Banner advert in the app

Hi MNHQ,

There's a banner ad appearing in the ap (at the top) that makes the app visually really annoying to navigate. Will it be there permanently? It would be less bad at the bottom! Thanks!

Animated advert very disturbing from an accessiblity standpoint. And then swaps to another add frequently

Here as well, iOS. It wasn't like that this morning so the app may have updated itself automatically.

The banner is especially annoying when paired with the in thread ads.

The gambling and monopoly ones are fucking annoying. If I want to see a slot machine flashing away I'll go to the pub.

I hate this, it seems to intrude on my field of vision far more than ads lower down that we can scroll past

Yes it really does, especially as it's at the top. Every time I pull down to refresh feed I end up clicking on the advert by mistake 🙄

It dominates the screen (which I suppose is its purpose) but flickers when scrolling.

I have it too - updated the app today. I really really dislike it. Very distracting. I much preferred seeing the ads as part of the thread. Please change it back.

I have this too and I can't remove it even after pressing 'report ad', the banner remains and the same ad comes straight back.
It's very annoying especially when paired with the usual ads that are strategically placed where your thumb lands when scrolling!

Me too. iOS running the latest version of everything. It's really annoying. The app keeps crashing too.

I hate it- especially as it's the multi colour flashing sort.

I have it too, for the first time today, it's hateful all that movement.

And it's one of the smaller screen phones so takes up even more of the screen.

I've checked a few other apps and they haven't had this inserted, so not the system.

I have this too. Moving ads are a nightmare for me. They trigger migraines. Please make it stop.

Same here, annoying ad at the top that I've accidentally clicked on a couple of times. I'm on the app on my iPad. Guess it will help me cut down on my time on Mumsnet.

Also has it today (IOS), really very annoying. Also really don't want gambling ads, not relevant at all, and possibly quite triggering for some.

iOS and I will stop using site on phone if it stays! I did not gamble and think that this advertising on this kind of site is morally wrong

Who is it that app uses get the worst deal. No voting, no thank you button, shite ads, shite search function, and no direct access to private messages. I don't use a laptop or PC at all, just my phone, and I don't see why we should miss out on features.
