Remove Fife Threads from Trending?

Could MN consider removing the numerous “Nurse Fife” threads from the Trending section? There are several new ones a day, thousands of posts, most of them pretty inane (“Can’t wait.” “I’m still on thread 29.” “Signing on” etc etc.) Because they are so active the entire Trending section will fill up with them (Nurse Fife #24, Nurse Fife #25, Nurse Fife #26, and so on). You have to manually hide every single one and then there’s another new one in a few hours.

Can they just be removed from the Trending section? I’m sure the people interested know where to find them by now.

With a user name like Shitmonger you'll be a great fit for NHS Fife Press Officer.

It's always funny seeing posters say 'no-one's taking about this - it's such a niche issue!!'

Front page of the Scotsman on Saturday yesterday. The Scotsman is one of the widest read newspapers in Scotland. That will have been on every newsstand.

Granted, that's just here. But it's definitely being talked about.

I don't agree it should be removed. The whole case is coming to its conclusion. It's gripping! The whole world needs to know of the appalling treatment of Sandie Peggie and the madness, cruelty and ineptitude that led to this poor woman's situation. She is amazing, as are the women from sex-matters.org/about-us/ who are supporting her. Sandie is holding NHS Fife accountable, and the reason why is important for all women. Just ignore it if you are not interested.

Exactly this. It is very easy to just not read something if you aren't interested in it. There are many, many people who do want to read a contemporaneous account of this very important case because they know that most of the MSM reporting is full of lies and misinformation.

anyolddinosaur · 20/07/2025 19:32

No-one's talking about it - so why are all these newspapers covering it? https://tribunaltweets.substack.com/p/press-coverage-s-peggie-v-fife-health?r=1gxdhb

porridgecake · 20/07/2025 19:34

Why would anyone want to actively stop people reading about this case?

anyolddinosaur · 20/07/2025 19:36

Well Nhs Fife did their very best to stop anyone knowing about it. If you were that incompetent you'd probably want to keep it quiet too.

Because they are part of the leadership of NHS Fife? Or the Scottish Government?

i joined mumsnet because of the coverage of the NHS Fife case, that thread is so helpful for keeping up to date with all of it and really details the NHSF incompetence especially things you may not have picked up on!

Helleofabore · 21/07/2025 09:27

Oh noes OP! A new NHS Fife saga thread has been started. And they will really fill up quickly this week. Maybe you just have to hide each one when they start otherwise it might be like whackamole after the revelations last week and over the weekend!

Thoughts and prayers OP.

porridgecake · 21/07/2025 14:07

As pp said, the full threads don't stay in trending. Once interested parties have read them they move on to the active one. There is only one relevant thread in trending today, so it isn't an issue.
