I agree blondes u are def allowed . I know I've just joined but been reading the thread and my thoughts have been with u.

iklboo · 18/04/2013 19:07

Hello new ladies. How are you blondes?

iklboo · 18/04/2013 19:10

B - fruit
L - chicken tikka salad pot with mint mayo (1/2 syn)
D - chicken & veg stir fry with noodles

Supper will be a pot of prawns with salt & vinegar (cos I'm common)

I've had 2 hi Fi caramel bars as my healthy b today & milk as healthy a

Syns - 4 x Mikado biscuit things. Only 1/2 syn each.

oopslateagain · 18/04/2013 20:07

B - eggs
L - turkey, banana, Hi-fi bar as HeB
D - extra lean mince, peas, corn, rice, gravy made with stock cubes

Syns - tiny slice of wedding cake, probably around 6.

I need a HeA and more superfree but I have a rotten cold and don't fancy eating at all. :(

beanandspud · 18/04/2013 20:28

B - Fruit and an Alpen bar (heB) eaten in the car
L - Was out with work but had salmon served on a tomato and lentil stew thing from the 'healthy' menu which I think was ok
D - veggie chilli and rice (free)

S - yogurt, fruit and a tiny bit of chocolate from DS's Easter egg.

I will try to get some scan bran stuff at the weekend and will report back!

Are pilchards in tomato sauce free? What about tinned mackerel/sardines?

oopslateagain · 18/04/2013 20:51

Yes pilchards and sardines in tomato sauce are free on EE. If you like them, they work on ScanBran because they are 'wet' enough to make the sawdust more palatable.

Of course, you have to actually like pilchards/sardines for it to work... Grin

beanandspud · 18/04/2013 21:17

Thanks oops Grin. I do like pilchards etc. and could do with a different breakfast option so I'll give the sawdust scan bran a try!

androbbob · 18/04/2013 21:26

All this talk of sawdust scanbran - I quite like them, but three a day is all I can manage and it is not having any effect on losing weight - feel more bunged up than usual!!

Need a kick up the bum - foodwise not been great, but I have been to the gym and sweated twice.

3girls1madboy · 19/04/2013 07:15

Morning everyone SmileSmile Hope everyone is looking forward to tbe weekend!

Been a good week so far, got my dn 17th birthday do tomorrow, and it's a bbq so the saddo that I am, is already trying to work out what not to eat Wink

Scan bran doesn't really fill me with 'oooh yum'. I cant even stomach weetabix Grin Good on those of you that can.

Have a good Friday everyone x

WheresMyCow · 19/04/2013 08:29

Morning everyone Smile

Well, I'm looking forward to the weekend, sort of...I have WI first thing tomorrow morning so that will determine how good the weekend is!!

Have gone for it today and am having sawdust scanbran as my HEb. Had 3 for breakfast the way that fairhaired suggest up thread - soaked in water, drained off then with some milk, sweetener and some frozen summer fruits (all superspeed Grin). It wasn't the best breakfast in the world, but I didn't put much sweetener on as I don't really like the taste. But it didn't really fill me up and I've just had an egg when I got to work.

Ah well, only 2 more to eat! Hope that everyone has a good day Smile

Furball · 19/04/2013 08:32

Just reporting back to say.........

I've joined WW.

I need to go to classes, I just can't go it alone and a friend was joining WW so I took the decision to go with her for moral support.

I also need that change, I know SW, I know the cheats and it cheats me back. I'm hoping a new plan will give my mind something to focus on Smile

SW is a good plan, but like any diet, you have to stick to it.

beanandspud · 19/04/2013 08:39

Morning everyone! I am giggling to myself at all the sawdust scan bran stories - you'd think it was the only thing we were allowed to eat!

Pleased to report that I lost 3lb this morning Grin. Admittedly two of them were Easter gains but still going in the right direction albeit slowly. I just want to lose the next four and get down into the the next category of 'stones' iyswim.

