It's beyond a joke now, vast swathes of MN are now totally inaccessible to me. Can we PLEASE sort this out?

Yes, I did wonder what the side effect of Adblocker would be, I have got an older mini iPad I don't use so much so I may end up MNing on that with the ad blocker installed and take it off my new iPad and phone.

Also my 7 year old MacBook was huffing and puffing (the fan going) and I had the beachball of doom when it was trying to load MN last night so I put the ad blocker on that also

Hopefully MN will resolve this problem so we don't need to do this.

I'm using Adblock plus, its the red one with ABP in it and Youtube seems OK, well better as I don't have to skip the ad now, this is on safari.

I have had to resort to an ad blocker too.
I couldn't even get on to this page to air my frustration!

Mine seems to be fine this morning, no problems at all.

I've just installed ABP to see if that solves any lingering issues (but it was fine before that today)

I thought the same soup but third thread I went on this happened. Then I couldn't get onto TIO (again) as clicking on it didn't work so had to come out and back in again. Never thought of an ad blocker before but will try it. Any recommendations? I have been here years and never as blocked.

I keep getting pop ups telling me that iPad storage is almost full (it shouldn't be, btw, given what else is in here) and this has been happening only I. The last few days.

And battery is really draining quickly (might not have paid attention to that had someone not mentioned it up thread)

I will (try to) keep an eye on this thread for news on what on earth is going in.

But if there is continuing silence from MNHQ, ad blocker it is.

Will also go the adblocker route if this doesn't get sorted out soon.

I have given up looking at MN on my phone after 9pm as it just doesn't load. I assume it's bigger volumes of users in the evenings.

Ad blocker now installed and everything is wizzy again. Really shouldn't have to take these steps though

Yes I've installed an adblocker as for the last hour or so, it's been freezing/not loading. Now it's running much faster! Will monitor it over the course of the day but this seems to have fixed it.

Just installed ad blocker - and am posting from website not the app, so seems to be working!

Have changed my AdBlocker to the ABP one, and YouTube is fine now - thanks for the recommmendation!

I've put ABP on my phone.

I'll hold out a bit longer to see if it's fixed during the course of the day, if not it's going on the iPad this evening.

And can I make a plea for more communication from MNHQ about what is going on. The last message was a day ago, and could be taken as 'we're not going to give you updates' and that's not great. We're grown ups. We know that there might be not much actual progress to report. But silence isn't an answer.

This has been going on for more than two years! I've just advance searched myself and find I have been on threads about this problem going back to 2014.

It is worse some times than others but has never been satisfactorily dealt with and, at times, makes the site unusable. MNHQ always seem surprised when yet another thread is started about this.

In desperation, I installed Adblock Plus a couple of months ago and it is much, much better, although it can still 'hang' a bit at times.

Someone up thread wasn't sure about how to install Adblock - just go to the AppStore, search for 'Adblock Plus for iPad' (or iPhone) and click to install. Then turn it on in 'settings' It's easy and free

Google tells me there's also an Adblock Plus for Chrome.

I resisted for aages because I recognise that MNHQ needs the advertising revenue but, frankly, it was that or give up MN completely.

ABP apparently 'not compatible with this iPad' so that's a non-starter (mini iPad).
Getting thoroughly sick of this now, no response from MNHQ about what's going on, still freezing/not responding after 3 days.
Give up.
