Hi ladies!
Can I join please? Lost three stone on sw before..then had children and now have four/four and a half stone to lose. Was going to do 5:2 plan but its not realistic for me yet, and found sw the most adaptable and flexible. Extra easy here I come, need a bit of hand holding as have been on so many false starts, evening binges and vino excesses!

MrsMeow · 11/04/2013 12:04

Morning everyone :)

Talking of morrisons, they currently have 10x Mullerlight yogs for £3 - I meant to post about it yesterday. They're syn free!

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/04/2013 12:54

badroly - gotcha thanks, did wonder about sotw, so if you gained last week then lost say 5 lbs you wouldnt get it, but then the 3rd week and you lost 1 lb you might?

mrsmeow - i make in a square glass dish as sticks to cake tins i find, so your pyrex thing will be fine :) hope you like

Afternoon all!

Well done to Laughalot's DS on football final - that does indeed merit a fish supper! And great news about the new clothes! I really do need to do a massive wardrobe clear-out as I'm sure I have the whole range of sizes from 10-20 in there somewhere...

Be kind to yourself Blondes - I hate that TOM feeling - it's yucky.

B- Fruit and yogurt
L - SW Quiche - loads of veg in it so I could be a little, ahem, windy later Blush
D - Not sure yet, I haven't been shopping and haven't been at home much this week so we could end up with a curry unless I find an alternative quickly!

Thanks for the yogurt tip-off MrsMeow - DH is on his way to Morrison's as we speak!

Welcome Dippy - fab name.

needstodiet · 11/04/2013 15:30

Blondes I started using aquaban the week before I'm due on as I always end up bloated and uncomfortable. Maybe just luck and nothing to do with the aquaban but I lost 5lbs at the next weigh-in (day before they started). Wasn't at the start of my SW journey either.

Not expecting good news at this next weigh-in tho. On antibiotics which has diahorea listed as possible side effect, it's done the opposite for me Sad

Missenglish · 11/04/2013 16:11

Hi All!

I lost three stone since august last year and I feel amazing! Lots of my friends and family have asked how I have done it so I have put together a blog ( formerfatgirlsdiary.blogspot.co.uk/ )

Anyway, my focus is on normal and achievable tips and tricks to help people lost weight and to inspire and motivate them. Do you have any ideas I could share on my blog?

Thanks,

FormerFatGirl

FairhairedandFrustrated · 11/04/2013 20:18

Hi all, have been lurking, I hope you don't mind me jumping in now & again?

I read blondes recipe for quiche yesterday and wanted to tell you I made it today - was lush! Thanks.

I've been a member of Slimming World for a good few years now, I was at target almost 2 years but managed to go more than 3lb over sometimes and am currently 12lb over target - working on losing that excess now.

Whoever said they were bunged up - have you tried scanbran? I've been having 3 pieces a day (1 syn each or 5 for a HEB) mixed with boiling water & banana, it will make you move all right!

Best of luck for morning blondes, I second the aquaban :)

MrsMeow · 11/04/2013 20:20

Thanks for advice, I made mine in a Pyrex casserole dish and it was fine :) bloody gorgeous too!

I've done really badly today I think...I really find it hard to eat breakfast, it makes me feel sick so I tend not to. Really need to change my mindset on that. I've been working on my assignment all day as well so before I knew it, it was 4.30pm and I'd not eaten anything.

So breakfast - 3 x black coffee
Lunch - nothing
Dinner - SW quiche with baked beans.

Water, coffee, peppermint tea to drink.

Will have fruit & natural yoghurt later and maybe a little bit of all bran with it to get a healthy extra in there.

Tomorrow will be better!

3girls1madboy · 11/04/2013 20:32

I have been a very bad 3girls tonight.

B- muesli (heb) with strawberries
L- left over Spanish chicken with rice, and 2 homemade pakoras (but I was very good, lots of cake and crisps, as someone was leaving at work, and I didn't have any)
D- Chinese takeaway!!!!

Plus banana, apple, satsuma and an activist yogurt. Lots of water too Grin
Good luck for the morning blondes x

3girls1madboy · 11/04/2013 20:32

Activist???? Bloody autocorrect!

noyouhavehadawee · 11/04/2013 20:57

weetabix for breakfast
sushi for lunch and a pear
chilli con carne for tea which was hardly any as it didnt taste that good
dh then bought in pattie and chips for himself as he was working late and i had a one wholemeal bread slice chip sanger Blush
also had a muller light.

I am a bit bunged up too but like to think thats because i dont have as much waste Confused

beanandspud · 11/04/2013 20:58

For some reason I find the idea of 'activist yogurt' very funny Grin

Dinner dilemma was solved by DH and we ended up with a curry Blush. I had boiled rice and tandoori prawns without sauce so ok I think.

MrsMeow · 11/04/2013 21:24

I love Activist yoghurt!!

FairHairedAndFrustrated - welcome :) I'm new on here too, I started SW on Tuesday.

Where do you get the scan bran from? I remember hearing about it from a friend but don't think it's in the shops?

I'm finding things have slowed down a bit too Blush despite all the fruit & veg..

tigerdriverII · 11/04/2013 21:31

mrsmeow. . You know that no breakfast and no lunch is not good!

