Hi, can I join? I've been going to SW for several months, not sure whats going on but I'm hoping being here will help me out.

I lost almost 7lb in the first month or so, then it sort of tailed off, I'd lose a bit then gain a bit. Sticking religiously to the EE plan, it doesnt seem to matter what I do, the weight stays where it is. BUT - and it's a big but - my aim was to get from a size 18-20 down to a size 12. And I'm there. All my new clothes are a 12 (sometimes a 14 but not often). My size 14 jeans all need a belt as they're falling down.

My SW consultant keeps telling me to eat more during the day but I eat breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack every day and I just don't want to eat more - I'm not hungry!

I'm not sure whether to call it a day because I've reached my original goal, or to keep going to actually lose the weight (I'm 5'6 and 11st5lb), I originally wanted to get to around 10st.

MarmaladeTwatkins · 17/04/2013 20:08

Well done oopslateagain! What a massive weightloss!

It is true that the closer to target you get, the more difficult it is to lose. I got to 10st 13 the last time I was on SW, then I had a similar thing to you, up and down like a yoyo. My leader suggested shifting my goalposts and maybe accepting that 10st was never going to be my ideal weight. That made it a lot easier for me tbh. I changed my goal to 10st 10 and if truth be told, I looked good at that weight. I think I got a bit addicted to the weightloss and how good it felt but Iwas already fine IYSWIM? You've done really well and say, 10st 11-12 is not a bad weight for your height. Maybe it's time to shift your goal posts too?

androbbob · 17/04/2013 20:43

Oh dear - our Consultant is having a 12 week challenge - last week was the first week and we had to read the books from cover to cover. Managed that with ease. Well this week, she has evilly (or to make more sales hmmm.) got us to have 5 scan bran a day washed down with 5 glasses of water. Well the water is not a problem, but I managed to get some of the cardboard slices today and had four with my lunch and a laughing cow cheese triangle. Three went down ok but I really struggled with the fourth. I then forgot to bring them home from the office and had planned to flavour the other one with a cherry mullerlight. Will now have to do that tomorrow. They sell them in Holland and Barrett and they are 42% fibre, so are supposed to boost your weightloss - will report back next Monday with the result! We have a Group facebook page and some people are struggling with them.

How is everyone else doing this week - the weather cant make its mind up and I am sure it affects how I eat. Have been to the gym today - challenged myself to four sessions this week - two down and two to go!

Curlywurlysareyum · 17/04/2013 21:04

So pleased to lose 3.5 last night. That was more than in my first week. Cant believe it as ive never stuck at a diet before. Want 1.5 for next week to get a stone.
andro ... Tell me more about scan bran. I have weetabix every morning and try to eat about 2 scan bran with a dairylea but have to syn them. Do u eat the 5 scan bran as healthy extra?
Twatkins - I have only done ee since I started. The super free thing seems to make a diff to me. Some days I eat all 15 syns but other days aim for about 10. Day before weigh in always have less - not sure though if this is right thing to do but I always get a bit scared of wi !!

tigerdriverII · 17/04/2013 21:05

Hello all, and welcome new people.

oops, I agree with marmalade: maybe assess your target. I'm a little bit shorter than you ( not much) and I have never in my adult life been lass than about 10.5 stone. I wanted to get to 9.13, but realistically know that I won't do that and probably wouldn't be able to maintain it. If I can get to 10.8 then I will have a bmi of 25. I'm aiming for that. You'd have bmi of 25 at a couple or three pounds heavier than me: that would be doable and would tick the "healthy" box, too.

Have been doing ok last couple of days, although had to resort to Wine tonight, due to nit-related stress Angry.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 17/04/2013 21:17

I eat my scanbran for breakfast instead of cereal. I soak them in boiling water then drain the excess water, add a bit of milk & sweetener with sliced banana and it's far easier to take. I do that with 3/4 of them and add the other to my lunch.

