Oh I wish I could come!!
can't even do the photo bit (brilliant idea!) as no digital camera in the house...
grrrr

AvaLou · 09/08/2006 17:38

I can yoink DH's snappy digital slr camera for the occasion, to record it for musnet in general!

merrily · 09/08/2006 17:39

god i would love to come to this! I used to work at RH. Unfortunately can't make it.

Pimlico is the nearest tube - it's about 3 minutes walk from RH offices. If you're coming from Victoria station, allow 15 minutes to walk down Vauxhall Bridge Road.

merrily · 09/08/2006 17:41

Forgot to add Vauxhall station is about 5-10 minutes walk, just cross over the bridge.

Quootiepie · 09/08/2006 17:44

id love to come but im abit scared as ive never travelled on tube alone...

cye · 09/08/2006 17:52

where you comong from quootiepie? if you need help on tube we'll be coming from finsbury park... any good?

Orlando · 09/08/2006 17:52

Think the washing line is a great idea and strikes absolutely the right note...

But needs organising. If we're doing it, should everyone email an A4 page, saying what mumsnet has done for them (be that one sentence or many) to some very heroic person/people who can print them out and attach to line?

(BTW, live too far away to come to demo, but do want to be represented somehow)

Quootiepie · 09/08/2006 17:53

bracknell - clapham - vauxhall

cye · 09/08/2006 17:59

opposite direction! sorry...

merrily · 09/08/2006 18:01

Quootiepie - do you mean you're getting the train from Bracknell to Vauxhall? (sorry don't know trains in that neck of the woods) You can walk to Random House from Vauxhall Station so there's no need to get on the Tube?

proudofmyboobs · 09/08/2006 18:01

OOh cloth nappies swinging from the clothes line would be bloody fantastic! Maternity Bras too!!

With lots of coloured clothes pegs!

My only concern with pages attached to a clothes line is that if it rains they get wet..oooh unless they are in those clear wallets that you get for ring binders??

Quootiepie · 09/08/2006 18:03

Bracknell, to Clapham junction on train then on to Vauxhall... train or tube, im not sure.

Quootiepie · 09/08/2006 18:04

is pimlico nearer?

Carmenere · 09/08/2006 18:05

I'm sick in bed and speaking to you via the laptop Don't think I'll be able to come

Northerner · 09/08/2006 18:07

Blimey a demo?!!! Been at work today so not uptodate with what is going on.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 09/08/2006 18:07

Im coming from Liverpool Street - am i right in thinknig get to kings cross and then to pimlico?

Not travelled on a tube other than liverpool st - waterloo!!

OP posts:
merrily · 09/08/2006 18:08

Pimlico is nearer yes, but it would be quicker to walk from Vauxhall than get on the tube for just one stop. Just walk over Vauxhall Bridge, carry on up Vauxhall Bridge Road for a short way and Random House is on the right-hand side.

merrily · 09/08/2006 18:09

I'm pretty sure there are loads of trains from Clapham Junction to Vauxhall, so no need to get on the tube at all!

Quootiepie · 09/08/2006 18:10

oh, or I can go Bracknell - Waterloo -Vauxhall

Quootiepie · 09/08/2006 18:11

well, its not the tube really... its travelling alone in London tube or no tube lol

merrily · 09/08/2006 18:12

JARM - the easiest way from Liverpool St is to get the Central Line to Oxford Circus then change on to the Victoria Line to Pimlico.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 09/08/2006 18:13

ok so oxford circus to pimlico - THANKS - thought there might be an easier route.

central line and victoria line - GOTCHA

merrily · 09/08/2006 18:14

Quootiepie - I see what you mean! I've lived in London all my life so I guess it just comes second nature to me!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 09/08/2006 18:15

WE have one problem - 6 confirmed MNers - THAT IS NOT GONNA HAPPEN

WE NEED A LOT MORE
