This post is about the overwhelming negativity and hostility with the FWR board that new posters and posters with a differing viewpoint face if they attempt to use the board.

There is a persistent group within the board that are, to put it simply, hateful towards others. Despite posting there on and off for more than 4 years, I have never felt welcome, despite not holding any particular extreme views or being abusive to others. Without exception, I am accused of being another poster, or a man, a TRA, or some kind of paid activist. This occurs again and again until I leave a thread in frustration.

I’ve seen this happen to many other new posters. Few return. Why would they? Such an acidic atmosphere doesn’t encourage healthy discussion. I’d just like to discuss women’s rights, but this board makes discussion impossible.

I’m not exactly sure what the answer is, except for @MNHQ to request the board to tone down the rhetoric a bit and back off on any new names they may see on the board. Let people engage with you rather than actively drive them away.

It’s not even the study you post that is upsetting. It’s the way you speak to people that makes it unbelievable that you would be accusing others of nastiness.

And it was not meant to be a threat, it is pointing out that the thread could easily devolve further into this type of behaviour. You also know yourself that you have had posts deleted by the mods.

Oh God, don't mention that bloody study. It's like saying bloody Beetlejuice (or bundles) on here. And any mention of the issues with self id in say, Spain or Germany are handwaved away. Or the shitshow of women's reproductive rights in Malta.

I do wonder if the UK as plummeted down that league given that the Queen is no longer Head of State.

So apart from everything else that posters on FWR have to do, all the hoops that don't apply to any other board, all the evidence and references and stuff, they now have to be a welcoming committee and cross reference new names and be extra specially nice to new names to avoid banning and suspension?

I never hold in my head who has posted there and who hasn't and unless you are volunteering to keep a spreadsheet and flag a new user there is no fathomable way you think this is workable. So it can only be another drive by scolding of women doing wrong speak.

Here's just one of them from a recent thread. Is it allowed to stand if I don't name the thread? There's more than one. If I remember correctly you accused someone of 'not being able to read' because they disagreed with you.

I've already posted a quoted example of a personally abusive post by a FWR regular here, and in the post I've asked Mumsnet if I can post a compilation of similar.

Some posters here seem to be suggesting they don't like this idea, quelle suprise, and think it is against posting guidelines, so I am waiting for the go ahead from Mumsnet to continue.

Can you answer why the top countries in the world to be a women have stayed at the top of the tables for years after their introduction of gender self -ID?

Surely they would be falling down the tables now if self ID was so incompatible with the wellbeing of women?

Very very very few of the women in FWR actually hate trans people. Most like me just want men to stay out of our spaces. But you know this Maddy

And this is a great example of the hyperbole that people have referred to in this thread.

I don't think that there is any significant % of FWR regulars who 'hate trans people', I cannot even think of one who does. It is remarkable that someone makes comments like these, because it does shine a beacon on the often ignored female people who have transgender identities as well. Quite a few of us have female people with transgender identities in our everyday lives and certainly don't 'hate' them.

And yet, this mantra of 'you hate trans people' keeps getting rolled out.

This is the same FWR forum that hero worships Kelly Jay Keen / Posie Parker and has threads maxed out over 1000 posts for her right??

The same person who advocates employers refused work to trans people and landlords refuse housing to trans people, yeah..?
