SLOW! It's so fucking slow now, I can't even get long threads to load any more

Let alone post on them.

It's beyond a joke now, vast swathes of MN are now totally inaccessible to me. Can we PLEASE sort this out?

Still not working for me either. I'm getting the same issue a lot of other posters have mentioned- blank screens when you click on a thread and the whole thing freezing and unresponsive so I can't scroll up or down. It's been doing this all week- thought it was my phone at first until I realised all other sites were fine apart from mumsnet. It's rendering the mobile site pretty much unusable and has been that way for a week or so now.

Deux · 04/03/2017 09:38

It's definitely the ads as my iPad is fine with ad blocker.

I didn't put it on my phone to see what happened and still the same problems on iPhone. So now have ad blocker on it too and it's fine now.

Bazookapie · 04/03/2017 09:43

Been struggling too for ages, installed ad blocker yesterday and fine since.

ImBrian · 04/03/2017 09:44

Mines terrible on my iPhone as well.

Hooleywhipper · 04/03/2017 09:45

Ad blocker now installed on iPad and all fine.

MontyPythonsFlyingFuck · 04/03/2017 09:52

Ironically, this is the first thread that's loaded with no problems for me in about a week. Otherwise, same issues as everyone else is reporting. Makes the site unusable. And for the techies to be saying oh reduce your post count - well, yes, but there's clearly a problem beyond that, and as your interface is so bloody antiquated that half the posts on a big fast moving thread are just placemarking, that's not a sustainable or sensible response.

dowhatnow · 04/03/2017 11:25

Another one deliberately searching out site stuff to see if anyone else is suffering like I have recently.
It keeps sticking on both my i pad and Mac. Can't load threads and is terribly slow when they do.
I've also had to log in several times when I've been thrown out.

PuppyMonkey · 04/03/2017 11:48

Have totally given up on iPhone - trying to install an Ad Blocker but I have to get the latest update now - what could possibly go wrong? * cries.

Still works fine on Chrome on my MacBook, which has an Ad Blocker installed.

noblegiraffe · 04/03/2017 11:58

It was being much better on my iPhone this morning, then I went to page 3 of a thread I was reading, and it froze again. Normally the ad doesn't load or can't be seen but this time it was a Giffgaff £18 per month ad. Went to take a screenshot and the screen went white and I had to close the window.

noblegiraffe · 04/03/2017 12:07

Except I've just now seen the same giffgaff ad and it loaded fine Confused

Lots of blank adverts at the moment.

noblegiraffe · 04/03/2017 12:48

After crashing on my iphone, it now just crashed on my ipad. It's much better than it was last night though when it was crashing every other time I clicked a link.

PuppyMonkey · 04/03/2017 12:54

I think it's worked Shock

noblegiraffe · 04/03/2017 13:02

Funnily enough this thread just crashed after you posted that, puppy!

PuppyMonkey · 04/03/2017 13:12

I have suspected it's me who's broken everything all along giraffe Grin

SealSong · 04/03/2017 15:09

Still unusable on my ipad (desktop, safari)

Getting VERY tedious now.

Also very slow loading on my laptop (desktop, chrome) but it is eventually loading.

MissDemelzaCarne · 04/03/2017 16:41

STILL unusable on my iPad (Safari). Angry

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 04/03/2017 17:22

Have given up MNetting on my iPad now. However, I do have adblocker on my laptop, installed by work. So is it worth installing it on the iPad?

fluffiphlox · 04/03/2017 17:48

STILL problematic on iPhone.

Deux · 04/03/2017 18:51

TheOnly - my issues were resolved completely by installing AdBlock Plus on my iPad. It's a free app. It's also worked on my iPhone.

So I'd say definitely worth installing.

KillDora · 04/03/2017 19:00

Thank you!

Installed the first ad blocker that came up in the App Store for my iPhone and finally I can read mn again!

Previously was getting blank screens and mn locking up halfway through a thread.

(P.s if we all block the ads to be able to use the website what's the point in them being there? No one will see them?)

CharlieSierra · 04/03/2017 20:25

Which ad blocker are people loading on iPad? Mine is a few years old and all the ones I've tried are incompatible. Having said that I did just install iOS 10.2.1 and I'm accessing the site on my iPad for the first time for a week, so fingers crossed it's fixed.

Mummylin · 04/03/2017 20:28

I have just put adblock plus on literally 5 mins ago. That is what a previous poster recommended

Dreamanddream · 04/03/2017 20:31

Does anyone find it messes up the whole of Safari?

I can be on other sites fine. Come on here and it doesn't work most of the time and then all my other site are slow and messed up.

I refuse to download something to make this site work, I shouldn't have to. (I don't use any of the ads on here anyway, I don't even look at them anymore, so they won't be getting any money out of me.

CharlieSierra · 04/03/2017 20:36

I spoke too soon. It's still sticking and loading half a thread. Angry

Totally agree it should not be necessary to download anything to make the site work.

ProlificLurker · 04/03/2017 21:02

iPad, Safari. Loading half a page, sometimes even just half an op, and then freezing. Even when the page loads I'm unable to click on anything.
