Why are some members of this site allowed to get away with persistently being vile, pushing an agenda, defending the indefensible, upsetting other members, twisting versions of events and generally being nasty, and they do not get banned?

Not about any one particular poster, but I have noticed that some stronger "personalities" on here seem to be Teflon coated.

Why is this?

Why do the owners of this site want that kind of vile poster and do not seem to care about the number of truly decent kind posters who are being upset and driven off the site?

@hathorisaskingaquestion

No not offence.

Sigh.

I'm not explaining very well.

I'm not taking offence at it - I'm pointing out that if there ARE posters who HQ know need a quicker response to that would explain WHY some posts go pfft quicker than others.

And it's something I didn't know before, I assumed that all reports were dealt with on an "as they came in" basis.

And I don't want to be treated any differently to any one else.

Morning all. And oh dear, hath, that was not at all what I meant by my post.

You had made it really clear that your mails were not being responded to for days. (Which can happen sometimes, unfortunately, in very busy times with very complicated reports/mails.) We were simply trying to reassure you that if you mailed us about this specific issue - and given your obvious distress - we would do our damndest not to keep you waiting too long for a reply.

There is no Special List at HQ. (Other than my Whose Turn Is It To Make Tea? spreadsheet).

Reports/mails are, generally speaking, dealt with in roughly the order that they come in to our inbox.

But some reports/mails take longer to deal with than others. So it is entirely possible that someone reporting a personal attack might see it deleted and get a reply before someone mailing in about a poster following them across the boards and bullying them - even if both mails appeared in our inbox at the same time.

solidgoldbrass · 05/07/2012 11:20

Has it never occurred to some of you that the reasons some of your 'Reporting! Bwaaah! Ban that poster from the entire interweb!' messages to MN do not result in the execution of the poster who dared to disagree with you is because actually the other poster was right and you are a bunch of oversensitive whinyarses who should step away from the computer?

Hullygully · 05/07/2012 11:20

"We need to ban tomatoes," says the leader, her eyes fervid and bright. "They are too red and too round. All tomatoes must be squashed at birth and made into passata in honour of women's wombs throughout time (thanks Mary)."

"Let us go forth, via our computers, and spread the word. Anyone who objects is a vile woman-hating, tomato loving apologist."

"But leader," pipes up one, cowering yet admiring. "Although you are without question completely right as ever no matter what you say, they are also called Love Apples and do they not honour Eve?"

GetOrfMoiiLand · 05/07/2012 11:20

I want tufty in charge.

She gets my vote.

Tee2072 · 05/07/2012 11:21

Now a small child wants food! I mean...how dare he?!?!

So no one say anything too interesting until I get him fed, okay?

Hullygully · 05/07/2012 11:21

Tufty is Ronnie.

LBE is a vase bearer

Deceased Hattie Jacques is Justine.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 05/07/2012 11:22

Can we not have tomatoes - I'm allergic

How about Peppers or eggs instead?

(and I'm only 5ft 4, but a giant compared to Ronnie)

ginslinger · 05/07/2012 11:23

frankly I think it all sounds a bit tomatoist and Maryz is blatantly encouraging violence against tomatoes.

LtEveDallas · 05/07/2012 11:23

Oh X Post - Hully banned tomatoes YES YES YES!!!

ohchristFENTON · 05/07/2012 11:25

I think you're all being heightophobic

GetOrfMoiiLand · 05/07/2012 11:26

What are you all on about now?

Tee2072 · 05/07/2012 11:27

Oh wait I have a smart phone...

I'm 5'2" I could play Ronnie.

Hullygully · 05/07/2012 11:27

I haven't banned tomatoes, the leader in the play did. duh. You are confusing the narrator with the character. Who isn't me.

TuftyFinch · 05/07/2012 11:28

The tomatoes all march. March. March. March.
Halt calls the lead tomato.
They all stop.
I said halt said Head Tomato.
We have said the tomato army Hmm
They continued like this for some time. Eventually they all huddled together and agreed to over throw the Head Tomato. A big fight ensued. The biggest fight in the history of tomatoes. It would later be called The Fight at Bunker Hill. A new Head Tomato needed to be found. They decided to do it in a fair way. They did 'eeny, meany, miny, mo. The tomato called Tom was chosen. There was much rejoicing and eating of cake. Tom ruled for 12 good years.
