Hi Julie,
There appear to be a lot of us unable to post from or laptops and computers. We are all getting the message

Sorry we are not accepting new threads right now.

Can you help us out?

OP posts:
MimsyBorogroves · 01/01/2014 01:55

Thank you Rebecca.

RebeccaWatchOutMumsnet · 01/01/2014 01:56

@BitchytheGreat

Thank you Rebecca. Hopefully you have seen the other thread (Julie's one) which had it's Op altered and has upset people.

Just catching up now.

DoYouLikeMyBaubles · 01/01/2014 01:56

Thank you Rebecca

IamtheZombie · 01/01/2014 01:59

Thank you, Rebecca.

RhondaJean · 01/01/2014 01:59

Flip.

Wouldn't like to be in MNHQ tomorrow morning.

I think they've been hacked folks.

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 01/01/2014 01:59

Brilliant Rebecca - well done x Please do let us know what you find.

ISawStrattersKissingSantaClaus · 01/01/2014 01:59

I've already joined the alternative forum.

Someone seems to have forgotten that WE pay your wages ultimately. Not the advertisers. Advertisers don't advertise on empty sites.

Really fucking stupid decision.

HepsibarCrinkletoes · 01/01/2014 02:00

Thank you Rebecca.

K8Middleton · 01/01/2014 02:01

Blimey poor you Rebecca! I bet this has put a right damper on your celebrations.

I remember when you were new [old gimmer emoticon] can you give Julie The Chat? I think she needs a bit of support and understanding and you'll be good at that.

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 01/01/2014 02:01

I wonder if they have been hacked or if Julie was just out of her depth?

JazzyCardi · 01/01/2014 02:02

Just checking

ExcuseTypos · 01/01/2014 02:02

Oh where can we find it Stratters?

DoYouLikeMyBaubles · 01/01/2014 02:03

They haven't been hacked. Julie posted saying what she'd done. A hacker wouldn't do that and I would think they'd do a lot more than they have done.

pingusmum · 01/01/2014 02:07

It would be very convenient to believe the 'we've been hacked' mantra rather than 'we've got power mad staff'.

timidviper · 01/01/2014 02:07

Is there an alternative? One that allows swearing and doesn't have glittery thingummybobbies? I'm not going to anywhere honoured by the Tories but am really not happy with tonight

MurderOfGoths · 01/01/2014 02:07

Hope you had a good night before all this Rebecca!

JazzyCardi · 01/01/2014 02:12

Isn't this a bit of an overreaction? MNHQ got a bit freaked and shut us out for a couple of hours. There's no need to take it so personally or haul anyone over the coals about it.

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 01/01/2014 02:12

Baubles - It just seems beyond ridiculous and not like something someone paid to moderate this site would do - so just giving Julie the benefit of the doubt. Someone wanting to cause serious trouble couldn't have done it any better really could they...?

Solo · 01/01/2014 02:12

Oooh! just got onto the mobile thing that I didn't know existed

LadyBeagleEyes · 01/01/2014 02:13

You know I don't come on here for support, I come on for a laugh or a telly thread or to to defend anybody that's the victim of racist, disablist or benefit threads.
We were playing MN bingo, it's Hogmanay did anybody seriously think my thread about a Romanian BFer in Macdonalds was serious?
I'm on my own tonight through choice, I've mentioned it once and won't again but I have a secondary and incurable cancer. It is treatable through loads of shitty medication but I'm aware that I may not be here next year.
To have a laugh and a bit of fun on MN often makes my day, and tonight was IMO hilarious.
I will also leave if we can no longer use irony or humour which is the way it's going.
Just millions of MIL threads as Usual said and have been going on since Christmas.
If that's the way the site has to be, then fuck it, all the best posters have left or are leaving anyway.

LEMoncehadacatcalledSANTA · 01/01/2014 02:13

Just marking my place

RebeccaWatchOutMumsnet · 01/01/2014 02:13

@MurderOfGoths

Hope you had a good night before all this Rebecca!

It was lovely thanks MurderOfGoths, bubbly, steak dinner and an excellent dessert.

FracturedViewOfLife · 01/01/2014 02:13

Testing

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 01/01/2014 02:15

Jazzy is your other name Julie Hmm

If you don't see the problem, fine. You probably lead a charmed life. Not so the people who have had bereavements over Christmas or are feeling suicidal. People I was actually talking to when, without warning, I could no longer post. No warning, no advice after the fact - nothing, for over an hour. An hour or more that I wasted trying to 'fix' my computer so I could post on those threads and hopefully stop someone feeling so isolated, scared and desperate.
