To be bored of the trans hate?

1000 replies

DaisyUpsy · 10/07/2023 09:54

Ok, there are extremists (like the punch people in the face person), extremists can be found in many areas of life but is anyone else fed up of the trans stuff constantly being dragged up?

I've seen some ridiculous statements on here recently. Everything gets something added related to trans when it's totally irrelevant. It's getting boring. Trans extremists are not the norm so can we stop pretending they are?

Don't worry I have also been called a terf a bigot by TRAs as well.

Homophobic is a new one though.

I didn’t call you homophobic, haven’t read all posts but just wanted to be clear on that.

JudgeAnderson · 10/07/2023 12:26

Many of you will have to get used to being bored then as while the erasure of biological women continues, there will be pushback.

NewNameNigel · 10/07/2023 12:24

Is this address to me? I am not sure what point you are making about the post, could you clarify?

Yes it’s your post. In point one in elite sport

Actually you say you are ok with sex segregated so I assume they will be with other males is that right?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/07/2023 12:27

Ok, there are extremists (like the punch people in the face person),

In case anyone doesn't know what's being referred to here, a violent, unhinged male ex con who cut off and ate their own testicles to stop them being reattached was exhorting the crowd at the Trans Pride event to punch gender critical feminists (like me and many other women on this thread) in the face. Politicians have given weaselly "both sides" comments, and the police have said that it's basically just freedom of expression, soz.

YABU. Gender ideology is toxic and causing so much harm. It's the biggest threat to female rights in my lifetime.

If we cannot define ourselves as a sex class separately from males then our rights mean nothing.

I'm so fed up with males colonising and appropriating what belongs to females. Enough.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/07/2023 12:29

It is. I'm living through the most misogynistic time I've ever experienced. We have gone backwards in respect for women and girls.

@ZuttZeVootEeeVo

Totally agree

@NewNameNigel , I don't agree with some of these, but I would happily debate all with you respectfully as a GC woman. However, I think you need to understand that these views would not be acceptable to TRAs, since they basically admit that trans women are not women for all purposes (or if you want to say they are women, we need to use the "female" category to make the distinction and have the debate about when sex matters). Most gender critical women just want this point acknowledged, so that we can then get on with debating where exactly the lines would and should be drawn. Most gender critical women want to centre women's safety, privacy and dignity in this discussion, because the very fact that, for example, prisons and sports competitions have been made mixed sex without this discussion having been had openly shows that women are not considered equal in terms of protections to male people, which makes us very angry.

(Personally, I don't agree with you that a woman should be required to have a cervical screening from a trans woman or a bedbath from a trans woman if that is who she is allocated or be denied NHS care entirely - I think that's quite extreme to be honest, given that most carers doing these roles are female so it is unlikely that the NHS cannot substitute someone else. Some women might be fine with it with a chaperone, just as they might be fine with a male person identifying as male doing it with a female chaperone. The point is that it is unreasonable to expect women to pretend someone doing their intimate care is also female when they are very clearly not if they are deeply uncomfortable about this, for example if they have been raped in the past.)

The whole crowd must have been extremists then, given that they all cheered enthusiastically. But they have Sadiq Khan's full support, of course.

YesLittleElephant · 10/07/2023 12:31

You are being unreasonable, and dangerously so. If you don't understand the issues then you are a very big part of the problem, and a gift to the fascist's playbook.

And the Labour MP who said women are just as bad apparently.

Sure all those sick of the hate, feel free to link same threats of violence

What people are also not acknowledging is that some male people find the power tripping exciting, that they can make women uncomfortable, scared or humiliated and women can't speak up about it. It's wrong to put women in that position. When a male violates women's boundaries, it's a red flag for me.

It’s not the fact that that this extremely violent unhinged criminal repeatedly breaks the terms of his lifetime licence conditions by calling for violence against women, but that the Metropolitan police, the Mayor of London and Pride organisations all condone his behaviour.

The police are supposed to trying to win back the confidence of women thanks to their track record of raping and murdering us but don’t bat an eyelid when this person and many others call for physical violence against us. Signs at demos read “Decapitate terfs” “Punch a terf”. An early demo carried an effigy of a lynched ‘terf’. They have dehumanised us and can threaten us with impunity.

Many MPs are silent, the major institutions that pour £millions into trans projects are silent, womens ‘feminist’ groups are silent. No one will dare condemn that person because he is not just some extremist on the fringes of this - he IS a major voice of the movement. He chums up with senior Labour politicians and shares a platform with them. They have sworn to advance his ‘rights’, regardless of the cost to others.

