Scam diversions/pop-ups

When on MN, I keep getting diverted to a website telling me that my McAfee sub has expired, & click on the link to renew.

I do use McAfee, but it has not expired.

I ONLY get this on MN , despite having c.20 other windows open.
Anyone else get this scam via MN ?

I had this yesterday. Couple of times the screen just turned red with a message saying the site (ie MN) was unsafe. Then I got the message saying McAfee subscription had expired. I was fairly certain it hadn't so luckily didn't click anything.
Edge, Windows 10 .

Just happened to me, having happened a few times yesterday. I'm on Win 11 Pro using Chrome Version 108.0.5359.125. I got the McAfee renewal image as per previous screenshot.

I'm getting the pop up too. It seems to happen randomly and is a big red square that almost covers the page. I don't use Mcafee.

Might be a diverted website and I just use the back arrrow to continue on mn.

It only happens on this site.

I'm on my laptop using Chrome.

Happening to me also. Had to check but mine doesn't expire until November 2023.

It is now happening every couple of minutes which is making the site difficult to use.

I am getting the same this morning on the PC. Windows 11. Chrome. Only happening on MN (was worried I had a virus for a bit!) but every other site I am on it doesn't happen.

After two problem-free days I've had two pop-ups in the space of a minute today, including trying to post on this thread. Only on Mumsnet. And they completely took over, I wasn't able to navigate back to the page I was on either.

Just a thought, but following a recent update to MS Edge, the browser extension I was using to block pop-ups and unwanted adverts ceased to work (a bit like some Apple apps when the operating system gets upgraded), and so I started to get an increase in nonsense of this type. This doesn't explain why these pop-ups are targeting Mumsnet but may explain why people are seeing more of them.

Exactly tjis, around the same time, I was using Chrome.

We were getting all the Macfee guff as well then Kapersky got in on the act.

DH cleared cookies and browser.

Posting this from my phone, will check laptop in a minute and report back.
