Thanks Fairygen and Blondes.

Onceipop - That's what I'm worried about too, so I'm determined to stay on track and be really good this week to try and make sure I don't put on next week!

muminthecity · 08/05/2013 20:25

Oh and good luck Lollipop!

LollipopViolet · 08/05/2013 21:33

Ooooh, 3 pounds off today, means I'm 3.5 pounds off my stone. I have a big presentation next Thursday night, my challenge is to shift that 3.5 pounds and get my stone award at group the night before. We've got a Facebook group and I've posted that's my challenge on there, and have had LOADS of advice and tips on how to try and do it, so here goes nothing :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/05/2013 23:49

Well done lollipop

Well done Lollipop

0.5lb on for me so drastic measures this week...am breaking out the scan bran! Also going to try the 777 too.
I NEED to drop into the next stone bracket!

B: 3 scan bran topped with 0% greek yoghurt with some sweetener added and banana. Pint glass of water and lemon juice then a cuppa
L: Jacket spud with beans and salad
D: Chicken stirfry
Will eat my other two scan bran through the day somewhere
Syns: Options, 1 tbsp salad cream with lunch, a microwaved pink & white sadly the highlight of my day

Fairygen · 09/05/2013 10:10

Sts this week, nothing short of a miracle!! I too am going to have to stick to it 100% this week, or I feel I might pay for it next wi

Plan for this week-
Save as many sins as I can just in case something unexpected turns up. Stay off the wine.
Get dd to hide all high syn treats out of temptations way
Get off my arse and do some proper exercise

The nutella has now been finished ( not by me) so it won't be calling me from the cupboard.

Congrats to all the losers, good luck this week to the gainers and sts.

iklboo · 09/05/2013 19:21

I think I might be ill. I'm starting to enjoy my training for Race For Life' in July. Hope it's having an effect on the weight loss too (I've only been doing it 2 weeks).

muminthecity · 09/05/2013 19:58

Well done to all the losers. I've done alright today, 9.5 syns which is more than I usually have on a weekday but still not bad. I've had:

B - Banana
L - Tesco sushi pack (3.5 syns), fat free yoghurt and another banana
D - Beef Wellington made using recipe from SW website (6 syns but well worth it - it was delicious and sooo filling!) with boiled new potatoes, cherry tomatoes and mange tout

I added some philadelphia light to the wellington mixture as my HexA and will have 2 rocky road HiFi bars as my HexB. Had one already, saving the other for when I get the late night munchies! Drank 2 litres of water and a few glasses of diet coke.

Nishky · 09/05/2013 20:03

I phoned the leader today but there was no answer so left message on answer machine to say I am coming back tomorrow morning. Glad that she knows in advance

Curlywurlysareyum · 09/05/2013 22:41

Thinking of u tomorrow Nishky.

Well done on more losses everyone !

I'm so annoyed with myself for putting on that pound so I'm determined this week - had 10 syns today (good for me as i mostly have all my syns) and went out walking.

Need to give myself a good kick as my summer hol getting closer.

Blondes - r u going soon?

TheDetective · 10/05/2013 00:02

Hello!

I started slimming world 2 weeks ago. Never done any kind of diet. Lost weight before when single. I put weight on when happy Hmm. My other half is a feeder Grin.

Anyway, my question to you ladies is, did any of you sustain big losses, and for how long? My first week was 4.5lb off, and this week 6lb off. I've completely stuck to it, I have 13-15 syns a day. Mine are a couple of syns with evening meal often, and then chocolate in the evening Grin.

Discussing in group today, it seems that those who use most of their syns, and don't actively starve themselves, but eat healthy choices when hungry, have good losses. Is this true for anyone here?

I'm eating like a fucking horse. I am ashamed to say I have 2 kitkats every night, and yesterday I ate 10 eggs (soft boiled eggs for breakfast and omlette for dinner!). On top of everything else. It was an accident btw, I didn't realise I'd had 10 eggs Grin.

Anyway, I'm really keen to get another 1st 2lb off ASAP as I put a lot of weight on in just 10 weeks (1st12) Blush and I was pretty damn overweight before that. Grin

I've give myself a month to get that extra stone off. Is it possible?

