The MN Mail Column - what we think, and what we plan to do next... part 3

Part 1 and Part 2 have reached capacity but at least one poster - you know who you are bibbitybobbityhat - was wanting to continue chatting so we thought we'd start another thread so you can continue to tell us your thoughts on the matter.

It may be tomorrow though before we respond -some of us at MN towers a tad worn out after a hectic, but very enjoyable eve, watching Angelina Ballerina ballet in Holland Park with a few of the MNHQ dds - highly recommended (the ballet, that is, not the dds.... though actually they weren't too bad either).

Night all

your art of conversation leaves alot to be desired ......

Fio (nice turn of phrase you chose there) - I can only imagine your denial that BA is/was mn oldie is because you don't know who she is.

The simple fact of BA bumping an old innocuous thread which then turns up as DM mumsnet discussion of the week just seems an incredible coincidence doesn't it when you think about it? Of all the hundreds of thousands of threads on Mumsnet.

I don't believe it was a conicidence. But no one's going to give us any kind of reasonable explanation. So fekkit.

Will namechange again and carry on as before.

I'm not bothered about the column, but one things for sure, it will never be 'today on moldies'...... how long does it take to type zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz?

MrsEricBanaMT · 01/09/2009 18:50

Look, if we want anyone writing about MN, it's better it's an 'oldie' without a grudge. She has just as much right to do what she's doing as much as any of us do. If some people don't like it - tough.

Stick around and you will all be oldies soon enough.

TheEgoHasLanded · 01/09/2009 19:13

lol @ oldie without a grudge....could be a film.

ZephirineDrouhin · 01/09/2009 20:37

MT you're missing the point. The objection is not that LH is an oldie. The objections are:

a) in the first column she used an obviously sensitive thread about someone in quite a vulnerable situation

b) she/the Mail then gave an assurance that only current threads/posts would be used, but in the following week she used some not-at-all-current posts from a thread that was only current because it had been (rather mysteriously) bumped

c) the column makes MN look a load of Dail Mail readers exchanging humourless banalities all day long. Which is only partly true.

MrsEricBanaMT · 01/09/2009 22:45

lol
