Why are some members of this site allowed to get away with persistently being vile, pushing an agenda, defending the indefensible, upsetting other members, twisting versions of events and generally being nasty, and they do not get banned?

Not about any one particular poster, but I have noticed that some stronger "personalities" on here seem to be Teflon coated.

Why is this?

Why do the owners of this site want that kind of vile poster and do not seem to care about the number of truly decent kind posters who are being upset and driven off the site?

I have hidden all the FWR topics.
And the Dog House.

MorrisZapp · 04/07/2012 21:21

I was accused of being somebody else?

Blimey. No, I didn't see that. Anybody able to point me to this amusing mix up?

I'm not that nice though. I troll hunt and openly disbelieve people.

NicholasTeakozy · 04/07/2012 21:21

Blimey, this is quick moving. Yes Hathor, I am also of the opinion that some posters get away with more than others. Not that I report posters slagging me off, I'd rather let them stand.

Welcome back btw. :)

Why come on a thread just to say you don't like the thread? Just hiding the bloody thing and move on with your life!

BTW, I never know who anyone is. So namechange away and I'll be a new friend. Even if I've known you for years...

happybirthdayHiggs · 04/07/2012 21:31

Hi everyone, I've rejoined tonight to add my good wishes for little Aillidh and her family. I noticed this OP saying she's just rejoined too so popped in for a look.

I flounced off in a strop left after much consideration because of perceived double standards, but seeing the goodwill on Aillidh's thread has persuaded me to give mumsnet another go. Looking forward to many deep and meaningful rucks discussions, or failing that, permission to bob a curtsey to mumsnet royalty.

MorrisZapp · 04/07/2012 21:34

I'm intrigued now. What thread was that on?

IamtheZombie · 04/07/2012 21:38

The thread was deleted, Morris.

These threads are so so tiresome for the 'third class' MNers who aren't royalty, and who don't do pm's or FB groups.

Ie, most of us.

It's like watching opera - it would be interesting and dramatic if only we knew what the buggers were singing about.

The rules don't need changing. It's only a small, self selecting group who have these barneys then start endless threads rehashing them, without ever stating clearly what actually happened.

Moderation is fine as it is. If you don't like MN then find another community you do like, and for the love of god don't give out personal info or FB indentities.

^^
that, up there...perfect!

MorrisZapp · 04/07/2012 21:44

Blimey (again).

I don't remember that one, maybe I was being a bit troll huntery on it?

I'm one of nature's cynics, me.

But to some, I'm perfect :)

Hullygully · 04/07/2012 21:45

yes it MAKES ME SICK

TuftyFinch · 04/07/2012 21:50

I think that it's possible. But. Only if you align them. You can't do it otherwise, it's just not possible. Even on a bus. I thought it would work in a train but I tried 3 times and I couldn't do it. O even asked the man sitting opposite. After Sevenoaks obviously because a lot of people get off there. Anyway, he tried and couldn't do it either. It's a shame because I really thought it would work. Back to the drawing board I guess.

FaceForRadio · 04/07/2012 21:50

terrible.

What we on about??

Grin

I just read tufty's post again and really laughed.

Hullygully · 04/07/2012 21:54

good point tifty

hello face

GetOrfMoiiLand · 04/07/2012 21:55

I wonder what she couldn't do. I mean not even the man opposite could do it, he tried. After Sevenoaks as well. It all goes on in Kent.

Hullygully · 04/07/2012 21:56

i blame the hops

usualsuspect · 04/07/2012 21:56

Is Tufty still on the train?

24HourPARDyPerson · 04/07/2012 21:56

Tufty cuts to the chase as usual

Tee2072 · 04/07/2012 21:58

I get ready for bed and Tufty comes along stoned out of her head...

TuftyFinch · 04/07/2012 22:00

I think some of you might be missing the point. It's my fault because I omitted the bit about the guard sounding exactly like Michael Caine. But, and this is the important bit, today the guard sounded exactly like Ken Livingstone. Does it make sense now? So, to clarify: if you were inside and I was outside you'd think it was possible wouldn't you? It's so not possible. I really want to have another try but I think I need to use a spoon? Maybe that's the answer after all. Also, do you know how much they cost?
£4,000!!!! That's just plain ridiculous to my eyes.

BCBG · 04/07/2012 22:00

Maybe we should all be required to rename ourselves every two years or summat Wink. I am sort of bastard Royalty, in that I joined in late 2001 and Ive been here ever since: a couple of years ago a poster took a violent dislike to me on a thread and 'hunted' me, threatening to trace me in RL and I became incredibly frightened and upset, which is ridiculous, really note I think about it. Anyway, I emailed MNHQ and never heard anything/got a reply. After I had stopped shaking and peering though the letterbox I came back, changed my name, and er...I've been here ever since. But I am very careful now, no longer have a profile and [sobs theatrically] none of the oldies recognise me now...but I still love Mumsnet. I just leaned a lesson, I guess.

BCBG · 04/07/2012 22:02

...didn't learn to proofread, though (sigh..)
