Why are some members of this site allowed to get away with persistently being vile, pushing an agenda, defending the indefensible, upsetting other members, twisting versions of events and generally being nasty, and they do not get banned?

Not about any one particular poster, but I have noticed that some stronger "personalities" on here seem to be Teflon coated.

Why is this?

Why do the owners of this site want that kind of vile poster and do not seem to care about the number of truly decent kind posters who are being upset and driven off the site?

I doubt there is a list of posterw who get preferential treatment. Mnhq isn't the Ivy.

I would say that a thread like this would result in an email being sent saying 'pls look into this'

I don't think that is special treatment just a natural response to someone who is distressed. It is better than helen saying 'well complain, but you will have to get in the queue like eveyon else and you might not get an answer til Tuesday'

Tee2072 · 05/07/2012 11:00

Whut Maryz said.

It is like triage. And I do hope MNHQ do it, as otherwise the 100 reports on the 'I am so obviously a troll' threads would get ignored in favour of 'she was seeeew mean to me' reports.

At the end of the day we are more than words on a screen. But just barely.

hairylemon · 05/07/2012 11:01

From my POV I think MNHQ need to not look at the username of the reportee or the reporter.

TuftyFinch · 05/07/2012 11:01

Olivia, you could gives us all nice red telephones. Like bat phones but 1970's ones. The ones that 'tring'. We could call you then. And. Maybe a hologram thing to light up the sky.
And. Get John Craven in. He'd sort everything out.

It doesn't smell at all LtEve I think that's because it was just gas which was burning. They had to burn all the gas out of the holder in a sfae and controlled was so as to avoid an explosion .

Ref LeQ I think that as long as you know she will be always up for an argument and won't back down, you can't go far wrong. If you fancy a row then fine, if you don't leave alone

amillionyears · 05/07/2012 11:04

I am using it for me and for others. On balance I have decided to stay for now.
And you can only change an organisation from within.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 05/07/2012 11:05

I wouldn't want this place to be heavily moderated. There are loads of sites like that.

I have got to agree that if you really hate the way a site is run why waste your time on here?

Tee2072 · 05/07/2012 11:05

Lemarch, I can't answer for Hath, but that's why I didn't say lock. But even a comment on thread would be better than the silence we sometimes get now.

Now you're just bragging, Maryz...

Hullygully · 05/07/2012 11:06

wot someone said about triage ^^

I have a great idea!

Put ME in charge.

It will all be so much better.

LtEveDallas · 05/07/2012 11:06

Christ, Hath, there is no list Helen was just being a lovely, decent person to you then. She must wonder why she bothered now.

I get that you had a shit time, really I do, but there comes a time when you have to let it go, and accept that maybe you are seeing things differently to others. We can't all be the same my love - life would be very bloody boring if we were. But something you see as wrong, isn't necessarily wrong - you've just read it differently.

(Just like me, TSC and AL have)

Hullygully · 05/07/2012 11:07

amillion - are you quite well? Altogether?

FunnysInLaJardin · 05/07/2012 11:07

Lol at 'not like the Ivy'. I imagine it is just like the Ivy. You could do one of those 'Can you get a table' type things that they used to do in the Observer. Only 'Can you avoid deletion'

Sigh.

I'm not explaining myself.

And I have to go I have RL to attend to.

I understand what Helen meant by the post. I do.

But I also think it explains why some posts are deleted quicker and why sometimes reports that aren't obviously "upset" or whatever are put to the bottom of the pile and it takes days to get an answer.

Putting Hullygully in charge would certainly be a brave decision by MNHQ.

TuftyFinch · 05/07/2012 11:11

I only use MN for others. Not for me. I'm selfless.

Hullygully · 05/07/2012 11:11

So this is how the play starts

Seven women sit round a round table (no male hierarchy bollocks in MY play)

The sit together, yet essentially alone. Each has a lap top.

They stare at them soulfully.

One woman, small and dark, her face scored with a million of life's petty battles and troubles, holds aloft a large tomato.

"This," she says, "Is a typically symbolic male dominating self-referential testicle fruit."

The other six women gasp reverentially and type furiuosly.

Stage left, through a glass pane, we just see little Ronnie Corbett jumping up and down, trying to see in. (He basically does this throughout the play symbolising the essentially locked-out fury of the male denied a place at the table.

to be cont.

OMG Hully, it's brilliant!

Don't write any more here without starting with:

Or someone will be sure to steal it!
