Mumsnet TV show starring Mumsnetters ready to view. Please tell us what you think...

You may remember at the end of 2009 we asked for volunteers to be filmed having the Mumsnet hair cut and take part in a Mumsnet TV makeover etc. Well the final cut of the first Mumsnet e-TV magazine show is now up and ready to view (and before we go any further there's definitely a starring role/Mumsnet book/our undying gratitude for anyone who can think up a snappier title for the show. Anything other than Mumsnet Magazine TV show would be an improvement).

Made for Mumsnetters and starring - who else - Mumsnetters, the current plan is that this will be a regular show bringing you all the MN staples - AIBU, beauty tips, MN makeovers, sleb interviews, some political stuff - the works.

This episode is a trial run to see what works (and what doesn't). We already have an idea of what doesn't work (mostly any time MNHQ get involved/appear ) but we think you'll agree that the Mumsnetters are great - absolutely star material.

You can find the show in the MNTV slot on the right hand side of the page on Chat, AIBU, Site Stuff, webchats, Telly addicts, competitions and active conversations. Please take a minute (or seven) to have a look and then tell us what you think of it. All suggestions and feedback welcome (but do be gentle with us...). Oh and don't forget a name for the show.

Thanks and enjoy,

MNHQ

Perhaps you could have a cooking segment with some lovely MNetters, who then serve the meal to some others (with vino) for a lovely AIBU debate like this before all the fly ladies come in to help clean up?

Yes hundred has the most valid point of all (and I said much the same when the idea was first mooted on here and you wanted people to be s & b guinea pigs) - what is it for? I think the answer to that question is crucial.

TheFoosa · 18/01/2010 18:30

I meant more that you are a very strong personality on MN, yet you looked really sweet & nice on the vid

not that you aren't sweet & nice on here, ok, it's going to seem like a back-handed compliment whatever I say

FredAboutAFred · 18/01/2010 18:30

the grape woman knows the Kray brothers surely?

and her marks ring

Hullygully · 18/01/2010 18:31

The grape woman was a scary loon.

TheFoosa · 18/01/2010 18:31

yes I like her too, she makes me chuckle

FredAboutAFred · 18/01/2010 18:32

shed be my mate in rl.

FredAboutAFred · 18/01/2010 18:32

i also like Justines grey hoody

MayorNaze · 18/01/2010 18:36

was AIBU a real mumsnetter?

i was afraid...

i liked it. a bit twee but i think that's beacuse expressions on here such as norks etc don't necessarily transpose well into rl.

and anything with will young is always good. i want NorkybutNice's hair

FredAboutAFred · 18/01/2010 18:37

i agree i dont see the point

Cyb · 18/01/2010 18:39

It was nice to see Princess Toady and Reality in the flesh...but the whole thing was a bit 'Why Don't you?', remember from Saturday morning TV?

I liked the outfit Princess T had chosen at the end.

ahundredtimes · 18/01/2010 18:42

NorkybutNice was a total doll. I loved her. I also liked Michelle's william morris table cloth, and her mirror, and the glass bricks and brilliant white kitchen behind.

Actually, everyone was grand. I agree with whoever said below how well everyone came across, very natural and friendly.

It's rather growing on me. I might go and watch it again.

ahundredtimes · 18/01/2010 18:43

We do need to know what it's for, because then we can give helpful views. I think.

bibbitybobbityhat · 18/01/2010 18:45

What really would work = Mumsnetters demonstrating their best quick suppers (you know the ones, you don't need a recipe to cook them cos they're old favourites but are quite presentable and healthy). We all pretend we're Delia/Nigella/Nigel when we're cooking sometimes, surely. I could do my chickpea chorizo and spinach stew .

Cyb · 18/01/2010 18:46

I wanted the haircut lady to chop into her ends a bit more rather than lopping it of in a big thick line.

When she finished I could see a big clonky bit that made me twitch

mamazon · 18/01/2010 18:46

so what do MNHQ think about the feedback is it something that will go ahead in the future? will you re think it and try again? or will you cut your losses and shelve it?

How about "Mums'E'tv"(as in mumsie tv?)
If that's really bad, i apologise now lol!

Cyb · 18/01/2010 18:48

I would have liked to see you two getting progressively more bladdered on cheap plonk THEN trying to hot curl your lashes

mamazon · 18/01/2010 18:48

we are clearly a lot more boring than we think Royalty.

i think we're pretty darn hilarious. maybe we are justt too funny for MNTV and they are saving it for something else.

....Outtake TV or something knowing my luck
