It's beyond a joke now, vast swathes of MN are now totally inaccessible to me. Can we PLEASE sort this out?

helpimitchy, thanks I installed Adblock plus and followed all the instructions but to no avail.

Given how sad this has made me feel and the fact that I'm sat here on my work lap top on a Friday night maybe it's time i took break from MN?

It seems to be working OK for me at the moment.

Adblock installed on iPad Mini and iPhone and yay, it's working again properly. Phew!

I won't miss seeing them, it has to be said.

I'm a bit scared to say this in case it jinxes it, but it's working perfectly now on iPad and safari for me - and I haven't installed any Adblock or anything. Phew! And thank you techies.

Site became totally unusable for me this evening, working perfectly so far with adbocker app installed.

I have installed Adblock and it seems to be working. I have deliberately chosen not to install Adblock before this as I respect sites need to generate revenue through advertising but I had no choice. Bit of an own goal here mumsnet!

weirdly it's now slow, but fine on safari/ipad but gets stuck on phone/safari

Tried on OH's iPad ( no ad blocker installed) via Safari and appeared to be back to normal initially, but problem reoccurred within five minutes.

Now back to using my device with ad blocker and it's fine.......

It seems better for me just at this moment, hence I'm here and posting. But I couldn't get on earlier and I think that was since the MN message.
(I'm going to try out the rest of talk now, I've really missed Mumsmet recently)

I just installed ad blocker on iPad. Now works perfectly.

I'm all for supporting the site via ads, but when it's no longer useable without a blocker MN is losing traffic either way.

This Adblocker thingy is great! MN back to normal, and no problems with other sites I visit.

loop go to the App Store. Install Adblock Plus. (Free) Follow the instructions to turn it on in Settings. You need to swipe to the second screen to see the instructional video.

Wouldn't work for me yesterday at 5ish, or around 8pm. Working fine now at 4:30am. But I really would like to be able to use the site whenever.

I downloaded the NeverAds app and followed its instructions and now the site works!

sometimes it's just slow, sometimes it freezes. and when it freezes it makes safari unusable.

I don't mind adds too much, but this is really annoying.

I just checked on DH's iPad (no ad blocker)

All problems still there.

I think the worst thing was that when it was stuck on MN I couldn't actually do anything else on Safari as it completely froze it, I had to clear all my website date which because its connected with iCloud cleared it on all my devices and MacBook, not very useful if you want to visit previous pages of other sites.

The Adblock won't be switched off until I know its fixed properly.

I think it's a shame that mumsnet seem to have identified that it's an ad/ads that is causing this but haven't shut down all the ads while they investigate.
