Hi all. Ouch, blondes - to your mouth and to your purse!

So, success express, not entirely successful. Lost 1/2 lb. quite good for me as I tend to lose a bit, then STS or put on, so this is three weeks all in the right direction. But I am a bit disappointed. Two other group members did it, one lost 5lb Envy, the other gained! I think I must have been doing something wrong. There is an explanation of it at p43 of the red and green book, if you have this year's SW books, apparently.

The amazing thing is that I got slimmer of the week for the second week running! So I have both a sticker for my book (!) and a nice bag of fruit, veg and half a dozen eggs from some ones hens, saves on shopping a bit!

MrsMeow · 09/04/2013 22:47

Hope your mouth is ok blondes...£214 made me cringe a bit!

Well done on your loss tigerdriver :)

I went to SW tonight, was v nervous walking in but everyone was pretty welcoming! I've stocked up on hifi bars - gotta get my priorities right!

Can I just ask a couple of questions please? I remember someone telling me that 'mug shots' (dried pasta/noodle things in a sachet) are free on SW - is this right? I can't find anything in any of my booklets to say that they are or not...

Also, fat free yoghurt/fromage frais. It says in the book to look online and see which ones are free foods as not all brands are. I've looked and can't find this either. Think I'm getting a bit overwhelmed by it all! Will it be things like Mullerlight?

Sorry. I hope I'll be able to help others soon :)

KissMyGrits · 10/04/2013 06:39

Somehow 1lb off this week Shock I have not done well over the weekend and the only day I did less than 10 syns all week was yesterday. I did do a lot of exercise though. This week has encouraged me that I should be able to maintain because I haven't denied myself anything but still lost so thats encouraging.

tigerdriverII · 10/04/2013 09:29

mrsmeow. Some mugshots are free on EE, eg the tomato one, roast chicken and sweet and sour. You have to make sure that they say mug shot in red lettering not black, apparently. There is info online, the SW website is good, mobile app better ( you can search things while you're shopping).

I don't know about frontage frail, but Total0% yog is free and I use it for sweet and savoury things. The only thinking is that it is pricey, never seems to be on offer!

Hifi bars are great, just had a peanut one to top up my breakfast.

tigerdriverII · 10/04/2013 09:30

Frontage frail! Fromage frais.

BadRoly · 10/04/2013 10:08

Morning Grin another post and run sorry! I am collecting my Mum from the airport in a bit and am very excited Grin

Anyway, spent yesterday feeling a bit ropey and pooing water Confused which could explain why I have lost the 5lb I put on last week Grin

Now to remain focused and get back on track... Which may be a bit tricky as there's still 2 weeks with my Mum, my wedding anniversary, my friend's 60th party and ds1's birthday to go...

MrsMeow · 10/04/2013 10:13

Frontage frail, I love it! Thanks very much Tiger. I registered on the site and app last night so will have a better look now. Will be handy to check when shopping :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/04/2013 10:45

kiss, tiger and roly - well done on loss's

i dont go to groups, so not sure how slimmer of the week works

is it a 5 of what you lose or the actual weight ie 1/2lb

as in well done you got sotw, but how come you managed it as 1/2lb - were there not others who lost 1 or 2 lbs?

mrs meow - yes mugshots are free apart from think the cheese one which think is 2 syns

lovely and and yes mullier light free

BadRoly · 10/04/2013 10:53

Morning Blondes Smile

At ours you have to have sts or lost the week before. So I wouldn't get SotW today because I gained last week. It may be that any big losers gained last week so 2 small losses has been enough for SotW.

I have decided I like my group a lot. I was quite sad not to stay today. Quite a few people commented on how good I looked Grin its lovely really.

BadRoly · 10/04/2013 10:54

Got a bit more time, welcome MrsMeow Smile

Well done Kiss and Tiger Grin

MrsMeow · 10/04/2013 11:37

Thanks Blondes and BadRoly - I hope you have fun with your mum and feel better soon.

Blondes, I'm going to try your quiche recipe I think but don't have a flan dish (Delia I ain't!) so do you think it will be ok in a Pyrex casserole type dish? It's square and pretty deep...

WheresMyCow · 10/04/2013 11:54

Morning all

Going to jump on the thread as I started at SW a couple of weeks ago.

I will try to keep up honest! Grin

So, how's everyone doing this week? I have my group on a Saturday, so half way through the week and not doing too bad so far!

noyouhavehadawee · 10/04/2013 13:28

wow i am so shocked i lost a tiny grams to take me back to my lowest three weeks ago, i celebrated with a small faster egg Blush

noyouhavehadawee · 10/04/2013 13:28

Easter even Grin

tigerdriverII · 10/04/2013 16:32

Hi wheresmycow, welcome!

blondes, badroly's right. You have to have lost or STS the previous week. So l've actually been slimmer of the week for two weeks in a row, because I lost 2lbs two weeks ago (not saying much, it was losing what I put on), then I lost 1lb last week, but just about everyone else gained or STS (easter eggs) apart from one person who lost a lot but had gained the previous week, and then this week, because they'd all gained the week before, I got in again.

My weight loss hasn't been very spectacular, but it's going in the right direction. I found a pic from September the other day and I look horrendous! I've just been to a dress agency and bought a slinky frock for a do I'm going to in a couple of weeks. I will look fat slinky, if you see what I mean, but certainly a huge improvement on 6 months ago. I am finding it quite difficult to work out what to wear at the moment though, I look at clothes and still think "barrage balloon" where really I can think, might look ok.