Fairygen · 10/05/2013 07:56

Hi Detective.I've always said that losing the weight is the easy bit, it's maintaining it that's the nightmare. When I was 17, footloose and fancy free, I got down to 8 stone ( -2 stone) and maintained for about 2 years.

Unfortunately as soon as I lose the weight I think, great I've done it I'm thin now, and go back to my old ways. 6 months later, I'm back where I started. I'm determined to stick to it this time!!

I'm glad it's not just me who eats loads of eggs!!

Fairygen · 10/05/2013 07:58

P.s, I know someone who has been following SW for about 5 months and has lost 4 stone, so about a stone a month is do-able

lizardqueenie · 10/05/2013 08:24

Hello ladies may I join you?Smile

Have probably been on a SW thread on here in the past, think its a great plan- I just need to stick to it. I've been going to group for about 5 weeks now but haven't commuter 100% However if I buck my ideas up I could get my 1/2 stone award this week - my WI day is Monday.

So need to boost the weightloss opportunity from today & over the weekend- does anyone find focusing on the speed foods really helps?

higgle · 10/05/2013 10:24

I'm new here too. I've been going to SW since mid-march and have lost 16 lb over 8 weeks at a steady rate. I've noticed I lose most in the weeks I have not been quite so good, especially if I have eaten out one or two nights, than the weeks I have stuck to plan 100% and not had many syns. I'm aiming to lose 3 stone 13lb for my holiday in November and so far, so good.

I like the group much better than WeightWatchers as tehre is a far more realistic attitude to people who are strugglilng a bit. Alos about 1/4 of the people who attend my group are at target, with most of them having been that way for a long time. I don't find it hard to diet, but I've never suceeded in keeping it off indefinately, so I think I will probably end up going forever if this is what I need to do once I get to target.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/05/2013 10:47

Welcome newbies. On phone so can't name check easily

I sts. Just as well as there will be a huge gain in two weeks :(

Curly. Sunday is d day. Well h day :)

Nishky · 10/05/2013 13:36

Well it was of course fine, there were loads of new members!!!

The bonus is I weigh 5lbs less than I thought I did- so I feel like I' ve lost already!!

muminthecity · 10/05/2013 20:22

That's a great start Nishky! Congrats! Grin

I've treated myself to a small bag of chocolate buttons today which I'm saving for later. I've also got a bag of salt and vinegar walkers in the cupboard but can't work out how many syns they are, does anyone know?

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 10/05/2013 22:05

Walkers home grown 32.5gbag are 8.5 syns all flavours

Curlywurlysareyum · 10/05/2013 23:33

Blondes - have a great time :)

Welcome to all the newbies!!

Well done Nishky - u have made that first step.

Detective - I know people who have great weight loss so it's possible. I'm more of a tortoise myself! As for maintaining I know a lot who are at target and stayed there. Think it boils down to whether u stick at plan or go off the rails - like any diet it needs to be kept up long term. I've done most diets and def feel this is a good 'healthy eating' plan that could be kept up for life.

All that aside though I've found today hard. If I'm at all stressed or tired food is my comfort! I tried hard to have fruit, then had crisps at 4 syns, an alpen light 3.5, a curly wurly 6 all one after the other!! Thankfully I'd been good all day so I'm within my syns but then almost had a pancake or toast - have gone to bed to get away from cupboards!!!

LollipopViolet · 11/05/2013 09:00

Aaaargh, had 2 shocking days eating far too much rubbish. Back on it 100% for the next 5 days til weigh in and hope I've not done too much damage.

Daisybell1 · 11/05/2013 09:20

Hello again, well it's going shockingly here. Scales showing half a pound on Sad

But am still going shred and this morning I'm in a pair of cords which I haven't been able to get near since before I had dd Shock

So not quite sure what's going on...

Daisybell1 · 11/05/2013 09:21

Sorry, forgot to add, there are some great losses on here, you are all doing fab Grin

LollipopViolet · 11/05/2013 09:30

Daisy, don't let your scales worry you too much - mine have shown I've gained a pound when I've actually lost 2 before now! I now weigh myself on a Wednesday morning for a rough idea then only trust the scales at my group :)

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 11/05/2013 10:59

I hit Target! GrinGrinGrinGrin

But still have serious love handles so have adjusted by another 3 lbs and will see then how it all is. I have a feeling no matter what weight I lose I will always have a spill over waistband type tummy Hmm bloody kids
