You might notice things are looking a bit different today. We’ve given Mumsnet a colour refresh, based on feedback from you in our surveys (thank you!).

We’ve also moved a couple of things around to reduce clutter and make things easier to find:

  • Watch now sits under the OP post
  • Report has moved into the meatball menu (the three dots on posts)

As ever, we’d love to hear what you think, so please share your feedback below.

I've started a poll on AIBU

Could you post a link?

<braces self for vile pink when hitting post>

toffeeappleturnip · 18/09/2025 18:50

Tried dark mode and even worse. No way to find posts by OP. No colours at all

HATE the stoopid 'my posts' giant sticker.

PleaseStopEatingMyStuff · 18/09/2025 18:50

It's really really horrible. The blues way too bright. Whoever you surveyed was lying. When did you do this survey? I didn't fill one in! Can we do a new survey please?! I miss the normal mumsnet!

BunnyLake · 18/09/2025 18:51

👎👎👎👎👎👎

SossijWoll · 18/09/2025 18:52

@LizzyMumsnet for many years I have used the Mumsnet App with very few problems. Since updating my iPhone to the latest IOS 2 days ago, the links in the daily and talk roundup emails, no longer launch in the App - they open in my browser instead. Are there any plans to sort this out please? Thank you muchly Grin

I pressed 'see next' and it was suddenly very bright 😅
I set some custom colours to mark the OP and my own posts, those settings don't seem to have transferred? The OP is blue rather than the previous purple I chose.

So far so good - good idea to make the OP post's more visible.

You can already choose a colour for that so they are already easily visible.

What survey was this? When (and how) was it sent out?

Ivesaidenough · 18/09/2025 18:54

Why have you restricted the colours we can choose? I'd already set mine as I like it and I want purple back. And why do you keep changing things (that aren't broken...)
Agree, it's all way too bright. We're not toddlers.

The 'different' colours for OP's post are the same anyway.

Just very pale murkiness.

Utini · 18/09/2025 19:02

It's too bright. As a migraine sufferer, I'm finding it hurts my head / eyes. Even with the brightness turned down on my phone it's unpleasant.

anotherside · 18/09/2025 19:03

Boooo!!! Boooo!!! Boooooo!!!!

Hobnobswantshernameback · 18/09/2025 19:03

Absolutely awful
But given that you never listen to any user feedback it Clearly here to stay

Kreepture · 18/09/2025 19:12

i appreciate my autism can contribute to issues with change

However.. first impressions.

I HATE IT.

Well.. i can cope with the blue/MN banner stuff colour change but PLEASE give me back my post highlight colours.. i liked purple and sage green.. i'm really not ok with blue and pink!!!!

the pink of my own posts literally hurts my eyes. it's way, way too bright.

Justanotherdramalama · 18/09/2025 19:13

Sorry mumsnet, it's making me feel really sick and my eyes all blurry 😓

MargaretThursday · 18/09/2025 19:14

Who did this survey? Liars?

Netmums 🤣🤣🤣

CoubousAndTourmaIet · 18/09/2025 16:31

It is very bad for migraine or epilepsy sufferers.

Absolutely. I woke up with migraines today and was feeling a bit better as the day went on until I saw the new look and it triggered my migraine again.

There must be some softer shades of blue around. Apparently we can change the colour of OP's and own posts but not this hideous thing inflicted on us.

@LizzyMumsnet Please change it or give us the option to change it

Autumnpug7 · 18/09/2025 19:16

To bright, not nice on my eyes

Needs turning down

toffeeappleturnip · 18/09/2025 19:16

I'm logging off for the rest of the day in protest.

Ksibeij · 18/09/2025 19:16

It's horrible and really garish

Ksibeij · 18/09/2025 19:17

Plus no option to change it on android

Autumnpug7 · 18/09/2025 19:17

Very odd choice of colours ,it's making me squint .really don't like this

ThisChirpyLemonUser · 18/09/2025 19:17

it looks weird and blue light isn't great for eyesight ?

Kreepture · 18/09/2025 19:18

i literally just had to turn on my laptop night light to make it stop hurting my eyes.

How on EARTH can anyone think that's ok?

I think you can change the colours in settings. I use grey for the Op and that’s better though I still hate the klaxon colour of "My Posts" in magenta.

Same here. The blue is just slightly too light against a white background and is making me squint.

DinaofCloud9 · 18/09/2025 19:20

I know people don't adapt to change quickly but it looks shit.

Why do MN change stuff that doesn't need changing but leave the bigger issues alone?