BadRoly · 10/04/2013 17:27

Mum's here Grin we celebrated with cake!

Tiger - I would love to do a thread meet where we all brought 'before' pictures! In my head you all have different voices when you post where I feel I'm starting to know everyone! Anyway.

Can't stay or I'll get put on the naughty step...

MrsMeow · 10/04/2013 18:18

Hi everyone, hope you've all had good days :)

First day for me, spent about £80 on fruit & veg etc, ouch! But I'm stocked up now and will make sure I eat every last flippin bit!

Bit of a boring day food wise really, I'm on an assignment deadline and have the DC home on Easter hols still so haven't managed to plan anything major yet, meals wise.

B - Cherry Bakewell Hi-Fi bar (6 syns) as I didn't have anything else in that I knew was ok to eat on SW and needed something quick.

L - tomato mugshot (thanks for the info on those btw). Orange.

D - 2x slices brown bread toasted (healthy extra B), 200g spaghetti hoops (free if I've read it right) two eggs scrambled using milk from healthy extra A. Toast spread with Bovril (free) as I couldn't get the lid off my marmite!

I'll probably have strawberries & blackberries with natural yog (free) later on.

Water, peppermint tea and black coffee to drink. Is black coffee ok? I can't find it anywhere!

KissMyGrits · 10/04/2013 19:04

Know what you mean tiger. My clothes are all too baggy and starting to look silly, but I think part of that is from when I was bigger and I stretched them. I don't feel ready to go down another dress size yet and don't want to go out and buy a bunch of clothes that hopefully won't fit me in 2 months. In about 6 lbs I should be ready for a whole new wardrobe though.

tigerdriverII · 10/04/2013 19:22

Black coffee's fine, and tea without milk, especially herbal tea, roibos etc.

On dress size, I was struggling to get into a 20, now easily fit 18 and often 16. I have 2 stone 10 lb to go, at that weight I should be a smallish 12. So I'm buying inexpensive stuff where possible, making my work dresses carry on until they really are beyond the pale. I have some old work stuff in the wardrobe from preDS days. It's all a bit boring, but classic enough to do for a while. I just don't really know what my style is, if I have choice!

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 10/04/2013 20:04

I have some size 14 clothes that are loose now that I am happy to send on to anyone who needs them, nothing too fancy Tesco, Sainsburys etc everyday casual stuff

androbbob · 10/04/2013 21:57

Funnily enough I was trying on some old jeans today and they fit, possibly a little loose! They are a 16, so I am hoping to fit into some 14's by end of May. I have plenty of trousers to fit into but very little in the way of tops, so if fish wants to donate a couple of tops my way, I can ditch these baggy ones Grin Happy to pay postage!!

I am not sure what it is but the sun has been out for the last few days - not warm but not freezing. I am based out on site at the moment so getting lots of walking in and there are lots of people out and about enjoying themselves and I so want to be among them in the summer months in size 14/12 clothes getting a tan!

Foodwise I have been doing lots of salad this week - my local Morrisons has a salad bar which has loads of choice of stuff that is free, as long as avoid the pasta and creamy rice dishes. I could do it myself, but for £2 for a medium tray that lasts 2 days with some additional lettuce, it keeps me going. Far better than chocolate!!

beanandspud · 10/04/2013 22:54

Just checking in, haven't been around for a couple of days. Well done to those of you that have lost lbs and welcome to the newbies (I will go back and re-read, I promise)

Had a funny couple of days being away with work etc. Did ok yesterday with loads of fruit and then an M&S tuna nicoise salad which I think was ok. Really struggled going out for dinner so ended up with a slightly bizarre warm roasted cauliflower salad Hmm which was the best of the bunch on a menu where previously I would have stuffed myself! Couple of glasses of wine.

Pretty much all fruit, yogurt and Alpen bars today (lunch option was all sandwiches and wraps so I avoided the lot). Had a couscous salad from the service station on the way home but have found it all quite hard to judge what was/wasn't free.

On a positive note I had a work dress on that I haven't worn in 12 months and got some compliments. I have been out and bought a new pair of jeans (Sainsbury's) and a couple of tops. I am also finding clothes that I haven't worn for years are beginning to fit although I am loathe to buy much until I get to where I want to be.

KissMyGrits · 11/04/2013 06:45

androb we're getting a Morrisons soon, can't wait because thats a very good deal. I pay £1.50 for a ready made salad from Sainsburys which is probably much smaller.

Well done on getting back into that dress Bean it's things like that that keep me going rather than what the scales say!

We're off to the NRM in York again today so lunch will be whatever they have in the cafe, I know they do jacket potato's but I might treat myself. Then I have a friend coming over tonight and was planning on having a couple of wines but I'm full of cold so that may not happen.

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 11/04/2013 07:08

androb pm me your address happy to send them on Smile

laughalot · 11/04/2013 09:10

Morning ladies had a epic fail last night chip shop !!!! But with good reason the football team my ds plays for made it into the cup final and he gets to play on our countys football ground big thing he is only 8 Grin and we were massive under dogs so I had mushy peas, fishcake and probably a chip portion as big as my fist oops.

On the clothes front I sold a load of my size 16s on ebay the other day so no going back up in sizes again I have a few bits in my wardrobe that are a 14 my main worry is my hoilday clothes because I want to start buying them soon because of the cost but could well be a 12 when we go away and not a 14.

Going to make the quiche today.
