Thanks sleepfortheweek and whoateallthepercypigs I think DH and I just have to keep muddling on through it and hope I don't collapse in the meantime

I spoke too soon on the become tactics, DS2 woke after half an hour for some more milk but then took ages to get back down. I ended up falling asleep with no dinner. I'm now on feed number 1 with a bit of bread and butter. Not ideal. I'm hoping after this feed and some anbesol on the gums DS2 will go down a bit more easily but I think we're in for another long night.

SleepForTheWeek · 13/01/2018 00:32

12.30 and on wake up number 2. Not had s chance to fall asleep yet - I have a bad feeling about tonight 😥

Jellybean2017 · 13/01/2018 00:57

Wake up one and 💩 💩 💩 eek!!!

Just finished feed 1, managed a 3 hour block in his own room.
He woke twice straight after I settled him and slept 3 hours when DH did. But I got 3 hours so I'm not complaining. Annoyingly it could have been more but the cats where fighting outside which caused the dog to bark grr.

Sakura03 · 13/01/2018 01:52

Feed #1 here after only 1 hr 15 mins... thought ds had done a poo as quite smelly but hadnt so must gave just been farting... but glad I did change him as nappy was very heavy. Here's hoping we get some good sleep😊

NinaMarieP · 13/01/2018 02:34

He had a great evening and was in bed by half eight. Woke up at 11 not long after we moved him through to my room. Woke at 11.30. Woke at 12.15. I gave up and brought him into bed with me. He thrashed in my arms repeatedly for an hour and a half. I put him down beside me. He thrashed beside me for another half hour and has only decided now that he is hungry. He has slept in between and had his eyes shut while thrashing so I have no idea what is up with him. I am fucking exhausted through, I don't think I've slept for more than twenty minutes at a time.

user1489931797 · 13/01/2018 02:56

Evening/morning everyone

I got to sleep 3broken he's as DH took a shift however feel for him as sounds like it was a tough 3hrs with DS.

Just recently DS st Gap told loss had cows milk protein intolerance so prescribed Nutramigen formula the first 24hrs he was like a different baby once he had the biggest poop in the world which did not look like stopping anytime soon.

He was having feeds every 3hrs on average and naps and long periods of being content even awake which we hadn't seen the 7weeks if his life.

However its now been 40hrs since being in the new formula and he hasn't pooped in 36hrs and since yesterday late afternoon been very irritable and upset I think he's constipated.

We've had crying because of hunger and being uncomfortable but not taking much down at all and spitting up back up and lots of tooting.

Feel like we are back to square one Sad

Catscatsandmorecats · 13/01/2018 03:23

Just finished feed number 3, he's only going two hours in between and needs resettling during those hours too. Not much sleep for me yet. I have given ibuprofen now as it seemed to work better than calpol for teeth with DS1 🤞

@ninamariep - how old is your DS, could it be teeth? DS2 is definitely teeth and is thrashing away.

@user1489931797 I think it's quite common for babies to get constipated on that formula, it may be worth asking for some movicol or similar to help if the formula is working otherwise. I think that's what my friend does.

@meepmoop stupid cats!

NinaMarieP · 13/01/2018 03:30

He's just turned 5 months. He's barely cried which is weird though. If he was crying I'd think he was in pain or unwell and give calpol or ibuprofen. But he's just thrashy!

user1489931797 · 13/01/2018 03:53

Thanks @Catscatsandmorecats is that something you can get over the counter do you know? Just not wanting him to be uncomfortable and irritated all weekend so hard as next week he then had his vaccinations so another tough ish experience for him to come bless I'm sure he'd rather be back in the womb!

Meepmoop · 13/01/2018 03:56

I somehow managed to fall asleep on the chair in DS room. My neck and shoulders are so sore! I always seem to be aching these days especially after groups as we have to sit on the floor the whole time.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 13/01/2018 05:09

Tonight has been...weird. DS went down in his cot at 930. I did not fall asleep until about 12pm, bloody insomnia! After that it's a total blur until I woke at 4.45 with DS in my arms Confused can't remember how he got there or what time he woke! Not good
Changed his napoy and now he's wide awake. DD also restless. Hoping DH will go to her cos there's no way I'm leaving this bed!

Aaaaah...Welcome to the weekend GrinAngry

@meepmoop I'm just one big ache these days! Feeling about 100 years old...

Catscatsandmorecats · 13/01/2018 05:12

Maybe not then @ninamariep whatever it is though you have my sympathy with the thrashing, it is so annoying!

