mumsnet keeps freezing

Is anyone else having this problem.

For the past 3 days when I go to mumsnet and for instance start by looking at notifications, everything is fine.

Then when I see that a thread has quite few new posts so i think I will go and have a look, links are not longer clickable, and then I get a message saying web site is slowing down my browser.

This is not happening on any other web site I visit.

Is anyone else having this problem.

It hasn't been as bad for me the past couple of days, though know I haven't bothered to spend the time following up on threads etc., because it is just too frustrating.

But did notice that recently the time it froze was when I wanted to start a thread Confused

And the notification page.

Can click on a link saying X number of new posts and it just "slows" that page down.

So in fact it is going to a link on MN web site such as new posts on a thread and the link to start a new post.

The way I have the page set up I cant see any ads being loaded.

But these 2 examples of internal links causing the web site to freeze.

Sorry about 2 previous posts where I didn't bother to read what I had posted.

But just to say and I have had this all day today.

I dont see any ads being the problem.

What has been obvious the last few days is that the site slows down when you click on a link to a part of MN itself.

For example, if you click on notifications the list appears, but then when you click of link saying X number of new posts on an existing thread it just freezes.

And had the same when clicking on create a new thread.

So have not had which I did in the past had it freezing when scrolling through a thread. But that might be that I haven't bothered to do this so much because of past freezing.

And because of how my browser is set, I dont see ads so cant identify whether any of them are causing the page to freeze.

I'm still having issues. Ads are all ready there, so nothing to do with them loading. This is happening when I am in the middle of reading a thread. I get a pop up to say page unresponsive, click wait, or close MN. I click wait multiple times and it keeps happening. The only way to continuing reading anything is to close the tab for MN and open a new one.
Sometimes this works for a while, but then the whole process starts again.

It is ONLY MN this happens on. Not one other site does this.

It’s definitely the ads. Since switching to DuckDuckGo as recommended by a pp no issues.

When is this freezing problem going to be sorted out ?
continuous on safari now affecting google and it’s slowing up other sites as well

It’s really bad this afternoon it’s taken me twenty minutes to read four pages of a thread as it’s constantly reloading & dumping you back on the page you’ve previously read my iPad is also now extremely hot & battery draining really quickly so now giving up for the day.

I agree, but essentially that is a work around.

Has anybody on any browser ever had this problem on any other web site?

I doubt it!

I am experiencing a huge problem with the site constantly freezing on my IPad (Chrome) and IPhone (Safari). The pages won’t load, the subject lines won’t underline and go forward to the thread, and I’m always getting a white screen. When I actually do get as far as typing a message that is longer than one paragraph, it will suddenly disappear before I can submit it. Powering off and on no longer helps. I am not having this problem with any of my other websites/apps. I am close to leaving Mumsnet permanently because of the constant freezing.

This is driving me nuts!

It's always with the Tuscany film ad that seems to wrap around.

Even on DDG when a thread gets to about 700 posts it keeps constantly refreshing so you can’t post for about 5 minutes until it settles down. I presume it’s from an ad trying to load.

Ahh haven’t had that yet
