FYI: I've name changed for this to avoid a pile-on.

This post is about the overwhelming negativity and hostility with the FWR board that new posters and posters with a differing viewpoint face if they attempt to use the board.

There is a persistent group within the board that are, to put it simply, hateful towards others. Despite posting there on and off for more than 4 years, I have never felt welcome, despite not holding any particular extreme views or being abusive to others. Without exception, I am accused of being another poster, or a man, a TRA, or some kind of paid activist. This occurs again and again until I leave a thread in frustration.

I’ve seen this happen to many other new posters. Few return. Why would they? Such an acidic atmosphere doesn’t encourage healthy discussion. I’d just like to discuss women’s rights, but this board makes discussion impossible.

I’m not exactly sure what the answer is, except for @MNHQ to request the board to tone down the rhetoric a bit and back off on any new names they may see on the board. Let people engage with you rather than actively drive them away.

Where did I say it was my debating style? I was referring to someone else. I can back up what I say though. You haven’t evidenced that you can.

Agreed. Not sure that post shows quite what the poster thinks it shows.

And surely posting a deleted post on a thread is against talk guidelines? I mean, if it was deleted, why would it be appropriate to post again?

As Ive said several times, the Civil People don't seem to think they have to practice what they preach.

It proves that the FWR board is not full of the scintillating perspicacity of the wisest women amongst us. It's full of aggression and insults.

This whole thread proves that very nicely. You can high five each other until your hands fall off - ultimately when your best comeback is insulting other posters intelligence, it makes for a very shit argument and a deeply unpleasant board overall.

Who is going to stick around for this?

I mean, remember Wes, that some posters are to be disparaged because they are SAHM from people who are supposed to be feminists.

We have seen posters say this and this was some kind of wonder insight for someone visiting a feminist board.

Quite rich using ‘makes for a shit argument’ whilst simultaneously not offering anything of value.

Sweeping generalisations and attacks on posters who are commenting on a thread in site stuff , doesn't achieve the gotcha you think it does.

But your post would stand. You'd still be able to see what you said.

I still think it's a weird thing to do, but to each their own.

Quite funny feels like a Judge Judy gotcha moment when the defendant said something like:

So if you want a decent argument/debate, in that time could you maybe have thought up reasons as to why biological men should take part in women’s sports, be present in rape counselling sessions that women want to be women only? Why men should be placed in women’s prisons? Why rape victims should address her attacker as she?

Ultimately can you answer why men with an identity come before women who just want spaces away from men. The nice ones and the bad ones. Why are their needs second?

I won’t hold my breath.
