Mumsnet not working on safari on iPad?

I can open the site but can't click on any thread, on 'I'm watching' or, basically do anything.
Is it my problem or a site problem?

Still not working! Dreadful. I wouldn't mind if the app was ok but it has so many minor silly, annoying features, can't see trending, don't feel like what I see in active is the latest, can't click on a topic from a thread. Just doesn't work as smoothly as the version I usually use.

Still hopeless for me on the ipad. No other websites are doing this. I don't have space for the app (and don't like it) as my ipad is full with work stuff.

Agree with Chewbacca, shouldn't be up to us to attempt fixes. Given the issue is only with MN, it's an issue for MN to solve. Time for new techs?

I am having the same issue and have been for weeks now, I am also using an older ipad that won't update past ios 9.something.

I open a thread, wait for the adverts to load which takes ages and even then I will get half way down a page and half the screen will be blank and then it will freeze and then I have to shut down the tab because I cannot click on anything.

I downloaded the app but hated it and deleted it again. I am having to access mumsnet via my work desktop at the moment and even then pages are super slow at loading.

Still not working on the iPad for me either. Very very frustrating.

I'm slightly amused to see, upthread, that some MNers still think that 'Tech' is one person. Not any more and hasn't been that way for years; but I do wonder if the 'left hand' knows what the 'right hand' is doing in the Tech Dept?

I know there's more than one thread on this. And it's not solved yet, @MNHQ.

Just because 'Tech' can't replicate 'it' doesn't mean that there aren't problems across devices and browsers.

It's not useable, you're right. There must be a noticeable drop in traffic. I hardly bother now as I know I'll read half a page before it freezes. It's worse if you click a link from an email like the SwearsBy ones.

This is driving me potty too. It seems to happen at busy times so I am virtually unable to use mumsnet on my iPad most evenings yet for the last couple of evenings I've been awake at 1 / 2 and it's been ok. The constant slowing and freezing has put me off using mums net.

I still cannot access mumsnet via my ipad either going online or via the App - both dont work, just freeze, or cant scroll - is there any update on why this is happening?

We tracked down an issue with the ads that may have been causing some of the problems with Safari on iPad. We released a fix yesterday. Do let us know if you see any improvements, or if we need to keep trying.

Not sure if I should start another thread or if my issue is similar enough to stay on this thread.

Safari on Macbook Air has been doing exactly what the ipad users are describing, been like this for a few weeks now.
I thought the update to MacOs Mojave may resolve it but it didn't.

An ad for Virgin trains seems particularly to cause the problem

Using Chrome right now instead of Safari, but have visited MN much less often because of this situation.

Just to add further, I've been browsing using Safari and I'm certain it's the Virgin trains ad that loads on the right hand side of the page which is problematic for me. There's a banner one too at the top but the page loads and runs fine when it's there. As soon as the big one on the right tries to load the page just hangs.

Still exactly the same for me and it's so bloody frustrating.
When you say you've released a fix what exactly does this mean @MNHQ - is this something we need to download to use on our iPads to enable us to use the site?