How about a hi fi bar for breakfast, or leftover dinner? I often have cottage pie, or curry, or whatever, for breakfast. I don't like cereal, or bacon and eggs, or toast (picky). I do like a nice tikka masala though!

If you don't eat enough regularly, your body will go into starve mode and will start laying down fat, so you need to try to get something into you. Smoothie? Milky coffee

MrsMeow · 11/04/2013 21:40

I know, I know Blush I think this is my main problem. I have a v small appetite and am lazy when it comes to cooking/eating so my usual diet is coffee for breakfast, sandwich for lunch and sandwich or pasta for dinner. Plus wine! This is what's made me a size 16!

I must admit I panicked a bit when I saw just how much you can eat on SW, it's more than I would normally so that to me, equates to putting ON weight, not losing it...

A hifi bar is actually a really good idea. Quick and easy and I can eat it in the car...thanks :) not sure I could attempt leftovers. I heave trying to eat toast so early - RESPECT to you for having the stomach to do it haha!

Thanks for the advice!

tigerdriverII · 11/04/2013 21:48

Could I ask (roughly) how old you are? Cos that was my diet for years and I was a manageable but overweight size (16/18), always the jolly one. Then I hit middle age, aka 50 + menopause, and suddenly late pasta suppers turned into struggling into a 20. And the Wine of course! Hifi are good. Peanut is nice for breakfast, or two Alpen light bars, they are more cereally IYSWIM.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/04/2013 21:50

Glad you liked my (sw) quiche. Told you it was easy :)

Welcome fair haired

Mrsmeow. Bad cat !!! You must eat during the day. Eat breakie. Even if a few grapes or a banana or hifi bar

FairhairedandFrustrated · 11/04/2013 21:57

Hi Mrsmeaow I get the scanbran in group, but I think Holland & Barrat sell it also.

I melt mine with boiling water so it's easy to mash and slice a banana in it with a wee bit of milk & sweetener.

I never usually have what I would call a breakfast either, though I try & have the scanbran around 10am/11am. I don't have a big appetite either but I like knowing I can eat the superfree foods if i'm hungry.

Today I have had the 3 scanbran (3 syns) milk (HEA) & a banana for breakfast/brunch with a black coffee

Lunch was Blondes quiche (1/2 of it) snacks were yellow plums, melon and a greek muller light (1/2 syn)

Dinner was KFC style chicken fillet burger with a brown wholemeal roll (HEB) lighter than light mayo (1/2 syn) and tomato served with a few big thick cut potato wedges sprinkled with chilli flakes.

Have drank coffee using my milk allowance, diet coke & no added sugar dilute juice.

MrsMeow · 11/04/2013 22:06

Tiger - I'm 33. This has been my diet for forever and I've always stayed around a 12/14 - usually 14, but in the last three years or so my weight has been creeping up. I think it's probably down to age for me, but funny you should mention menopause, I'm currently undergoing tests for this and thyroid/PCOS....

Blondes - I know! I did really enjoy the quiche though. How simple?! V filling too. Good luck for your weigh in :)

Fair - thank you, I shall ask at group. I did buy hifi bars last time but she didn't mention anything else so I'll ask. That's my problem with breakfast I think, I can't stomach it until around the same time as you, by which time I'm in lectures, busy with DC, at work, and it's almost lunch time!

androbbob · 11/04/2013 22:07

Ooh new people to the group - welcome to you all! Keep the ideas and issues and thoughts coming - we can all help each other to be a little slimmer for the summer - I am told we will be getting one some day, not sure when!

Been a good Robo and been to the gym tonight. I was planning on going at lunchtime, but meetings all merged into one. Thankfully I nipped into Morrisons on the way to work and got a salad tray with three hard boiled eggs and loads of free salad and a teaspoon of coleslaw. It was delicious and I finished it off with some Chilli for tea!

Off with the kids tomorrow, so had thought to take them to McDonalds, but they both went there separately today. Probably go back to Morrisons and get me a salad and them something from the cafe there as the prices are reasonable! DS wants to play golf (he is 6) so there is a pitch and putt course nearby so we will try that - its one step up from the usual crazy golf.

Need to have a good three days ready for WI on monday! Need to lose 6lbs to get my Club 10 - my next target.

ILoveOnionRings · 12/04/2013 11:44

Hi all - can I join too?

I have managed to 'obtain' a SW book and started last Saturday so first weigh in tomorrow. I am not going to any classes and being supported by SIL through texts and fb. I have 21lbs to lose or 10.5 kilos as that doesn't sound as much.

Determined to get the weight off as none of my summer clothes fit and I refuse to buy any in the next size up.

Just going to the shops and plan to make Blondes quiche when I get back and then something mincy with veg for tea - DH and DS will be having a pie and veg

laughalot · 12/04/2013 15:21

Welcome to the newbies !!! Should we call the quiche Blondes quiche Grin. I made the mistake of cooking it in a cake tin big fail it did stick but still ok to eat.

I lost 2lb this week so 12st 7 still a long way to go but better than 14 5 when I started Grin.

Huffpot · 12/04/2013 15:42

I weighed on Wednesday and 3lb down. I came on so it would have been a better loss without that - am tempted to get the Aquaban tablets mentioned up thread to see if that helps once my period regulate
Blondes Quiche is lovely Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/04/2013 15:51
