@HebeMumsnet
Thanks for the (unusually!) quick reply.
But you must see that you have in no way addressed the issue? So giving a supposedly helpful description of the problem and essentially saying 'sure, we can't do anything about it' is not addressing it?
On no other application that I use have I encountered this combination of issues (usability + screen space + type of ad).
I keep saying that fortunately, it means I spend much less time on MN - which is getting increasingly unpleasant, though there's obviously still great posters and useful information embedded within it.
How can it make business sense to just accept that you have created a platform that's mostly unusable, that you cannot fix and the only remedy is a new app (much talked about over a period of time)?
I think I've realised that there's no solution or any idea in MNHQ how to achieve one. In your update post (yes, the convoluted one!) you said: but once an issue is reported to us, we take immediate action to track and block anything offensive or otherwise unsuitable.
It seems mad that you rely on users to let you know - so surely now you know the Monopoly ads appear, and have been emailed many times about them - why are they still there?
Have you no internal testing processes? You can't just say, we'll hope for the best with this programmatic advertising - can you?
I think I'm done with trying to report it and ask for the issues to be addressed, and will leave the thread here.
