Update to webchat guest colours

Hi,
This is a heads up that we're soon to introduce a change to the colours used to highlight posts on desktop and mobile.

If you've been around long enough to have the old style customised colours this won't affect you.

For newer users - we needed to add some new web chat guest colours and retire the awful mustard yellow we used in the past on desktop webchats. As a result of that we then needed to update our other colours too.

Thanks all

I want to be purple again. We outnumber the webchats by a zillion to one
Don't upset us we don't like it! Change the webchats to red or something but leave us the same colour techie fella.
I'm using chrome on android tablet and I'm not happy Sad
We are not insipid colours we are your bread and butter.

MrsHathaway · 11/10/2016 19:12

Why did Webchat colours need changing anyway? I know it's not the loveliest colour but it was easily identified.

Surely there are a million things on Tech's to-do list ahead of this? Confused

Rowgtfc72 · 11/10/2016 19:14

Customised my colours ages ago on the desktop site and had the same colours on the mobile site. Green, purple and blue.
Struggling to tell the difference between posters now.
What colour am I going to be when this posts?!

MooseAndSquirrel · 11/10/2016 19:16

I had custom colours on my mobile (windows phone)
Op was purpley - mn was far blue and I was a dark pink colour.
these pastel colours are shit, they don't stand out so I cant scroll to the updates and as my dyslexia is effected by the colours I find it really hard to focus with the pale - solid deep colours are much easier for my brain!!! Please revert mnhq!!
(multiple !! As im that annoyed by it!!!)

Undersmile · 11/10/2016 19:16

Hmm, it's okay on my desktop site, just mobile is affected.

MooseAndSquirrel · 11/10/2016 19:17

Look im so startled you've made me made a bunch of typoes!!

Lweji · 11/10/2016 19:20

I should probably have RTWFT, but I'm fairly older, with customised colours and Angry

PrettyBlueDressForTheXmasBall · 11/10/2016 19:28

The new colours are vile and washed out. They are also harder to pick out on a thread.

That applies to both the cream/dilute piss colour my posts were changed to earlier and the yucky greeny blue they have become now. Also op posts being a washed out slightly purplish grey is awful and hard to pick out too.

I want my purple posts back. Plus op in blue and MN HQ in dark blue.

I'm not happy Angry

PrettyBlueDressForTheXmasBall · 11/10/2016 19:34

And scrolling through I'm glad its not just me who finds its hurting their eyes looking at pale background colour posts

PrettyBlueDressForTheXmasBall · 11/10/2016 19:35

^this with bells on!

Furtyferret · 11/10/2016 19:38

Another vote for the old colours back please, green & purple here - the new ones are awful, they are far to pale to be able to pick out ops posts etc

Lorelei76 · 11/10/2016 19:47

Same problem here
I also had purple and green, they've changed to apple white and daffodil white?! Cant see them well enough to scroll through for op posts.

OublietteBravo · 11/10/2016 19:47

I hate the really pale colours. I think I still have broadly the same customised colours, only they are so faint that it is almost impossible to tell. I can barely pick out my own posts on a thread. Bring back the darker colours please!

OublietteBravo · 11/10/2016 19:48

Scrap that - my posts are now really pale green (they used to be purple).

OublietteBravo · 11/10/2016 19:51

...and OP posts have gone from blue to barely discernible pink (with a hint of white grey).

I too had the old colours and have now been turned pale. Also would like to say I HATE THEM!! Bring back the old ways, please! It's so hard to tell the difference between posts, was simple and clear before

teawamutu · 11/10/2016 20:04

Mn, I don't want to whine about change for the sake of it, but those colours are really hard to make out, especially if scrolling at speed. Your screenshot wasn't much better, please could you make them stronger?
