Well done laugh and huffpot!

I have flu so I'm feeling very sorry for myself, forced myself to eat lunch because if I don't I'll binge on junk later. Thats what I do when I'm ill. Managed to make it to the shop and buy my first ever tub of cottage cheese so I can try Blondes quiche this weekend!

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 12/04/2013 17:30

I was planning on having the duck pancakes tonight but just read the recipe and the duck is supposed to marinate overnight so that buggers that right up! Think will be Indian takeaway but have WI in the morning, what's the best thing I can have? Normally love a chicken korma but that won't be good will it..

Otherwise only 1 syn today though Smile

MrsMeow · 12/04/2013 17:57

Hi everyone :) I like Blondes quiche!!

Blondes - not too bad considering time of the month. I've been known to gain up to 6lbs some months!

I've tried better today, food wise and eaten a bit more.

B - Mullerlight and blueberries. Black coffee - all syn free.

L - 2 slices brown bread (HEB) with cottage cheese, chicken and tomato - syn free.

D - will prob have Blondes quiche with beans or peas - syn free.

Fruit to snack on this eve if needed. And a well earned glass of wine - god knows how many syns but I don't even care!

MrsMeow · 12/04/2013 17:59

Welcome to everyone else that's new and well done Huffpot and Laughalot on your losses :)

3girls1madboy · 12/04/2013 19:49

Welcome to you who are new Smile
Yay for the losses Grin
Boo for the gains Sad totm sucks!!!

Good day today, stuck to plan with minimal Syns (2 teaspoons of ice cream, so I reckon about 2)

laughalot · 12/04/2013 21:57

Thanks Tiger that was my second answer it was giving me brain freeze !!!!! 2 stone was my target for my hols so I am so happy with that.

ILoveOnionRings · 13/04/2013 10:43

Morning everyone. Made the quich yesterday but the cottage cheeses was 70% fat free, couldn't remember if we could have that free so bought quark instead. Just a quick question, the quiche had alot of liquid when I took it out of the oven. Is this normal?

First weigh in this morning and had lost 4lbs so quite pleased with that.

17lbs to go

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 13/04/2013 14:48

WI today down 1 and 1/2 lb so 2 and half to target Smile

Made the quiche today for lunch which was fabulous so thanks *blone

needstodiet · 13/04/2013 16:18

Well done fish and onion (sounds like a new dish) Grin

+1/2lbs this wk Sad Aim to do much better this wk.

Must give blondes quiche a try too.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 13/04/2013 17:46

Angry I just wrote a big ling post & my internet cut out & lost it!!! I'll try to remember what I wrote (and save it incase it does it again!!!!)

Well done to those who have had losses, and to those who have had gains, onwards and downwards - this is life and we'll have bumps in the road :)

Onions, your #blondesquiche may have been runny due to not being left in oven long enough or perhaps the quark was just too runny? I've never used quark for it so don't know.

Today I had raspberries, banana and muller light for breakfast
Lunch was w/meal bread (HEB) kerrymaid (2 syns) and beans followed by a kiwi and grapes
Dinner is a Chicken Kung Pao out of the SW Taste of Asia book served with egg fried rice.

I also had a few syns in the Mikado sticks (about 4 syns as I had 8 of them) after I took DD to get her ears pierced (for the second time!)

I hope the Kung Pao is nice as I've not been able to get shuazan (sp?) pepper here in the arsehole of nowhere rural NI so I got mixed peppercorns instead - hope it doesn't alter the taste but I have a feeling it will. The pic in the recipe looks delicious.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/04/2013 18:04

quiche a la blondes has never been runny - but have also never used quark as it is rank Grin

almost 2 st laughlaot Envy well done, so jealous

Nicey spicy ricey for tea. Extra lean mince, peppers & onions, old El Paso spice mix & half a tin of tomatoes. Served with boiled rice and a nice big dollop of fat free fromage frais. 2 syns. Yum.

tigerdriverII · 13/04/2013 20:41

Well done on losses all. Some great ones there: who's got the spreadsheet, our total losses are amazing!

fairhaired. The Kung pao chicken is super delish. DH has an irrational prejudice against Chinese food, but loved it. I think it's better with the Szechuan peppercorns as they have such a distinct taste but I think you'll be fine. Have you got any cumin in your cupboard? It fight be a bit of a substitute? I was surprised how easy they were to get, Schwartze (sp?) do them.

ILoveOnionRings · 13/04/2013 21:09

Ok I'll give the low fat cottage cheese a go Smile

Has anyone tried the curry recipes from the website - If so which one owuld you recommend?

Huffpot · 13/04/2013 21:12

That chicken dish sounds delish...will put it on my to make list fair

FairhairedandFrustrated · 13/04/2013 21:20

Chicken dish was a huge hit here!! Well, with DH and I, the kids didn't want any of it, they had burgers instead!

I do have cumin but have read this too late! I'm going to go to Sainsbury's when I'm next in town as they tend to have more than the smaller store near my house.

I loved the dish as we love chinese food but I always get a nauseas feeling afterwards, probably from the MSG, but tonight there was no sick feeling at all - great!!

Have had a wee bit of ds's Easter Egg (only one left to go now!) and then filled up on a bowl of raspberries, grapes, melon & kiwi.

To whoever asked about curry (sorry am on phone and it's a pain to scroll) have you tried the Chicken Jalfrezi recipe? It's more an Indian tomato based curry, I love it. Or what about the speed curry sauce? It's easy to make and tastes exactly like chip shop curry sauce (if made correctly, DH has it down to a fine art now!)

FrickingFedUp · 13/04/2013 22:47

Can I join in please? Back on board after about a year break.

tigerdriverII · 13/04/2013 23:34

Hello fricking welcome! Everyone can join in. We've lost loads!

KissMyGrits · 14/04/2013 08:37

Hello everyone new!

I love the chicken tikka massala recipe. Haven't tried many others because I still have a sneaky chicken tikka rogan josh from the takeaway occasionally!

Feeling better this morning but DH bought me a cream scone yesterday because apparently I 'burn more calories when sick'. Would have been rude not to eat it!

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 14/04/2013 09:24

Hi everyone, I joined slimming world on Thursday. I have a four month old baby and about 1.5 stone to lose. I'm breast feeding so I'm allowed quite a few extra healthy extras, but I'm having trouble finding something to eat with them. Last night I made the Burmese chicken and coconut curry out of the magazine, it was delicious.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/04/2013 12:12

Welcome fed up - all are welcome

Making my quiche today / quiche a la blondes :)

But Instead of ham - trying salmon. In oven now

B fruit and yog

Jinty64 · 14/04/2013 16:38

Can I join you? I lost 2 stone with SW in 2011 but, due to family problems, stopped going and have put 1 1/2 stone back on. I have been low carbing and have lost exactly - nothing. I bought new clothes that were just a bit tight before I gave up so I have a whole new wardrobe to wear in 2 stones time. They are sitting there mocking me! I go on holiday in 12 weeks time and am determined to wear them then - I don't have much choice I have so little that fits me.

Planning to start tomorrow. I won't be going to meetings as the times don't suit but I have all the info plus lots of SW recipe books. I want to lose 5 1/2 stone in all.
