Hi Julie,
There appear to be a lot of us unable to post from or laptops and computers. We are all getting the message

Sorry we are not accepting new threads right now.

Can you help us out?

OP posts:

Has the wee hamster on the mn server wheel got tired
Ran oot of poop

AnneEyhtMeyer · 01/01/2014 01:10

I'm pissed off now, but I know I will be incandescent in the morning when there is a post from MNHQ justifying it all as a reasonable decision and basically telling us to shut up and put up.

The disdain from MNHQ recently has been ratcheting up. Biting the hand that feeds...

AnneEyhtMeyer · 01/01/2014 01:12

The only inflammatory thread I have seen tonight is the one from JulieMN telling people she is going to delete them.

Valpollicella · 01/01/2014 01:12

Hang on. can't post from a laptop but everyone else can?

weird

this is gonna backfire mnhq Sad

I get why (ish)... but excluding a majority of posters is not gonna be good....

Valpollicella · 01/01/2014 01:13

Sorry meant I can an everyone else can from other devices

Post on iPad or tablets from mobile site instead
When you log in,bottom centre option of mobile site
I v much imagine thus is a bit techy glitch as opposed to imposing ban

SecretNutellaFix · 01/01/2014 01:14

Val- most people are using the mobile site on their laptops.

OP posts:
DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 01/01/2014 01:14

Blame the idiots that cluttered up the site with twattish "joke" threads, not MNHQ

KatyMac · 01/01/2014 01:15

I won't do it, but I feel like going down all the threads in active conversations& posting

"If you can't post, please go to the bottom of the page & click on the mobile site and then you will be able to"

It feels very discriminatory that some people (by luck, knowledge or gossip) can post and some people can't

NorthernLebkuchen · 01/01/2014 01:16

SM - Julie has said she's suspended everybody's ability to post. It's not a glitch.

KatyMac · 01/01/2014 01:17

Well that would be all the other "everybodies" not us special everybodies

ExcuseTypos · 01/01/2014 01:17

How many 'jokey' threads are there? I only saw about 4.

usualsuspect · 01/01/2014 01:17

Oh yeah blame people that dont go around with sour faces 24/7

Lets all just post about our MILs.

RockinAroundTheXmasTreeHippy · 01/01/2014 01:18

Testing

RockinAroundTheXmasTreeHippy · 01/01/2014 01:19

Whoever said change to the mobile site - it works :) thanks x

OvO · 01/01/2014 01:21

I don't blame anyone for posting daft threads
I don't blame anyone for reporting any of the daft threads ( didn't read any so don't know how far people went.)
I don't blame HQ for posting to warn everyone to calm the hell down or deletion/suspensions would be coming

BUT blocking EVERYONE is insane. A really really bad decision.

Islenka · 01/01/2014 01:21

I don't have a MIL usual

What can I post about? Sad

(Aside from that, wtf is going on? A lock down on having fun? Okay, I didn't find the threads particularly hilarious, but that is by the by).

sunbathe · 01/01/2014 01:25

Most of the jokey threads were funny, imo.

We've certainly seen worse over the years.

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/01/2014 01:25

Why have a lockdown that only affects the mobile site? It makes NO SENSE AT ALL!

Night all. Happy New Year

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/01/2014 01:26

I meant only affects the desktop site, of course..

ExcuseTypos · 01/01/2014 01:29

Does anyone know how many jokey threads there were?

Tigerbomb · 01/01/2014 01:29

Why didnt you just lock down the AIBU section?

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 01/01/2014 01:30

I've just got home and tuned in. AIBU has had me in hysterics. WTF would anyone be offended? It's just daft stuff!
Has HQ gone mad? Hmm

KatyMac · 01/01/2014 01:30

I think what they have done is unfair & dishonest; they could have at least announced it or put a sticky or sent an email

Thousands of people think that mumsnet or their computer is broken or they have a virus or they have been banned/suspended

This is NOT a good night for insecure people to think they have been banned/suspended
