I can't find any explanation of why mn was down. With the odd redirect and the history of the site over the summer, it would be rather good to have an explanation please.

@BathshebaDarkstone

No reply to me HQ? Why are my posts sometimes invisible as I type them?

Hi Bathsheba,

Sorry, we're not ignoring you (you're not invisible and we CAN see your posts, at least Smile). Have just scrolled back up the thread to see if you've posted to say which device you're using, but it doesn't look like you've said. Could you let us know please? We'll flag this to our Tech team once we know a bit more.

Many thanks.

Sorry meant to get back yesterday - much better yesterday.
But I am having some connection/router problems which I have spoken to my provider about. I did get an unexpected web page turn up in my browser about that - also have google trying to get me to review my privacy settings and my antivirus telling me it out of date ...not feeling very comfortable at the moment but may well be nothing to do with mumsnet.
However I have just clicked on the mumsnet icon in a new browser window (Firefox) rather than use the bookmark and I got a 'noscript error'...which is a bit odd (mentions chrome and I don't use chrome on any device!) That icon could have been from a few days ago.

I am going to email it to tech with the description to be on the safe side...

DawnMumsnet · 25/09/2015 14:23

@Scobberlotcher

Can I butt in to say I don't have my posts highlighted nor do I have the OPs posts on a thread highlighted and I don't have the facility in my customise section to set that.

I am using a pc, with, windows 10

Thanks for letting us know, Scobberlotcher.

usual, don't suppose you've recently made the change to Windows 10 have you?

Glad to hear things are a bit better for you, unlucky83. Hopefully our Tech team will be able to get to the bottom of the noscript error message.

@usual

Nope, I haven't changed anything.

Mine and the OPs posts were highlighted until the site went down the other night.

Rats. Thought I was on to something. Sad

Please hang in there, usual, we're trying to get to the bottom of this.

Cleared my cache and all is well -- many thanks.

Blodss · 26/09/2015 11:05

DawnMumsnet despite me thinking I had cleared cookies and cache, I asked my DH to help me and he sorted it out. Im not very techy but getting better. Thanks for the help. Flowers

DawnMumsnet · 26/09/2015 12:18

mathanxiety and Blodss, we're very pleased (and relieved) to hear things are working for you.

If we have to sort things out for you one by one, we'll get there. That includes you, too, usual. Wink

Dutchoma · 26/09/2015 12:36

And me? I thought things had improved and they have on the main computer (not being able to get into 'Threads I'm watching' but getting the error message) but not on the iPad. I managed to get a screen shot and send it, but I have not had an acknowledgment. In fairness I sent it late last night. I couldn't answer all the questions asked, so hope that does not impede investigation

Yes, with a bit of luck, you too Dutchoma Smile

We've just checked and can see you've had a response to your mail. Do get back in touch if you need further help with this.

Dutchoma · 26/09/2015 13:53

Thanks DawnMN. In all there have been 8 messages between me and MNHQ, four on the 23rd, then again yesterday when I wrote at 6.33 and got an answer at 11.55 when they asked for screenshot and info). I then replied at 16.19 (Yeah it worked) and again at 22.00 (Oh no, it didn't) and I sent in the screenshot and as many answers as I could. I don't think there has been a reply to that one and the thing is still not fixed on the iPad.
Can I ask you to have another look to see if I've missed anything, please?

unlucky83 · 28/09/2015 19:07

I have finally had a reply from tech ...telling me not to use firefox -use chrome or IE instead...hmmm thanks but no thanks....

sadwidow28 · 28/09/2015 19:20

I now stay on Firefox also unlucky.

I use IE or Chrome when I have run out of reading my free 20 Telegraph articles Grin

Thank you MNHQ for your answer to my question about previous user names. I am still not convinced that the thread is genuine even if you say that the poster is, so have re-reported with detail.

Hi all - Tech are still looking into things at the moment and we'll update when we know more.

If you haven't yet, please do clear your cache because that is working for a lot of other Mumsnetters.
