Update to webchat guest colours

Hi,
This is a heads up that we're soon to introduce a change to the colours used to highlight posts on desktop and mobile.

If you've been around long enough to have the old style customised colours this won't affect you.

For newer users - we needed to add some new web chat guest colours and retire the awful mustard yellow we used in the past on desktop webchats. As a result of that we then needed to update our other colours too.

Thanks all

Any news on this please ?

Taylia · 19/10/2016 06:33

I've reported my comment to bring MNHQ's attention to this thread.

ElBandito · 19/10/2016 10:18

My eyes are hurting. Please get a wiggle on!

AmyGMumsnet · 19/10/2016 10:58

Good morning!

Thanks very much for all your feedback. Tech are working on changing to the stronger colours at the moment and we will post again as soon as the change is released.

Thanks all! Flowers

FeelingSmurfy · 19/10/2016 14:01

Thanks Amy

OlympicBonfire · 19/10/2016 18:18

Thank you Amy, but are we talking days, weeks or months here ? It would be good to have some sort of guide to timescales

Atticmatic · 20/10/2016 11:51

Thank goodness I found this thread and can be safe in the knowledge the pale colours are going.

hurry up then

Superdinocharge · 23/10/2016 10:52

Mumsnet the pale colours are sooooo irritating! I really don't understand why this is taking so long to make the colours stronger. Are you hoping we'll get used to it? Because I'm using mumsnet less now because of it.

Superdinocharge · 23/10/2016 10:53

The pink OP is the worst of them all! Blue mumsnet is better but the pink against white is so hard to see I'm missing posts because of it.

PoldarksBreeches · 23/10/2016 10:55

How long does it take to change some colours?!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 23/10/2016 12:34

How long does it take to change some colours?!

On most sites about 30 secs.

To be fair it becomes a wee bit harder if the site is held together with old string and chewing gum.

Taylia · 23/10/2016 15:04

They changed them to the pale colours quick enough.

Are you hoping we forget and stop asking?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 23/10/2016 16:24

They changed them to the pale colours quick enough.

How do you know they didn't start working on the colour changes in 2002 Wink

Mummylin · 24/10/2016 08:54

Any updates on this problem MNHQ ?

SpookyPotato · 24/10/2016 10:30

Mine have gone a lovely dark colour on my ipad, green for OP and purple for me but still light for MNHQ. All still light on iphone..

Grin

It feels like that, doesn't it?

RatOnnaStick · 25/10/2016 09:20

Whoa! Now the desktop OP colour is vile sicky pink? I thought we were going stronger (and not puke pink?)

musicposy · 25/10/2016 09:23

This seems to be new in the last 10 minutes.
I can't read it AT ALL. I'm a migraine sufferer and it gives me an instant headache just looking at it.

I'm all for something that stands out more, but fluorescent? Really?

Update to webchat guest colours
FruVikingessOla · 25/10/2016 09:25

I've just got that too, Rat. The OP was Forest Green earlier this morning, but now it's a sort of peachy colour for me (I guess the same as your 'sicky pink'!)

musicposy · 25/10/2016 09:25

The photo above does not do justice to high bright it is. It's a really neon bright bright green. I can't read anything on it, it does my eyes in.

ElBandito · 25/10/2016 09:27

That's a shame musicposy I've just come here to say how much better it is this morning. My problem was staining to spot the colour changes.

ElBandito · 25/10/2016 09:29

My pink on the iPad is more dusky

I think it must make a difference what you're viewing it on. I'm on safari on iPad and someone definitely needs to look at how it looks on that!

BestIsWest · 25/10/2016 09:35

Mine has suddenly changed to a horrible pale pink crepe bandage colour for the OP (safari on iPad, desktop site). It's vile. To make it worse the customise button seems to have disappeared. Please can it go back to green.

SnaggleBeast · 25/10/2016 09:38

Oh, mine has changed back to dark! It's great, I hope it stays this way.

I'm using Internet on a Samsung mobile using the mobile site.
