I am up in East Yorks so just can't make it unfortunately.

How about CATting Tahir and myfreeforum, see if they can get the word out on their boards?

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 09/08/2006 18:30

ive been in contact with Tahir via email, he was going to put the word out, but we need MNers backing too - 6 people is a shockingly poor response.

Those at work - PHONE IN SICK! Its 1 day!!!! IT WONT HURT!!!

WorldFamousAuthorMolotov · 09/08/2006 18:31

yeah have a sicky or 'go to the dentist' the fact your fizzog will be on national telly is neither here nor there

surely you can sort something out - even if its just for the morning?

JARM - you're doing a sterling job!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 09/08/2006 18:33

who gives a stuff about being seen on telly?! We are talknig human rights....... ill bet 90% of employers would do the same if they would get away with it

OP posts:
jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 09/08/2006 18:33

and thanks for the praise - my head is pounding, DH is having to do EVERYTHING tonight because I am sat here TRYING to get this thing off the ground

ZippiZapata · 09/08/2006 18:34

I expect the early time and the lack of time to get organised is the sticking point (apart from preserving anonymity and the cost)

JoshuaandChloesmummy · 09/08/2006 18:35

Have you told people about this in other parts of mumsnet, just incase that they haven't come into this bit?

Scoobydooooo · 09/08/2006 18:35

Does it have to be a week day ?

MercyTung · 09/08/2006 18:40

I'm really sorry but I can't make tomorrow

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 09/08/2006 18:41

short of spamming every active convo - which will piss a lot of people off - theres not much i can do

i am relying on people reading the site stuff threads

OP posts:
wannaBe1974 · 09/08/2006 18:42

imo it is the short notice that is the sticking point with so many. The early timing wouldn't be such an issue if people had time to prepare for it.

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 09/08/2006 18:43

Havent read the whole thread, but is it worth putting this up on bounty and BMC?

I am in Birmingham so cant make it on such short notice. Good luck to you all though.

spidermama · 09/08/2006 18:46

I hear what you're saying wanna but as a news journo myself I have to agree with edam that it's a good idea to make the most of this initial flush of publicity because people won't want to cover it if it's deemd old. It's also still the silly season so home news is a bit weak at the moment which means there's a better chance of getting decent coverage.

JoshuaandChloesmummy · 09/08/2006 18:47

Its on Bounty, and there is lots of support, but people cant make it due to distance from their house/time/money.

ZippiZapata · 09/08/2006 18:48

Maybe you should all take laptops and synchronise with online support

WorldFamousAuthorMolotov · 09/08/2006 18:49

can't you pressgang passers by to join the fun?

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 09/08/2006 18:49

Why am i bothering?

OP posts:
fluttergandhibee · 09/08/2006 18:50

Sorry guys I posted on the other thread, I can't make it I have looked into it and I would have to catch the commuter train up from Hastings at about 7am and with the 9mth old in tow it would just be impossible.

misdee · 09/08/2006 18:51
