A few updates to Mumsnet 🎨

You might notice things are looking a bit different today. We’ve given Mumsnet a colour refresh, based on feedback from you in our surveys (thank you!).

We’ve also moved a couple of things around to reduce clutter and make things easier to find:

  • Watch now sits under the OP post
  • Report has moved into the meatball menu (the three dots on posts)

As ever, we’d love to hear what you think, so please share your feedback below.

Well I'm very happy. With the new updates MN has suddenly stopped running really slowly which was making it almost unusable. I can cope with the pink and blue if it means the site is suddenly running as it should be.

Mine is automatically scrolling since the changes. How do I stop it from doing that please?

It's horrible. Some colours too bright, others too wishy-washy, the redundant 'My Posts' bit. It's hurting my eyes.

Change it back!

sorry, really don't like the colours being changed. They were fine as they were!!

they are now insipid. I'd like the old ones back please!

Mumsnet Blue was such a nice distinct blue. Now it looks cheap and nasty.

And every time I open active I have to get out immediately as it's so visually disturbing.

No no no - please put 'Watch' back at the bottom as well. Otherwise it is a right pain in the whatsit if you have to scroll right back to the top of a long thread.

I've tried using settings to change colours back but the normal colours are not in the list and they all look bad. Could the old colour scheme be one of the options.

btw I used to be a web designer and I know you probably worked really hard on this. Sorry we all don't like it.

Yes, why not just have the old colours as an option in settings for those of us who preferred that colour scheme?

I've changed my setting back to OP BEING green 4 times now & it's still the new default colour🙇🏻‍♀️

I thinks it's best they just undo the changes as a starting point.

I would like to know this too! I'd be happy to complete the survey, but I have no clue as to what page they are asking about.

Can't even be arsed to copy and paste my moans about the "Active" issue for the nth time, but please MN, just fix the stuff that is broken before tinkering about with colours and brightness and silly red labels.

"My Post" yes, I know it's my post because I bloody well wrote it and it has my username at the top (and it is now highlighted in a fetching, decomposing salmon colour). If the people that you surveyed can't remember who they are or what they wrote then I despair. Maybe we could have cute little animal stickers like you get at nursery to identify your coat peg?

Good description of the new 'magenta' colour !

Thanks so much to everyone who’s taken the time to share feedback on the recent updates, we’re working our way through your comments!

A couple of quick updates:

  • If you’d prefer a different look, you can customise colours under Settings > Talk settings. From there, you can choose how your own posts and threads by author are displayed.
  • We’ll also be adding the Watch button back to the bottom of the page shortly.

I’ve done that. Still way way too bright. Changed the op posts back to green but it is so insipid I chose grey. I miss the old Mumsnet. Please change it back.

On a pc - Dark mode is still too bright - there's no contrast with OP posts and gives too much visual distortion.

Please please change it back, I've tried playing with the different colours for posts and its all too bright and washed out and messes with my eyes.