Curlywurlysareyum · 17/04/2013 21:20

Think I will try that tomorrow fairhair 😃

oopslateagain · 17/04/2013 21:28

I like Scanbran with mashed pilchards in tomato sauce on top - they are easy to eat that way (if you like pilchards)

I've also made a sort of banana bread with them, you soak 5 of them in hot water, squeeze out the excess, mix in a teaspoon of baking powder, then mash in 2 ripe bananas and an egg. You can put in a teaspoon of cocoa powder if you like. Then spread it thickly on a baking sheet and bake for about 20 mins. It's actually quite nice!

MarmaladeTwatkins · 17/04/2013 21:41

Lol at scan bran woes. It is like a punishment food from the gulags [Grin]

Huffpot · 17/04/2013 21:42

WI tonight and 2lbs off Grin

androbbob I actually like scan bran spread with 0% total yoghurt with an options and sweetener mixed in topped with fresh strawberries. Yum Smile

BadRoly · 17/04/2013 21:46

What is scanbran? Is it free? Blush

androbbob · 17/04/2013 21:53

roly scan bran is an evil product that SW sell (also found in Holland and Barrett) and you get 5 for a HEB. It is supposed to aid weightloss as its full of fibre (better than All Bran and ryvita) but you do need lots of water to wash it down - cleans out your insides!!

tigerdriverII · 17/04/2013 21:59

Scanbran and mashed pilchards! With tomato!!

I am going to have nightmares tonight. Scan bran alone is enough for a bad dream....

oopslateagain · 17/04/2013 22:06

WI tonight, I lost a pound despite being on holiday last week and eating all the wrong things, I guess all the walking made up for it! Grin

Anyone tried the 7-7-7 thing? We had a substitute consultant tonight and she suggested it but I'd never heard of it before. Apparently our consultant mentioned it last week but nobody in my group has tried it.

Curlywurlysareyum · 17/04/2013 22:47

oopslateagain that is a fab weight loss esp since being on hols!

Haven't heard of the 7-7-7 thing - please tell us!

Scranbran makes me think of sawdust but that banana bread recipe sounds good! Hope everyone is well, some fab losses so far!

laughalot · 18/04/2013 10:13

Scanbran dare I go into holland and barrett tomorrow and get some ? Sounds vile its making me shudder already lol. 7-7-7 sounds alot easier :).

WheresMyCow · 18/04/2013 11:23

Morning Everyone

I actually quite like scanbran - sometimes crumble it into fruit and yoghurt, sometimes have it with stuff on at dinner. Have never tried to eat 5 in a day yet though as a HE so I always syn them. Perhaps I'll try to have 5 tomorrow so I can have a good clear out before WI on Saturday Blush Grin

No syns at all yesterday Grin

Helenagrace · 18/04/2013 12:58

Hi everyone can I join in please?

I joined SW this morning. I have a thyroid problem which makes it hard to lose weight but I need to try something. It looks ok as a programme and something the family can eat with me. Let's see how it goes...

Holliewantstobehot · 18/04/2013 17:09

Hi can I join? I have been following sw by myself at home for the last two weeks and lost 1 1/2 lbs first week and 1 lb last week which I am chuffed about as it was school holidays and tbh I have struggled to get it together to lose weight for more than a week at a time for the last year! I have two lovely kids and managed to lose weight after both pregnancies, but have piled a lot back on since my mum died and my ex left. I now feel ready to really tackle my weight but cannot face going to group. I have been reading through your thread and it has really helped me this last fortnight so I thought I would stop stalking hovering and join in!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/04/2013 18:26

welcome newbies - always welcome :)

b fruit and yog
l chilli prawn linguni
t chicken, sweet pot chips and veg

there wont be a loss tomorrow for me as been a bad blonde (again) but allowed under the circumstances

Curlywurlysareyum · 18/04/2013 18:52

I ended up having weetabix instead of the scan bran! Couldn't build up the courage! 2 is all I have managed (& syn them). Tried sainsburys Cumberland sausages tonight - half a syn each and are okay. My DH didn't complain thankfully - think he sees me trying hard and doesn't dare
complain!
