edam · 09/08/2006 12:12

Please can everyone have a look at the thread "Mumsnet demo tomorrow"?

CountessDracula · 09/08/2006 12:18

bbc article do you think Clare Formica is a real name?!

LadyTophamHatt · 09/08/2006 12:20

LOL I thought that too CD....

GeorginaA · 09/08/2006 13:18

just come home after a morning out - glad you liked my blog Morningpaper, I'd be honoured to be your PR person

fistfullofbanners · 09/08/2006 13:38

I hereby swear never to malign the Daily Mail again. It is clearly a wonderful newspaper, with an excellent grasp upon reality.

It doesn't seem to mind what people say about it either, which is a virtue that is easily underrated.

SherlockLGJ · 09/08/2006 13:50

Just submitted this to the BBC Magazine website.

Wonder if they will publish it.

Love or loathe .

Personally I am ambivalent.

However I find it very strange that someone is prepared to put their thoughts and methods on paper and then seek to have that book published, but by the same token is not prepared to allow people the freedom to discuss her proposed methods.

you put your head above the parapet, have the courage to leave it there, this is a democracy and as far as I am aware we are still allowed FREEDOM OF SPEECH in the free world.

WWWLutherKing · 09/08/2006 13:51

Love the Blaise person and the law sites, very funny!

Iklboo · 09/08/2006 13:53

And...remember...opinions & ideas can and should be challenged openly and freely.
Person should be thankful they're not a celebrity cos then everything they did would be subject to microscopic detail & ridicule by the media. Think "Posh EATS!!" or "Britney FARTS" type reporting

ZippiZapata · 09/08/2006 13:54

I emailed that bbc page too but how many hours does it take for them to put the emails up?

SherlockLGJ · 09/08/2006 13:55

I have emailed them in the past, when I have had my Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells head on and it generally takes about an hour to an hour and a half.

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 09/08/2006 13:59

sure it's already linked to somewhere but I'm loving this article - and also note that there's a picture of a childcare guru on the FRONT PAGE of the bbc news website - linking to the relevant story/debate

alexsmilitantmum · 09/08/2006 14:07

go justine!!!!! what a fab article!

what pisses me off is that mp was kind of in a way defending the famous author, by joking about how over heated everyone gets. just as if my ds was moaning repeatedly about not having sweets. i might say something like ' oh i know i'm the worst mother in the world, i thrash you and starve you and don't allow you to have sweets'.doesn't mean it's true.

SherlockLGJ · 09/08/2006 14:11

Oh Justine, I am filling up with pride.

You gals really rock.

ZippiZapata · 09/08/2006 14:16

excellent..just the one typo

points well made

morningpaper · 09/08/2006 14:18

It true, she SHOULD have laughed at my comment and said "Exactly! That's how silly this has all become!" It was just a parody of the extreme good vs. evil that the threads had become.

alexsmilitantmum · 09/08/2006 14:20

we know mp.we know it's ridiculous.

what does your dh think of your fame?

MercyTung · 09/08/2006 14:25

Justine - fantastic!!

Thanks QOQ

cazzybabs · 09/08/2006 14:29

It's even made the register - tabloid equivilent for the IT industry here

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 09/08/2006 14:30