If you’re not very worried, you don’t understand the issue.

BibbleandSqwauk · 10/07/2023 10:01

I'm more concerned about the fact that anyone who dares who point put that the emperor is naked gets villified and called "phobic". There was a case a year or so ago of a 6th form girl who questioned a speaker about trans issues at her school - was bullied, called transphobic and ended up sitting her A levels at home. Totally fine for people to call themselves whatever they like, wear whatever they like etc, but at some point, as with ALL rights (eg free speech) it butts up against someone else's right and a choice has to be made. I'll choose biological reality over a preference anytime.

This x 1000

msmonstera · 10/07/2023 12:40

I am very liberal and support anyone living however makes them happy, when it doesn't hurt anyone.
Kicking the sex-based rights of biological women under a bus hurts women.
I don't agree with it being transphobic bigotry to say that for example male rapists shouldn't be in women's prisons. Biology isn't hate speech, it's a reality. Biological males shouldn't be allowed to cheat at female sporting competitions. And anyone who's ever met men would know that allowing all men unfettered access to female spaces puts women at risk. Women's safety is not collateral damage for male mental health problems.

IAmSalmaFuckingHayek · 10/07/2023 12:40

15 pages in and I’m still waiting for even one example of GC extremism….

NewNameNigel · 10/07/2023 12:40

@ChatBFP that illusive middle-ground that many posters earlier claimed did not exist!

Personally, I don't agree with you that a woman should be required to have a cervical screening from a trans woman or a bedbath from a trans woman if that is who she is allocated or be denied NHS care entirely

This isn't quite what I meant and I think I should clarify.

I meant that the NHS has a finite number of appointments and staff able to carry our certain procedures. If, for example, you turn down a cervical screening from someone and the next person is happy to have it from them they will get in before you. In a situation where there aren't many staff then, for something urgent, the wait for someone you are happy with might be so long that you chose to go private.

I absolutely did not mean that people should not be allowed NHS care. I was thinking about practicalities in an already stretched NHS with finite staff.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/07/2023 12:41

And anyone who's ever met men would know that allowing all men unfettered access to female spaces puts women at risk. Women's safety is not collateral damage for male mental health problems.

Exactly. When women support this stuff, knowing what many men are like, it beggars belief.

YANBU, it’s why most under 30’s don’t touch this site with a barge pole. Needlessly hateful, but then again the general demographic on AIBU especially feeds into it

Do these under-30s know that many of us over-30s (a lot more ancient, actually), have trans family and friends we grew up with, and love? And that these trans people have just wanted to live productive lives free of violence and real discrimination? That these trans people had to go through a lot, not just claim victimhood by putting on a dress and lippy? That they are now equally appalled at the ‘new-trans’ aggression and targeting of lesbians and ‘terfs’? That they’re pissed off about fake retro-transing of gay men and lesbians, and the accompanying historical distortion. And so on and so forth. But they’re the wrong sort of T, aren’t they, and must be shouted down as well. Look at the attacks on Buck Angel and others of that vintage who dare to speak with clarity and compassion on the issue. But then, contemptuous dismissal is easier than critical thinking. Ironic how ‘lived experience’ doesn’t count unless it toes the Party line…

AccidentallySuckedTheStrippersDick · 10/07/2023 12:42

I don't hate trans people at all, my gay son is dating a trans indentified man and they are very nice. We've openly supported them and will continue to do so , Christ, we housed them both when they came to this country to stay with my son for a month at a time.

But I still know men can't become women and I feel nothing but sadness that my sons partner had such a rocky start to life that they felt the only way out was to try to become a whole other person. They've gone down the medical rabbit hole, cross sex hormones, testicles removal . No end of health issues caused by the "treatment" and I'm furious that the American system allowed them to be operated on despite the horrific childhood sexual abuse and mental distress this person has been through as a child. Despite the drug and alcohol issues they have . The surgery hasn't improved anything for their mental health either.

In my daughters high school, they allow boys into the girls toilets if they identify as female. My daughter has shockingly bad periods and likely has endo and PCOS like her sisters. She's terrified, absolutely scared silly that these boys will look under/over the doors while she is changing her sanitary towel and trying to clean herself up with baby wipes. Why? Because it's happened to other girls. This has led to 6 days in the last 4 months that she has flat out refused to go to school on her heaviest days. She's got a calendar and is ticking the days off until she leaves school because at college she can use the disabled toilet and actually have the privacy she needs to be able to function outside the house as part of society.
