Hey guys, not yet had a chance to read posts but, a great night last night. Went to a friends LOs 2nd birthday, with another friends LO aged 4. Both boys, both adore DD. She had a full day, spend ages in garden, good naps.
8:00pm - 4:15am (old time). BF, straight back to sleep.
4:30am - 6:30am (7:30am new time).

DP and I had an early night. No hanky panky, just sleep! DP never goes to bed before 10pm unless he is really poorly. He was asleep by 9:30pm (had to get up for work at 5:30am, old time). I was asleep by 9:00pm, so had 7 hours sleep!

However, not sure how tonight is going to go. LO missed her afternoon nap, had two full bf and asleep by 7pm new time. She is as confused by us about the time as this should have been 6pm! I thought it was just for a nap, however, she woke at7:45pm for some more milk and back to sleep.

A growth spurt perhaps? Never gone to sleep so early before, I am expecting her to wake any minute and stay awake!

Hope all are ok will check in properly tomorrow

cruisemum1 · 25/03/2007 22:12

FFS! third waking since 7pm. Fuck this. So annoying. What to do???!!! Can't let him get worked up as he will wake dd. Fuckity fuck.

cruisemum1 · 25/03/2007 22:12

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRr

cruisemum1 · 25/03/2007 22:12

Feel like saying Shut the fuck up!

Swizzler · 25/03/2007 22:14

Cruisemum

Have sworn at DS before now - it gets so frustrating when they will not sleep

PavlovtheCat · 25/03/2007 22:34

cruise - I will probably get shot for saying this but...
How about getting up for a bit of reading/tele and a cuddle?
Our LO has woken twice, and if she wakes again we are going to get her up, read her a story and then try again in an hour. We have been strict with sleeping for so long and she has been great, and today is completely f*d up, she doesnt really know what is happening. Just an idea?

compo · 25/03/2007 22:35

cruisemum - just wanted to say I really feel for you and hope you are okay.
Ds and dd were up loads when they both came down with chicken pox a couple of weeks ago, it must be so hard dealing with it all the time {{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}

PavlovtheCat · 25/03/2007 22:53

I found a way to ensure a great nights sleep - take LO to a birthday party, get her to be looked after by 2yr old and 4 yr old and then, sleep!
Cruise - I am so sorry you are having a bad one. I hope your Lo settles and you get some sleep hun

tibsy · 26/03/2007 07:42

cruise hope ds got settled after last night, i was right with you. think she woke about 6 times in all between 7pm and 11.30 ish when i went to bed?

on a plus note tho ladies, she woke at 12.30 for a feed and then, nothing......shes still asleep, go dd go

think the clocks have arsed them around a bit? i know its confused me......then again, doesnt take much lately

hope everyone else had good nights, just folding me laundry, better get on

PavlovtheCat · 26/03/2007 07:56

YEY Tibs, thats fantastic!
My LO went to bed at 7pm (6pm old time), my god! Woke up twice, then slept until 2:30am, woke at 6:00am, seems to have developed a cough and snotty nose , although better now she is awake. So, a good night, shame she did not sleep longer, but to be expected seeing as she went to sleep so early!!!
Here is hoping you get some more MN time before your LO wakes up!

PavlovtheCat · 26/03/2007 07:56

Morning everyone btw, how very rude of me.

MaeBee · 26/03/2007 08:34

cruise - my god, ive been there, and sure i will again, and i have shouted at my lo to shut the f up before, which i always feel bad about afterward, but i think its really normal.poor you cruise, its SOOOO frustrating isn't it? especially cos you know they will be happier if they just f* sleep!!

tibsy - sounds like it went ok?!? did you do pupd the whole time? what did your dp think of it?

my night was a good one again , well, by the standards of us lot on here! he was easy to put down at 7, woke at 8.30 for 3 pupd's, and slept til 11.30 where i fed him, put him straight down with no complaints from him, same again at 2.30, then he slept through til 7. so 3 wakings, and all quite easy to settle.

for me, its really great to wake up and see it says 7 not 6 on the clock!