@user1489931797 I don't think so but maybe a pharmacist could give you something over the counter for now?

On feed number four now, DS1 just cries out for me but I'm ashamed to say I just ignored him as I knew DS2 was about to wake. DS1 does seem to have gone quiet again now for the moment. I'm struggling to stay awake

Catscatsandmorecats · 13/01/2018 06:17

Spoke too soon, had to go into DS1, came back and DH hadn't managed to keep DS2 settled sleep through all the thrashing until DS2 was well and truly awake Now both boys are singing and chatting band awake for the day. I am trying hard to ignore them for now but DS2 is very loud! Hopefully DH will take them both downstairs soon and give me a break

Sakura03 · 13/01/2018 06:26

Feed #2 here, ds on the left boob and pumping from the right as is so full. Ds slept 3 hrs 25 mins but i was awake several times to rock him as he was waking up. Hoping to go back to sleep soon

Sakura03 · 13/01/2018 07:57

Argh up again... 0nly down for 50 minutes... this is not great! Sleep in drips and draps is not as effective as the longer stretches of 2-3 hours... it's nearly 8 am but if be tempted to go back to bed if d's is up for it.

actino · 13/01/2018 08:08

Up for the day here. Dd went about 3 hours between feeds but needed settling to sleep, so I got pretty broken sleep.

I'm going to go to a yoga class at 1030 which will be the first proper exercise that I've done since last summer (I couldn't really exercise while pregnant, was too tired and joints hurt too much). Hopefully it goes well!

Meepmoop · 13/01/2018 09:11

Managed the whole night without co sleeping in my bed may have fallen asleep on the chair together for a tiny bit.

DS did 3 hours at the start of the night and then 3 hours at the end from 5am without intervention. It seems to be the middle of the night where he's fussy.

I only did two night feeds as he fell back asleep as soon as I picked him up so it's not food. He had rolled on his front a couple times and got stuck

@actino hope your class goes well

AMagdalena · 13/01/2018 09:50

DD was up every couple of hours boobing and pooed on the changing mat and her top in the morning 💩💩💩
No visible mucous, though. She's been on meds for her intestinal problems. Fingers crossed that solves it.

AMagdalena · 13/01/2018 09:50

Oh and it dripped on my leg 😭

Sakura03 · 13/01/2018 10:22

AMagdalena oh so you've had a lovely start to the day tooGrin My ds had done a massive poo which had gone up his back so I gave him a bath as that seems to be the easiest way to deal with it..

actino · 13/01/2018 11:57

Yoga was really nice and Dd slept the whole time for Dh. I'm happy that she was good for him, all this week she's been really fussy and colicy when he's home and I feel bad for him because he's been missing her a lot when at work and then comes back home to a screaming baby.

UtterlyConfused111 · 13/01/2018 19:50

@ninamariep
I can’t recall how old your LO is but my DD1 used to do the thrashing and wake herself up. What really helped was swaddling her...

I have a rant coming on..
My father in law and his partner are visiting us for a few nights to see the grandkids. They are not the helpful type of in laws.... they are the put their feet up and ask what’s for dinner type of in laws. Neither of them is young and they wear hearing aids.

Anyway it was a bad night with DD2 last night; she was up for two hour stretches between feeds. Every time I managed to settle her one of them would go to the loo (opposite baby’s room where I was sleeping) and bang the bloody door. Now I know they are old and they take their hearing aids out to sleep but... at 550am... when I settled her for the fourth time and one of them went to the loo for the third time ans woke her up I was ready to cry...
I’ve asked them to be considerate about noise and they have said they will be. I can’t ask again.
I really wish I’d stood up for myself and told DH I didn’t want guests right now...
Meh
They are here for two more nights - AIBU?

AMagdalena · 13/01/2018 20:03

@Sakura It was a truly great start to the day! NOT!

UtterlyConfused I sincerely sympathise. I a staying at my parents' at the moment and while my mum isn't hard of hearimg or elderly, my god, is she not loud!

#SuccessfulTransfer
Stretching my legs out 😊

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 13/01/2018 20:21

Not at all being unreasonable @utterlyconfused! I'd be bloody furious! My mum has a habit of using the toilet several times a night which is fine but she does it with much noise - heavy stomping to the bathroom she's actually a small woman so god knows why she's so lead footed doors slamming and she always flushes, despite us asking her not to if it's a number one - the bedroom I'm in is right next to the bathroom and the plumbing is very noisy. We've had words several times and she's a bit better...but still noisier than I'd like. Really hope you can get through the next two nights...
