Hi,

The Nicola Bulley thread must have been hidden overnight by nightwatch. I wasn't on it at the time to see what happened.
Are we allowed the post back or are we not allowed to discuss it now?

But what else is anyone going to say that hasn't already been said 6000 times before?

ofwarren · 11/02/2023 12:19

milkyaqua · 11/02/2023 12:16

You don't think 6000 plus posts in these threads alone on the topic is enough? If people are so 'concerned" they can light a candle and say a prayer. It's bullshit. A missing most probably dead woman is not entertainment.

Imagine thinking people shouldn't discuss a case which is on the front page of every newspaper and is on a prime time tv documentary 🙄

It's an active case! Of course there are things to discuss.

Exactly.

It is an active case. Not entertainment. And while at times, commentary in the public domain is warranted, a live, ongoing case, with a family in the throes of the worst moments of their lives at the centre, is not that time, and not for you to discuss obsessively as you have done, sadly.

Absolutely this.

It's an ongoing case!
New information comes/came to light. The red van, the details of when and where the phone was.
There was plenty to discuss, that's why we were on thread 7.

Everyone is at liberty to discuss this case. It is all over the news and papers. If you don't like it just walk on by.

A tired lazy response. People are also entitled to express their discomfort at the existence and prevalence of these threads & not be expected just to 'hide' it or walk by.

It’s not your job to decide what’s appropriate to discuss. If you don’t want to partake, just don’t. Why on earth do you think you should be able to influence what other people talk about?

Alliwantistobe · 11/02/2023 12:23

I don't think it seems quick. Theyre in a routine and she arrives home at the same time so he knew something was wrong.

My DM gets to my house at 4.15 every day. If she hadn't arrived by 4.45 I would be ringing to check she's ok. If there was no answer and still no sign of her by 5, I would be gone to look for her.

EarringsandLipstick · 11/02/2023 12:24

Actually it is not. The case is now being given a certain amount of attention & updates by the media - most of it - and is not front & centre of every bulletin.

Precisely as it's a tragic family matter, and while at some point, there will be an update and hopefully outcome, there is little new to report at this point.

(The prurient media is of course inappropriately milking the situation)

DontGoBreakingMyHeart · 11/02/2023 12:11

It’s high time these threads were removed.

There isn’t actually anything to discuss any more. Any discussion about this is pure gossip and speculation.

And given the family have seemingly started taking part in independent documentaries already, if the police aren’t telling the family anything, then it’s not hard to see why.

Yet here you are speculating and insinuating

EarringsandLipstick · 11/02/2023 12:26

There was plenty to discuss

Plenty to speculate and gossip about, I think you mean - this is a tragic case for a family and her close friends. Why do you think it's appropriate to post endlessly on it - on 7 threads?

EarringsandLipstick · 11/02/2023 12:27

Why on earth do you think you should be able to influence what other people talk about?

Why shouldn't I??🤔 I'm offering an alternative opinion to those who believe endless speculation is appropriate.

Why does that opinion not count equally?

Again, what business is it of yours? Why do you think it’s appropriate to be on here admonishing people?

Well, what business is this tragic case of any of the posters championing the endless threads?

I'm commenting about how inappropriate I think these threads are. Why is that not permissible, if you are all for people having the right to discuss and offer opinions? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Christmaspyjamas · 11/02/2023 12:29

Utterly bizarre and distasteful sense of entitlement here that someone provide you with a forum to speculate ignorantly on a missing woman.

Have you really nothing better to do...maybe volunteering?

NightsThatStartWithWhiskey · 11/02/2023 12:30

30-45 mins seems very quick to be checking someone’s whereabouts and preparing to go out looking for them doesn’t it?

Not really. She would have probably been expected to be home to work so wouldn’t have just chatted to a friend for ages.

If my partner was 45 minutes later back from dropping our daughter off at school, that he does every day, didn’t call and didn’t answer his phone, I’d know something had happened. I wouldn’t be panicking, but I’d be wondering what was wrong. He has to start work so wouldn’t be late unless something had happened. It’s not like being 45 minutes later home than you said from a night out when you’re not going to be late got anything. It was daytime and the routine was kids, dog walk, work at home.

EarringsandLipstick · 11/02/2023 12:31

@ofwarren

Exactly. 'Prurient media' as I said. It's typical tabloid exploitative reporting.

In the other papers & broadcasts, it's covered but with less highlighting, focus & clickbait style writing

EarringsandLipstick · 11/02/2023 12:32

@ofwarren

Can you not see the difference in how the Times reports it? And the Guardian pieces? And on BBC?

You want the headlines from all the local press too?
International press?

It's seven threads long because they have filled up quickly with those protesting as well. @EarringsandLipstick you are a major contributor to this thread whether you like it or not. This is said respectfully.

For someone who thinks it shouldn’t be discussing it at all, you seem to be spending a lot of time on here covering it and have spent a lot of time reading all the news reports.

Lavenderzen · 11/02/2023 12:35

Bless you EarringsandLipstick.

Hillsmakeyoustrong · 11/02/2023 12:35

My DH would be concerned if I was nearly 45 minutes late and not answering my phone. And given that she would usually be home at 09.45 would imply she should have been on her way to the car at 09.20 if not in it. Not sat on the bench.
