Ok, that's enough now MNHQ

Stop it with the mad deleting.

OP posts:
TantrumsAndBalloons · 30/05/2012 10:25

I should have reported it

The op was very goading

But I didn't :)

Hullygully · 30/05/2012 10:26

OMG

An inside job

Thanks for the answer, Justine. I appreciate you might be feeling a bit battered by this.

I don't think people were reporting the sweaty posts. 'twas the goadbusters making a bust.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 30/05/2012 10:29

Has ANOTHER thread just been deleted? The one about how perhaps MN should be segregated so if you have a 'naice middle-class' question you don't get inundated with filthy hateful working-class people responding in an inferior way?

Hully, you posted on that one didn't you? Is it in your 'Threads I'm On' list, cos it seems to have disappeared from mine.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 30/05/2012 10:30

I think the one about how everyone should stop swearing has gone as well.

seeker · 30/05/2012 10:31

Yep, that's gone, Lady Clarice. Shame, I was enjoying it.

Hullygully · 30/05/2012 10:31

yy. That one was deleted cos we all reported goading.

Just shows how stupid it's all got. We all reported to prove a point, none of us could really give a shit...

What, the middle class/working class one? Who's "we"?

Hullygully · 30/05/2012 10:35

I dunno. Lots of people I gather from the email form MNHQ saying apologies for mass response.

Soz, "we" was lazy

OP posts:
TantrumsAndBalloons · 30/05/2012 10:36

The MC/WC is still going strong :)

Jins · 30/05/2012 10:37

I agree with the majority of posters.

I'm fairly new to MN and I was attracted by the quality of the posts would you believe. There are some very articulate people on this forum and some of them appear to be being silenced. I was on the recent racism thread and by the time all the deletions had taken place I thought it was a good thing it was finally pulled as MN came across as a place where unacceptable phraseology was the norm rather than something to correct.

I'm on the verge of leaving myself. This was a little haven of intelligence in the maelstrom of idiocy that is the internet. I can read stupid questions and banal discussions anywhere but this was refeshing in that people would stand up to unacceptable comments. It does appear that there's a witch hunt aimed at prolific posters on occasion.

Most importantly though the joy is being sucked out of the place. I hope MNHQ can reach a solution that everyone is happy with

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 30/05/2012 10:37

Tantrums, is it? Where? It's not on my 'Threads I'm On' list any more.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 30/05/2012 10:37

I think that if someone is trolling then they are also guilty of goading, however some OP's could be goaders without also being a troll.

Depending on the replies they get, everyone else is either a goader, a troll hunter, a troll hunter-goader or a gullible fool, depending on how seriously they take the OP/Troll-Goader/Goader.

I think.

I was almost certainly a goader on the swearing thread

Do you mean the one about who is MC and who is WC?

It's there, I'm on it :)

skirt · 30/05/2012 10:39

I don't think Mumsnet will disappear down a syrupy vortex though. Common sense will prevail as it's obvious to most folks that much of its appeal lies in its edginess.

seeker · 30/05/2012 10:39

Tantrums, the one Lady C,arise and I are talking about has gone- and I see no reason why it should have. It was very silly in places, but if that was a reason for deletion...........

bruxeur · 30/05/2012 10:42

This reminds me of when Creme Eggs basically halved in size, and everyone was up in arms and all Cadbury's said was "no no, they've always been this size, it's just you're all remembering them from childhood when your hands were smaller and so relatively they seemed bigger to you AND ANYWAY YOU CAN'T PROVE ANYTHING HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!"

Similar, anyway.

cheesesarnie · 30/05/2012 10:45

you are blardy fabulous noones

TantrumsAndBalloons · 30/05/2012 10:48

Oh sorry, wrong one.

Must be a hot topic?

startail · 30/05/2012 10:48

Please just stop deleting things, unless they break the law.

If you suspect they are not genuine colour code them or something.