Amberjee · 26/03/2007 08:36

Swizzler, I have the Kari Me sling. it is an absolute godsend. he always falls asleep within 2 minutes in it and will sleep for hours. good luck ifyou actually want to get your LO to sleep outside of it though!
Kari Me website

Amberjee · 26/03/2007 08:43

that makes sense maebee, his sleep is all over the place in the early morning. though last night he managed to do a 3 x 50 min stretches in his cot, which is way better than most nights at that time, so small blessings I guess. Problem is by the time i settle him, get back into bed, sleep for a few minutes, he is making noises again....
I also went to bed at 7.15 last night while DH settled LO. so don't feel as bad today as usual. i had my dinner at 5.30 - what a nana i've become!
just as an aside, does anyone take their LO's swimming - and know what age you can start? is it dependent on vaccinations or anything? i'm going to look into it. LO loves the water.

youngmum21 · 26/03/2007 09:17

morning all

Had a great nite with dd she went bed at 7 out like a light as she missed her afternoon nap as were out and she wudnt settle, dream feed at 10 she woke up at 2 had a feed bit of a grumble as dummy kept coming out then she slept till 7.45 whoo, the only day i needed her to get up as she was going to the childminders for the morning so i got some me time yay
Childminders the only person she doesnt scream at which is odd as she only met her 3 weeks ago everyone else she has known since birth and she screams at them wots a mum to do!!!

Glad some of ytou had good nites too

Those that didnt big hugs

Feel human again today supriseing wot a few hours sleep can do for yoy isnt it?

Sorry for long post xx

youngmum21 · 26/03/2007 09:20

mind you i did give her medised as her gums seemed to be hurting her and she has got a bunged up nose and i know that suppose to help them sleep!!!

Tamdin · 26/03/2007 09:21

morning all. mixed night here. looks like our recent sleep success may have gone out the window. does anyone know if they have a growth spurt at 14m (please say yes please say yes!)
Used ncss to wean him off bottles at night and he was doing really well at putting himself back to sleep through the night with just his dummy. he's now gone back to seeming really hungry (giving the sign for milk...wish i'd never taught him baby sign!!) and standing up in his cot shouting at me and trying to reach my head (he's still in our room). here's hoping this week will be a good one again x

Amberjee · 26/03/2007 09:22

tibs - that's good to hear your LO naturally weaned herself from the sling to sleep. yay. makes me feel like there's hope for me anyway. it was interesting one day, my LO went from wanting to be held all the time even when he is awake, but now he loves to kick around on a mat on the floor, or in his chair when he's awake and in a good mood. it happened very suddenly. i sort of hope that will happen with the napping in cot thing. one day it will just occur. without me having to life a finger. he he, how lazy am i!!

Amberjee · 26/03/2007 09:29

i'm going to take Lo to baby massage this morning. the last few times he just cried through the whole session, but i've waited a few weeks, and i think he might be a bit more into it this time. i hope it will help him relax and maybe sleep a bit more!

tibsy · 26/03/2007 09:42

tam sounds like growth spurt just go with it, it'll all come right again

mae, dp didnt even have to get dd out of cot, just put his arm round her and pressed his cheek against hers. good to have him on board as he's babysitting sat night

pav cheers me dears!

amber- not dependent on vaccinations now apparently, our pool is freezing tho apparently so has put me off hope lo enjoys massage today

thanks tibs but you know i don't believe you

MaeBee · 26/03/2007 09:56

amberjee - sorry for always comparing, cos of course they are different babies, but with my lo, he got better to be on his own awake first too, and THEN he got, slowly, more into this sleeping on his own thing. naps are currently a nightmare though!!! so, be hopeful about the lazy route, cos i think ive been quite lazy too!
believe me, this pupd is a lazy route compared to all the rocking and ssshing we were doing!
tibsy: sounds like its going dead good!

and im sure 14 mths is a growth spurt!!

Amberjee · 26/03/2007 10:15

good to hear maebee. it has to happen one day!

cruisemum1 · 26/03/2007 10:21

pavlov - ds is 6 mths old so tv/story not on his radar yet! he settled at 10.15pm until 3:30am then again at 4:50am till 7:3-am. just get so frustrated/scared at how long this will go on for. will read posts later - tired now...

tibsy · 26/03/2007 11:36

cruise its a job to know what to do for the best isnt it? how is the weaning off the boob going?

ginger - all ok your way? you've been quiet
