Stop it with the mad deleting.

FrankWippery · 29/05/2012 21:31

I see...twas a xpost of 30-odd seconds...

TheWomanFormerlyKnownAsSGM · 29/05/2012 21:32

< I don't want to derail but I have always wondered why you behave like that to me. Some things are best left unsaid and naming someone on a thread like this is stirring.>

SuePBlovesaDiamondJubilee · 29/05/2012 21:32

Oh do answer Shirley, please. I want to go to bed.

mummynoseynora · 29/05/2012 21:32

But thats NOT what you have said Justine..... I think Maryz deleted post about KKK is a good example, she was calling the OP on their beliefs SHE wasn't being racist, she was pointing out that what the OP said was... I am clearly missing a point here but in my mind, if someone is verbalising bigoted beliefs then I don't really care how its done, obviously vaguely politely is preffered, but you know what - if the bigot isn't learning from the polite way, I'll happily ramp it up to get a point across.

I won't tolerate bigoted beliefs anywhere in my life - people can think what they like, but I won't hear it and not challenge it - be that at work, with family or on the tinterweb

rant out

JustineMumsnet · 29/05/2012 21:33

@Blatherskite

I'm sure there are as many reasons for typing "I am reporting this thread" as there are reasons to report a thread - suspicion of trolling/racism/personal attacks/being a twat... not sure it could ever count as a personal attack though

Yes but we don't allow troll-hunting - it's in the guidelines - so if that is what it was, then that could explain it... doesn't have to be a personal attack.

ShirleyKnot · 29/05/2012 21:33

I'm sorry to go on and be a massive wanker about this but I'd would very much like a response to my point about threads being started to attack regulars being allowed to stand.

Does MNHQ think it's ok for me to be called stupid and cliquey and as if Mumsnet is "all about me?", mean and bullying, a person of a certain "ilk"?

Is that all ok because the poster(s) don't use my name? Even thought they made it, and make it, very clear who they're talking about, in the most recent case going so far as to say the topic of conversation we were having.

It goes both ways doesn't it? If there are going to be deletions a-plenty for saying "I am reporting this thread" or "this post makes you sound like a racist" then why should any regulars have to put up with being constantly slagged off because we have the temerity to use the site to make friends?

EclecticShock · 29/05/2012 21:33

I'm still missing from the list, although I think mn get the message.

LtEveDallas · 29/05/2012 21:33

Nor me Shirley Sad

notocrap3 · 29/05/2012 21:35

asking for a flaming but ,

would we rather HQ was careful with deletions in order to protect MN from being targeted by crazy publicity seeking idiots who use our comments in ludicrous campaigns??

JustineMumsnet · 29/05/2012 21:35

@HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen

Hully please stop it. Anyfucker is oiling her minge.

Justine are you going to inhibit the 1000 post limiter thingy to stop this thread mushrooming into a load of others like a big delety discussion hydra?

yes will do that now [wonders whether that's such a good plan]

Hullygully · 29/05/2012 21:36

who are you talking to sgm?

OP posts:
bunnybabylon · 29/05/2012 21:36

fgs this website seems to spend more time bitching about each other than actually discussing anything these days.

i miss the conversations, the debates, the fun! now it's all name calling and posters ganging together to 'flame' other posters who may have a differing opinion.

jeez real life is so much more appealing now!

SecretNutellaFix · 29/05/2012 21:38

I'm off to put the bins out.

mistlethrush · 29/05/2012 21:38

notocrap - leaving the racist/ rape apologist / sexist / bigotted comments up and deleting responses that call them on that is not going to help to protect MN from "being targeted by crazy publicity seeking idiots who use our comments in ludicrous campaigns" If anything it will make things worse...

Empusa · 29/05/2012 21:40

I'm not quite sure what you are saying notocrap Confused

No that's not OK Shirley.

"i miss the conversations, the debates, the fun!"

You keep missing thembecause they keep getting deleted, hence the reason of this thread! Grin

notocrap3 · 29/05/2012 21:45

Empusa dont want to mention the crazies name in case they come on here again!

im talking about a campaign a couple of months ago that took mnrs comments about men and took them out of context to say mn was sexist or some bullcrap.

Valpollicella · 29/05/2012 21:45

So we can't actually even say 'Im reporting this thread'

What would Netmums do

Bet they don't delete that.
