tibsy · 17/04/2007 16:23

Amberjee · 17/04/2007 16:47

tibs, it is an initiative run through islington council and the breastfeeding network - can you mail me through this site and i can tell you more? i'm not sure how this site works really, apart from this thread!

tibsy · 17/04/2007 17:00

Amberjee · 17/04/2007 17:31

tibs, haven't got anything. should it go to my email, or somewhere on mumsnet?

tibsy · 17/04/2007 17:35

should come to your email. have just 'cat' you apparently
may take a little time as had to join something or other. its on 'contact a mumsnetter' god i'm useless when it comes to these things!

Amberjee · 17/04/2007 17:41

oh its ok, i have it now

Amberjee · 17/04/2007 17:50

wish my LO would have a 2 hour nap. seems to have boundless energy. i wanted to try putting him to bed a little later tonight, but i'm running out of energy to entertain him!

Swizzler · 17/04/2007 19:34

Lots of posts - well done on the nap Ginger and yay for baby Cruise!

We had a funny night last night - DS had been grumpy and sicky all day (I was at work), went to sleep at about 6:30 and slept till 11:30! % hours - that counts as sleeping through, yes? Anyway, he then proceeded to wake every hour or two until the morning, so not great for me getting any sleep. But progress of sorts.

Amber: we find that when I put him to bed later (e.g. when I'm not back from work till after 6) he actually goes down more easily. But he does have a meltdown on DH at about 5:30.

DS fast asleep now, so wondering what tonight will bring.

Amberjee · 17/04/2007 19:41

swizz, i just experienced the meltdown, it was horrible! usually i can put him in his cot, kiss him goodnight and he'll put himself to sleep eventually. tonight i had to feed him to sleep because he was super edgy and would cry every time i put him down.

anyway he is in bed prob only 20 mins later than usual, as he was just so tired and screaming his lungs out. he was a terrible napper today, and i was too lazy to sling him in the late afternoon (after carrying him all day mind you). probably has something to do with it. anyway, if he sleeps 20 mins later in the morning, i willbe happy.

tibsy · 17/04/2007 20:02

amber, cheers for email, will reply later when i have more time
just a quick post, dd in bed, have been to library today so want to settle down on settee with a book. do miss being able to read whenever i want
swizz, 5 hours!!!!!! wow shame about after, but its definitely progress
re. meltdown, we usually have one and i end up carrying dd around all afternoon. avoided it today by going to bed with her and thrusting my boob into her mouth as soon as she woke after her 30 mins. we had nearly 2 hrs then!!! she has gone to bed later so we'll see what happens am thinking i may have made a faux pas tho as she's had some of my spag bol tonight and i reintroduced yoghurt, as her eczema has been really clear. oh shit, wish i hadnt done now

Swizzler · 17/04/2007 20:34

Hmm, has already woken once ... at least I don't have to get up for work tomorrow.

gingerninja · 17/04/2007 21:07

She was great after her mega nap. We had a really nice day she was was very happy and she ate a good lunch. I think she needed a short nap this afternoon but a friend came over so there was too much going on. Consequently she was so tired come tea time that she didn't eat a great deal but has gone to bed ok with a couple of brief awakenings and she's resettled well with her dummy. We'll see how the rest of the night goes.

Tibsy, I find lack of reading time annoying too. I've always been a massive reader and when commuting to work on the train would get through a book a week but these days just about manage a page or two before bed. Can't be too challenging either as I don't have the brain capacity.

Well, off to bed, sending sleepy cyber vibes to all

Tamdin · 17/04/2007 21:47

bump for vtm

Tamdin · 18/04/2007 08:04

morning. not often i'm first up
ok night here but ds gone back to co-sleeping this week (which is fine) so he had his usual bottle at 1.30 then up at 6.55 for the day.
how did everyone else get on?

Swizzler · 18/04/2007 08:15

Good here - DS woke crying at about half ten - gave him some medised and tooth gel as his teeth were playing up, and he slept until half three! Then woke again at 6, brought him into bed and snoozed till 7:30. OK, drug induced sleep, but another 5 hours

MaeWest · 18/04/2007 08:26

Hey all, haven't posted for a bit, but have been following the thread. Quite a good night last night. DS slept from bedtime until midnight (nearly 6 hrs), quick boob and then cried at 2am but settled himself whilst I was trying to drag myself out of bed, then big feed at 5am and back to sleep until 7am. He is pretty whingy now, so think will try for a nap, he's currently rolling all over the living room. He also seems to be going thro an irritating short nap phase - 2 30minuters which I am sure is not enough.

Tamdin · 18/04/2007 08:28

sounds like a good night maewest

Amberjee · 18/04/2007 08:38

i had another 'usual'. slept from 7.15 to 11, then til 1.30, then 4.00, then 5.00, then slept on DP's chest for an hour and that's it. there could have been another waking between 1.30 and 4 - but i can't remember properly. actually now that i look at it, it doesn't seem as bad as i thought though i still feel terrible for it! he's having a nap though now. i saw him fading on the playmat and i whisked him up to his cot and he fell asleep straight away. it's all about timing isn't it - pity my timing is usually so terrible.

gingerninja · 18/04/2007 08:48

I'm not sure about mine. DD was unsettled after going to bed so I joined her at 9.30 at which time she was so wide awake I was treated to an hour of kicking thumping and singing anyway, DH gave her a bottle of ebm at 10.30 and she 'slept' until 5 ish. I say 'slept' because I'm pretty certain she woke and I tried to feed her but I can't quite remember. It felt like quite an unsettled night but on paper looks good. She was awake on and off from 5. I think she had wind. (maybe my spag bol!) and she had a pretty hard little poo (don't they stink these days btw, yuk) so think she's a bit bunged up. She seems to have gone off milk a bit at the mo. She didn't seem to feed much at all yesterday and hasn't been interested this morning.

Amberjee · 18/04/2007 12:51

ds settled himself again for a nap. i'm staying at home today to observe his tired signs. may do a quick trip to the shop during an awake phase, but i need to catch up on stuff too, and my back needs a break from carrying him. so am attempting a nap routine of sorts. it just drives me crazy that he can't stay longer than 30 mins.

amijee · 18/04/2007 14:52

amberjee, what I found helped extend the nap and good for my fitness was to walk him thru it at a time I wanted him to nap longer ( such as lunchtime) Once he was asleep, pushing him in the stroller made him do an hr or so.

My ds continues to please me! I do look forward to him coming into our bed to feed at 6am though. Pathetic isn't it? You spend ages trying to get them to sleep thru then you miss them!

tibsy · 18/04/2007 16:54

hi all, been out all day and its been lovely, dd been an angel and no signs of any adverse effects from my spag bol ginger other than, you've guessed it, very smelly nappy. yeuch
swizzler, ami, ginger, tam, amber, mae (hope i didnt miss anyone) - they all sound like good nights
its the hourly wakings that used to kill me.
dd settling better but stirred when i went to bed at 11.15 so i sssshhhed her back off. woke at 1.30 for feed an again at 4. seems to be becoming a regular thing up at 6.55am so not too bad.

anyone heard from maebee?

hope all have good nights tonight. am planning another bookfest if dd allows
