App randomly shutting down.

It's been going on for a few weeks now, at first I thought it was because my phone (iPhone 5s) needed an update but I have since updated and it's still happening. Very annoying when I'm reading a thread and then it literally vanishes into thin air. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough for it to be an annoyance. The app opens up fine afterwards.

Just thought I'd let you guys know just in case there's an issue with the app.

Can we have an update MNHQ? It's incredibly annoying, it's happened to me at least 5 times today.

TimMumsnet · 28/10/2016 15:04

Hey guys, apologies this is still happening Blush

In the last update we released for the app fixed the majority of crashes for most users, but we're still seeing around a hundred crashes per day (see the diagram). The majority of these crashes are caused by adverts, so take a little longer to find where the problem is coming from.

If all goes well, we'll be releasing a new build in the next week which should improve the performance of the app.

As always, thanks so much for all your feedback, it's really valuable!

Thanks, Tim.

It's started again after ages of not.

Not crashing quite as dramatically as before but just dies, goes black and I have to go back to main menu. Twice today.

cozietoesie · 11/11/2016 16:47

It happens occasionally but not quite as often as before, I think? The general slow response is now almost non-existent though - for me at any rate. (I had a 'No connection etc' message the other day and thought 'Here we go again......' and Lo and Behold - my Internet was actually down! Grin)

I would tentatively say it's been much better in the last few days.

DeleteOrDecay · 16/11/2016 22:14

Things have definitely been better lately, I can't recall a time where it has shut down on me lately.

TimMumsnet · 29/11/2016 17:32

This is good to hear! We've had a dramatic reduction in crashes - we have reports confirming there are approx 10x less crashes since that release, and we'll do our best to keep that rate low.

Thanks for all your patience Flowers
