Thread Deleted ( Parts 1,2,3, and 4)

AnneKipankitoo · 05/03/2025 11:18

I saw that thread 4 was deleted with the message
about breaking Mumsnet guidelines.
The 3 previous threads were deleted too.

Which guidelines were broken?

I thought the mods were going to put better deletion notes going forward when they kept doing vague messages last year.

Is it a PBP, or a new troll, or privacy concerns or what? 4,000 posts means a lot of people were trying to help and offer advice. It might not have helped the OP but the advice could have helped another poster going through something similar.

But if threads aren't deleted when a poster gets banned, it just encourages the attention trolls to sign up and do it again.

Not that I'm saying that's what happened here, as obviously we have no idea - hence the OP starting this thread.

rooftopfix · 05/03/2025 11:55

Surely MN would notice a previously banned poster before 4000 replies on one of their posts?

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 05/03/2025 11:57

Somebody truly humiliated about oversharing wouldn't have posted it at all. I'm surprised it had so much traction but then again, not really that surprised.

I thought it was fiction from the start. The way it was written and kept escalating, fast moving over a number of threads - it's usually a sign.

Yes - always interesting how it gets worse and worse. I read the OP of thread 2 and saw how much it had moved on from thread 1 and instantly closed it.

SerafinasGoose · 05/03/2025 12:02

No shit.

questioneverything1 · 05/03/2025 12:03

@Vroomfondleswaistcoat thank you

On tattle they've had it sussed as made up from the start. I didn't read any of the threads so can't comment on the content but it does seem remarkable slow of MNHQ to delete if it was fake

Sorry, to clarify - if OP just wanted them to be deleted "because " then they should stay as the answers might help another poster. Trolling or PBP should be deleted.

Londonismyjam · 05/03/2025 12:07

What’s PBF please?

FuckedOverByBuilder · 05/03/2025 12:08

I won't comment on what I think of the thread itself but agree with the Op that considering how many posters were on them, the deletion message is very vague and it would be good to know why it was deleted rather than leave it to speculation

They don't sit and read the threads, they rely instead on reports.

It's possible they eventually looked into it after a few reports came in.

PBP
Previously Banned Poster

Does it count as a threat about a thread if you are asking a question about it on site stuff

I put 4 reports in on 3rd one

I wouldn't have thought so. It's not really a 'thread' as such is it, it's just people asking about how it works. I think it degenerates into a thread if people start talking about the actual posts specifically and pulling them apart.

FuckedOverByBuilder · 05/03/2025 12:11

I've reported this thread simply to flag it to MN and asked if they will comment

Avelina · 05/03/2025 12:11

If your life was quite literally completely falling apart in the way the OP detailed, would your main focus really be updating mumsnet? Especially in AIBU, where you know it's going to get a lot of traction and attention

offmynut · 05/03/2025 12:12

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 05/03/2025 11:22

Yes it was.

No one has commented or asked if OP could update. The issues is MN have deleted all 4 threads which is an unusual move and signifies something was not at it seems

This thread is asking MN to comment, not OP

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 05/03/2025 12:15

Of course it was.

I gave the OP the benefit of the doubt but alarm bells rang at the mention of the "rusty..." sex thing and then when they updated this morning about staying with him, I was like "right..."

SlightlyJaded · 05/03/2025 12:15

I think MN have to accept that when people give time, energy and emotional support to FOUR threads that disappear - there will be a TAAT

I wrote at least four posts across those threads and I usually think really carefully about what advice I would give a friend IRL - rather than just bash out something on my keyboard. I think the deletion notes from MNHQ should be more specific in respect of people's time and emotional energy spent @MNHQ

YourIcyReader · 05/03/2025 12:15

I’m surprised it lasted as long as it did, it was so obviously nonsense.
