Update to webchat guest colours

Hi,
This is a heads up that we're soon to introduce a change to the colours used to highlight posts on desktop and mobile.

If you've been around long enough to have the old style customised colours this won't affect you.

For newer users - we needed to add some new web chat guest colours and retire the awful mustard yellow we used in the past on desktop webchats. As a result of that we then needed to update our other colours too.

Thanks all

I don't think anyone is moaning about the fact the colours have changed just that they are far too light and need to be darker. Any colour is fine just not pastel

Any reason why the colours are so pale?

Ausernotanumber · 11/10/2016 17:29

See attached re contrast. There isn't one.

Found this thread as I was about to start one in site stuff saying I couldn't see any posts highlighted. I am guessing I must use the mobile site? but all I know is I can't distinguish OP or my posts.
This isn't working for me I'm afraid, sorry.

exLtEveDallas · 11/10/2016 17:40

See I'm doubly fucked off now. I used my twatphone to MN and some months ago the desktop site that I always used became unusable because MN stopped having dynamic type - i.e. It was too small to read and didn't change to fit the size of the screen. I reported it and nothing ever changed.

So I had to use the mobile site which I have always hated.

Just as I am getting used to it (after months of hatred) the colours have changed and now I hate it again.

On desktop I was OP purple, MNHQ blue and me pink - all could be seen easily. On mobile this translated to OP grey, MNHQ blue and me pink, again easy to see. Now it's OP baby pale pink, MNHQ green and me a weird lemony yellow. The only one I can see with ease is MNHQ.

Now I'm seriously paranoid - maybe MN want rid of me after all Sad. Why else would they make it bloody harder to use the site?

Soubriquet · 11/10/2016 17:44

It's changed!!

I'm no longer yellow but a pale purple/pink.

Stil not as good as what it was but its better. Easier to see

Soubriquet · 11/10/2016 17:44

Not purple sorry, grey.

Didijustgetwinkpointshitcanned · 11/10/2016 17:45

Testing!

Didijustgetwinkpointshitcanned · 11/10/2016 17:46

I'm pale green to me. The pale still hurts :(

Here is a screen shot of the mobile site from February this year. I am not the op. (And I have no idea why took a screen shot)

MNHQ now seem to be in blue and I'm light green which is a bit better but it's still very pale. I'd prefer a stronger colour I can spot more easily please

DesolateWaist · 11/10/2016 17:50

Sorry, wrong screen shot. That was my post under a name change.

Didijustgetwinkpointshitcanned · 11/10/2016 17:51

It's not just the spotting our posts either MNHQ. It's actually being able to read the posts without eye strain because of how close they are to white.

DesolateWaist · 11/10/2016 17:56

This is a picture showing the op colours.
This is from October 2015

See how easy they are to spot Jessica?

Much better

MrsHathaway · 11/10/2016 18:01

Now MNHQ is too pale blue and I am too pale green.

Change that didn't need making and hasn't resolved the issue. Guess what the remaining issue is?

Too pale. Who'd have guessed?!

Cocolepew · 11/10/2016 18:03

I always, use the mobile site, I was pink and the op was the greyish colour.
Now the op is pink and I'm pale green Confused

AverageGayLadAtChristmas · 11/10/2016 18:07

On desktop I was OP purple, MNHQ blue and me pink - all could be seen easily

I liked this the way it was :(

On Chrome on Desktop I genuinely see no difference between any of the posts that have been written in colour.

PoldarksBreeches · 11/10/2016 18:09

Dreadful change! Please make the shades darker! I don't care what colours you use but they need to be visible!

UterusUterusGhali · 11/10/2016 18:09

I really can't see the OP here.

I thought at first they had a name change fail.

Mobile site.

It's more obvious on the thumbnail tbf.

gleam · 11/10/2016 18:13

I had the old customised colours and they've changed for me as well, to dismally insipid colours.
