Full page (gross) Ann Summers adverts

I've added a picture, though I don't know if it will be allowed. Ann Summers adverts have been popping up mid thread for a few days, mostly pictures of women in thongs and stockings from behind though also a model with crosses over her nips in some sheer thing. It's so embarrassing if I'm browsing MN in the queue for Pilates or at a coffee shop and someone looks over my shoulder and sees these tacky, porny images.

I thought ads were targeted but I have never visited the Ann Summers site in my life and never would - it's all nasty polyester, I feel itchy just seeing the adverts. I'm surprised ads featuring naked bums are ok on Mumsnet - it's really putting me off scrolling! Shouldn't they be blocked?

Because it isn't quite an echo chamber on here yet. And prudes need to know other people think they're silly.

Getting new ads with women in their underwear on this very page now. Hopefully you can all cope with these ones or Mumsnet may have to ban every picture of a woman not in full purdah just to be on the safe side.

Yes but the screenshot you've provided is a fairly vanilla underwear ad. You see similar on bus shelters and billboards. The AS ones were very different, featuring bondage gear and sex toys. That I do not want to see, at least not when I'm browsing mumsnet in my local cafe or when my kids are wandering past!

I find it astonishing that some posters on this thread, who presumably imagine they're "cooler" than any other woman, can't see the difference between the particular Ann Summers ads we found offensive and ads for normal underwear.

It most certainly doesn't, if I'm shopping for vibrators. Or on a sex related thread here. When I'm on a thread about education for example, it's intrusive and odd. You'd think the ads would be more targeted to specific topics, that would be fine.
