Post deleted/hidden overnight

Hi,

The Nicola Bulley thread must have been hidden overnight by nightwatch. I wasn't on it at the time to see what happened.
Are we allowed the post back or are we not allowed to discuss it now?

I certainly hope the thread comes back or at least a new one. There are a lot of people very concerned about Nicola.

I wasn't on last night. I think there were quite a few posts running up to the time I logged out that were questionable and will have been reported. It could be that.
You have done a sterling job with all of the threads you have created.

Yeah I know! It was getting a big argumentative tho on here 1 person saying such a thing and quite a lot of disagreement which the person was acusing something so I think it may of been that.

It is a shame but following the partner’s tv appearance there have been all these wise Hmm people saying he definitely “did it” or is at the very least dodgy.

Yesterday there were posters talking with rather aggressive certainty about the state of NB’s mental health. I found that distasteful.

Discussing where she could be and the progress (or lack of) of the case is one thing, but sadly some people are rubbing their hands salaciously and those posts are ugly.

@mumsnet if you are deleting whole threads because some people start accusing family members, it will mean that any discussion of the case gets pulled by derailers who don't want us to talk about it. All they have to do is post "x person done it" and they can effectively get the whole thread removed.
How is that fair?
Delete the individual posts, not the whole thing!

I didn't get to the end but it was getting derailed by speculation regarding PA.

I think it reasonable to want to discuss the case and probably helpful to keep it in everyone's mind.

This is the problem with these people who are determined to derail a thread. MNHQ should just delete the posts and advise the poster in question it is not appropriate - not just take the whole thread down. It is unfair to people who are following the case and are genuinely concerned.

In that case, people will derail on purpose just to get threads they don't like pulled. How is that fair?

I saw this morning it was hidden, but didn’t see what led to it, it was fine when I left it. So I assumed it must have got a bit heated between the speculate do not speculate brigades.

Websleuths has some interesting discussion. There's a post about a Strava account - someone who visited the area from the village in the window after the phone and Willow was found, the route they took and why they may be of interest.
