Isn't that a lot of MN though (especially AIBU) is all fairness, my MIL/Sister/DH/builder etc etc.
They are started to look at others behavior.
It also wasn't started for that purpose, it was started as a space to discuss a situation which for right or wrong was not being allowed to be discussed on MN.

Having a group that's open to the public where posters ( and MNHQ ) are being slagged off isn't on and will only cause disharmony and mistrust. Especially if the Reddit users are coming back to MN to post.

I'm amazed that people can think there is nothing shitty or nasty on that forum, and can only think they haven't read all of the threads.

I'm just a bit eye rolly at the "is so and so a troll" bollocks but the arguing and bitching is really shitty. I posted some of the words that had been used there about MNHQ ("fucking wankers/bunch of twats/snobby bastards" etc) on the last thread. Plus people seeking out other poster's social media and slagging off their childrens' appearance?!

I don't particularly want to engage in people who are so fucking rude and basically act like a bunch of 14 year olds (sorry parents of 14 year olds - I'm one myself!). I wouldn't be inviting anyone into my workplace after they abused me like that on open forum. Expecting to be allowed to do that is pretty arrogant.

If people think MNHQ is so shit and posters are so shit (and they do judging by their lovely descriptions) why the fuck do they want to come back? Just stay in Reddit bitching like a group of schoolchildren and slag peoples' children off over there. No moderation hurrah - you can act like a spiteful mean cunt and tell each other how wonderful you all are!

Please remember that the Reddit Troll group started because MNHQ kept deleting threads after the David and Caroline fiasco. It was started as an uncensored place to talk about that debacle.

It then ballooned into a discussion about trolls on MN, and has become for many people a troll checker. It's striking that many threads identified as troll treads are soon deleted here.

Now that Justine has confirmed that they read it, it is clearly serving a purpose, even for MNHQ.

I have been lurking on there tonight, I really don't think it's bad at all there, interestingly someone has just posted this on there.

Have to admit I only went on MN a little bit when my wife left me with my son, but was pretty much too damn scared to post on there after seeing a kicking some people got

I can't see what's so scandalous about the Reddit page. A few off colour remarks about a poster's kids, which most people disagreed with it has to be said, but a lot of things I find myself nodding along with too.

Shouldn't that same rule apply to MN @pandora.

I'm actually disappointed that someone was banned here for being on Reddit, like keep saying it's ok for MN to take piss out of others but it's all huffy puff tandrum when it's done to MN.

I also think they are proving MNHQ's point about troll hunting. IIRC (although I believe it was deleted) there was a thread asking if CTK was a troll. Quite a few people have had threads made about them/been discussed on threads. People have been named. Children mocked.

God knows I think MN has a massive troll problem which needs addressing more robustly, but those threads aren't the way to do it. They are just a device for people to be snarky in a faux wide eyed "we are only saying what everyone is thinking...you know, for the greater good".

Rude, spiteful and childish, and showing peoples' worst sides, not their best. Some posters on there should be fucking ashamed of themselves.
