Weird behaviour with "back" button in browser - anyone else?

Over the last few days I've noticed if I'm browsing Active, I'm On or a talk topic and click onto a thread from there, when I press back to return to the list of threads afterwards, it often seems to skip that page and go straight to whatever thread I was reading before that, which is very odd. It doesn't happen every time, but enough for me to notice. I have thought maybe I've clicked back twice by mistake and gone forward again, but it's like the interim page is just deleted from my history as though I never visited it at all.

Is anyone else getting this? It's really strange and disorientating.

I'm on Chrome on Windows 10 on a desktop.

Hi There,

I understand that this is really frustrating. We are looking at it and trying to resolve the problem but not being able to reproduce the problem ourselves is making it very difficult.

We have implemented some changes but they do not seem to have helped.

We will continue to work on finding the problem and fixing this.

Active convos is no longer reloading when going back for me. Yay!!!

ThursdayNextIsMyHero · 20/04/2018 08:33

I'm still getting the problem with the back button (taking me to the last non-mn page instead of the last (mn) page loaded).

Obviouspretzel · 21/04/2018 08:17

Still doing it.

AristotlesTrousers · 21/04/2018 08:53

Still doing it here too.

So something a bit different happened this morning...I was on Amazon, clicked on the address bar and selected Mumsnet home page, then clicked Active Convos, then clicked on a thread.

When I clicked the back button I went straight back to the Amazon page I was on [weird] that's the first time it has skipped back so many pages.

I'm wondering if it's maybe a Google Chrome issue and that's why Mumsnet can't find/fix it? However it doesnt happen on any other website, only mumsnet

PiggeryPorcombe · 22/04/2018 16:55

The same happens to me @heymammy and I’m using Safari on an iPhone. So not a Chrome issue.

Haint · 22/04/2018 18:44

Wtaf is wrong with the fucking back button? Still!

EggysMom · 22/04/2018 18:46

Still happening for me. Chrome user.

Itlante · 22/04/2018 20:59

It's still a problem, but sometimes it's worse - like first thing this morning, and sometimes it's a bit better. This afternoon "back" was going back to a very old thread that I hadn't read for hours. It doesn't happen on any other website.

LondonInfoRequired · 26/04/2018 12:50

Still happening

IHaveACuntingPlan · 27/04/2018 10:04

I thought it had been sorted but it's just happened twice in a row. So annoying!

CaptainHammer · 30/04/2018 09:09

Still happening

Pinkywoo · 07/05/2018 18:26

It's been worse than ever the last couple of days, every other time I press back it goes two or three steps back.

PiggeryPorcombe · 10/05/2018 19:43

Still happening here and much worse over the last few days.

RiceButt · 12/05/2018 22:55