The plan for today is:

B - Fruit and yogurt
L - Jacket potato with leftover veggie chilli
D - Going out for a curry with DH and DS. However, it's an early one and won't be a big blowout - I usually just have a tomato-based curry and boiled rice dreams of the days of garlic naan, onion bhaji, samosas and chapatis

Hoping to get a run today as well

beanandspud · 19/04/2013 08:40

Sorry to see you go Furball Sad.

Please report back occasionally and let us know how you're doing?

Furball · 19/04/2013 09:10

Thanks bean Smile

I'm just hoping the new focus can give me the kick up my fat jacksey I need -I was so shocked on the scales last night, I through my own greed have 2 stone 9 lb minimum to lose......

and the sun is shining (or attempting to!) summer Hmm is on its way!

MarmaladeTwatkins · 19/04/2013 10:05

I am so confused and sad!

I bought some Salter scales last week (some posh body analyser ones!) and weighed myself before starting the programme. Scales said 14st 10. Fine.

Have weighted myself this week after working really hard at SW. Have stuck to plan, exercised, have been weeing like there's no tomorrow so was confident of a loss. Got on the scales this morning. I AM THE SAME.

But then out of disbelief, I switched the mode to weight in lbs instead of stones and it read 206lbs which is 14.7. So now I am confused.

Were my scales not working last week? Was I actually 206lbs last week? Have I lost 3lbs? Have I not? I just don't know if my efforts have paid off! I am fuming! I feel lighter but have been cheated out of knowing by my wanker scales. AAGGGGGHHHHHHHH!

Furball · 19/04/2013 10:31

marmalade - did you weigh on carpet? as that distorts the scales, they need to be on a hard floor.

But not what you expect from expensive scales. If it were me and I had stuck to the plan like glue, I would take it I had lost 3 lbs Smile

I know with my scales (not cheap but not that expensive) I can lose a pound just standing on them differently Confused

beanandspud · 19/04/2013 10:32

Marmalade - it's awful when that happens but there could be all sorts of reasons, please don't give up.

I dragged out my rusty calculator and I think 206lbs is still 14.10 which is kind of good news in that your posh new scales are working but probably doesn't make you feel any better.

Did you have a mad 'last day(s) before the diet starts blow-out' which could have affected the first week's loss? Is it your TOTM - hormones do funny things to weight loss? Did you weigh at the same time of the day? Same clothes?

My advice, for what it's worth, would be to keep going and concentrate on the good bits of feeling lighter, clothes a bit looser etc. You may find you have a big loss next week instead as your body gets used to the plan. One thing I've learnt from this thread is that weight-loss isn't an exact science and it's not helped when there is a myth that you get your biggest losses after the first week - some do, but not everyone.

MarmaladeTwatkins · 19/04/2013 10:36

I have wooden floors in my house so no carpet to blame :(

I haven't had any blow-outs, hand on heart.Have been really good! I always weigh myself in underwear.

I've been doing it for two weeks and zilch. Can kind of understand the first week as maybe easter was catching up with me, but would've expected a loss after 2 weeks slogging at it! :(

MarmaladeTwatkins · 19/04/2013 10:37

Gah. The online converter I used first said 206 was 14.7. Just checked on another and bean is right: it IS 14.10! So I don't even have the hope of shit scales to cling on to.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/04/2013 12:58

thanks curly and ikiboo - imok - tears and guilt and doubt that i should be enjoying/living my life again etc on the day but ok now - have to be as always say no choice

Curlywurlysareyum · 19/04/2013 16:26

Marmalade - that is so disheartening. That has happened to my friend - she was doing same as me - I was losing (I have never lost more than 3.5 in a week - never been like those who get big losses, but at least it was slowly chipping away) but my friend was sticking to it and not budging. She has changed to not eating pasta for lunch and the weight is starting to come off. (She's on EE) It is the most disheartening thing to try so hard.
I agree with beans - just keep going and u r bound to get a brill loss next week 😀
Blondes - that's brill u sts 😀
