The last couple of days when I look at Active, or any other section (Gardening, Site Stuff etc) every time I come out of a thread it takes me back to the top, so I then have to scroll past all the threads I've read to get back to where I was. It's very annoying, could you fix it please? Grin I'm on an Android phone, using the desktop site.

Why hasn't this been fixed?

Londonnight · 14/09/2025 06:12

This is happening to me too!! Chrome on laptop. It's really, really annoying to keep going back to the top each time. As someone else pointed out, it's like reading a book which goes back to the beginning each time you turn a page. Not good enough!
Why isn't this being fixed @MNHQ?

Ksibeij · 14/09/2025 14:49

Still happening and no response from @MNHQ ? So crap. I really can't be bothered to use MN like this

JoMumsnet · 14/09/2025 17:13

Hi again, we're sorry that this is impacting many of you. We're still working on a fix and will be back with an update as soon as we can.

Ksibeij · 14/09/2025 22:54

Ah an update! Thanks, at least it's being worked on
Please do sort it and do come back to us to update, @JoMumsnet

Saponarium · 15/09/2025 13:33

Sooo keen for this to be fixed..

Megsdaughter · 15/09/2025 18:10

Having the same problem. Chrome on a Samsung Phone.

Any update?

Cancelthecake · 17/09/2025 10:44

@JoMumsnet

It's been over a week since this issue was first raised here (and it was definitely happening before that). It's a fairly basic function of the site. I see there is a banner asking for feedback on the new homepage (I don't even know where the homepage is?) Instead of tinkering about with the homepage, maybe MN could direct their energy into making the site usable again? Please?

ILoveLukeAlderton · 17/09/2025 10:51

Agree with @Cancelthecake it feels like the users are way down the list after advertisers and God knows who else these days. The site is dated and doesn't function well with constant glitches and issues, I'm getting really tired of it - I've been here over 20 years but it makes me feel like not bothering when the user experience isn't prioritised.

Cancelthecake · 17/09/2025 11:26

Also, if you are going to ask for feedback on a new homepage, then surely there should be a link to the "new" page? I would imagine that most users go directly to active/their preferred topic/threads they are watching rather than start from the home page. If I go to https://www.mumsnet.com/ it doesn't look anything like a home page and I can't see a link to anything that says "home". Is that just me?

Edited to add that I realise I am derailing the thread, but maybe sort the basic issues out first. We're "forced" to accept all the adverts now, and this includes horribly distracting moving images in the right hand corner but nobody is going to see any of the adverts if you make the site so difficult to use that nobody bothers to come on it anymore.

Pippadeck · 17/09/2025 15:28

Can't believe this still hasn't been fixed?

Are MN HQ actively trying to get rid of users? If you are, it's very effective!

Ksibeij · 17/09/2025 18:42

It's still doing it! FGS @MNHQ when is this going to get fixed? It was never a problem until recently

Apprenante · 17/09/2025 18:44

Still happening. Come on Mumsnet! Surely you can do better than this?

Gladysknightjustwalkinmyshoes · 17/09/2025 19:44

It's doing my head in now!!
I'm now more choosy on what I click on because can't be arsed trying to find the next thread I was going to look at.

Deeprug · 17/09/2025 20:45

Im sick of it too! Might have to read an actual book which is what I want to be doing anyway.

DPotter · 18/09/2025 13:29

Any news @MNHQ ? It really is incredibly annoying

JoMumsnet · 18/09/2025 14:15

Hi all,

Sorry for the delay here. We know how frustrating this is and just wanted you to know that we're still working on this issue. Thanks for bearing with us - we'll be back with an update as soon as possible.

Seeline · 18/09/2025 18:00

@JoMumsnet @HebeMumsnet perhaps you could stop mucking around with the colours, which people were happy with and sort out the problems that people really have issues with!

This is making MN unusable - it's impossible to find new threads if you just keep getting thrown to the top of the list every time!

Pippadeck · 18/09/2025 20:01

I can't believe they've been pissing around changing the bloody colour when they have a highly user-friendly issue like this.. I'm starting to wonder if the MN technical team are also in charge of my local council with their backwards priorities.

Deeprug · 18/09/2025 20:18

I think I might be out now as these new colours are really hurting my eyes.

MsAdoraBelleDearheartVonLipwig · 18/09/2025 21:58

Me too. iPhone 15. On app I think. Not safari.

Does it when clicking back to active convo’s. Been doing it for ages.

Yes I agree! Why on earth is MN putting energy into (horrible) site changes like the nasty blue colour when they should be focussing on fixing issues like what this thread is about and making the site actually usable..

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 19/09/2025 06:34

And yet you've had time to mess around with and add some really odd colours that are quite jarring to the eye.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/09/2025 06:35

I hate the new colours

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/09/2025 06:37

And I hate the ‘My posts’ and‘original user’ boxes. The colours already do that job.
