Who'd like to try out a new Dyson vacuum cleaner?

We've been asked by Dyson to find 20 volunteers to test out a couple of brand new vacuum cleaners. To be eligible for the trial you need to do most of your own hoovering (so maybe it's time to give the cleaner a holiday ) and be able to collect your machine from Dyson's London or Wiltshire offices and stay for a brief demo.

If you like the machine you will be free to keep it. All we ask is that you agree to give feedback on an open section of Talk (that we'll set up in a couple of weeks time) and join in an online focus group (basically an online chat) with the Dyson engineers to tell them what you really think.

We're hoping to get all our volunteers in place by the end of the week, so if you're interested please sign up here

mine has died but im way up north - grrrrrrrrr

FAQ · 04/02/2008 13:35

lol RT - I don't "vacuum" up - I always hoover up.........vacuum just sounds "wrong" to me.

TBH as long as a machine sucks up all the cr*p of my carpet and gets the ground in biscuit crumbs and hardened cheese from the pile on my rug I'll call it what I like.

I've never owned a "Hoover" appliance in my life - and neither did my mum - but she always called it up.........I mean people don't say "I'm going to Dyson now, or Vax now"............do they??

RTKangaMummy · 04/02/2008 13:40

CaptainCod · 04/02/2008 13:42

RTKangaMummy · 04/02/2008 13:42

magnolia74 · 04/02/2008 13:43

ScoobyDoo · 04/02/2008 13:49

Have applied, as many know i am a bit obsessed with cleaing & hoovering is one of my addcition's

MIL has a dyson she swears by them, we have never had one so would love to see how good they really are...

wannaBe · 04/02/2008 13:49

I imagine that Dyson was the only positive thing to ever come out of the innovations catalogue

wannaBe · 04/02/2008 13:50

I have one and it is great, but it's getting old now so could do with a new one.

I have always wanted a Dyson even asked for one for my birthday

FAQ · 04/02/2008 14:03

WiiMii - if I can't manage a box with a Dyson in it on my own, then I won't have a cat in hells chance of traveling to Edinburgh with 3 young DS's and all the associated luggage on my own for a week

(also have the back-up of a cousin that lives on that side of london who would almost certainly help me out if needs be]

Fimbo · 04/02/2008 14:05

Perhaps I could carry it on a train too! Or crash at Cods??????

MamaG · 04/02/2008 14:29

have you REALLY asked for a dyson for your birthday?

CarrieMumsnet · 04/02/2008 16:20

s... into furniture and finally cleans under sofa.. (in a Murray Walker voice)

Sorry, momentarily frivolous moment as I visualise all that vacuuming

Just wanted to bump for the afternoon, can't- face-making-the-tea-for-the-kids-so-will-check-active-convos-crowd, (we know who you are )

Peachy · 04/02/2008 16:24

Goodness yes- wiltshire would be fine! our vacuum packed up anyway, somwould be handy.... and atm my biggest dread is the state of the house when I have my (hoped for) homebirth!

SoupDragon · 04/02/2008 20:40

I'd have to take it home via underground and overground (wombling free) train. I think I'll give it a miss!

TLSM · 05/02/2008 09:24

yes I asked for one for my 30th on Sunday but was told NO!!!!
