A few updates to Mumsnet 🎨

You might notice things are looking a bit different today. We’ve given Mumsnet a colour refresh, based on feedback from you in our surveys (thank you!).

We’ve also moved a couple of things around to reduce clutter and make things easier to find:

• Watch now sits under the OP post
• Report has moved into the meatball menu (the three dots on posts)

Glad to see that the colours are going to be customisable. Any update on when you'll be addressing the many other points and the process behind this release?

Will the colour change include the hideous blue across the bottom of the page and on the Active threads page?

Me too. I now pop in and out briefly several times a day, just enough to keep up without giving myself eye strain.

I couldn't agree more. that and the blue text on blue background on the lists of threads are eye-wateringly difficult to cope with for someone like me with poor sight.

Jesus, as if the existing changes weren't bad enough, a fluorescent magenta (?) banner just shot across my screen from the left inviting me to click on a random AMA. It obscured the ribbon of options on the bottom of the screen and didn't go until I clicked it off. That is intensely annoying @KatyMumsnet whatever colour it is.

I know it's trivial but it's really annoying isn't it!

We've also changed 'My Posts' to 'My Post'. The other changes are in progress!

Thank you! I shall wait to turn off the irritating "post flag" thingies until I can have colours that make who has posted, me or the OP or MumsnetHQ, clear; at present I can't really distinguish the backgrounds because they are all such mimsy pastels. Once I can have decent god-fearing green and purple again then I shall joyfully revert to the status ante quo.

Good. Stupid post labels are gone. Now for the blue to calm down to a more pleasing and mature blue, and for the proper OP and my post colours to return. Really not liking the fish paste peach. I think I’ve got OP posts set to grey which looks like a pale blue. Bring back the green and pinky-purple!

I thought this too, but decided to try switching them off and it's so nice without them. I can recognise my salmon-pink posts and just about distinguish OP's washed-out green.

Is anyone else totally confused by the colour choices?

Oh the calamine pink is gone so that’s good!

So far these haven't changed for me. Still washed-out pastels including that awful pink. If I've read MN's update right, the colour changes haven't been implemented yet, just the buttons to switch off the OP/My Post labels.

@NotAtMyAge you can go into settings and choose different colours for your posts and OP’s posts

Same here. I checked and I still have the same pastel colours which aren’t compatible in dark mode so I guess we just have to wait for the other colours to come back

I'm on the paid version and still don't have the old colours back.

But have been able to switch off the My Post and OPs post thingies.

I know that. I've been on MN for a long time now. 😉 I went into my settings and checked before responding to your post and have just rechecked. Still only washed-out pastels to choose from and paying for Premium doesn't make any difference.
