Ok, that's enough now MNHQ

Stop it with the mad deleting.

OP posts:
Pagwatch · 29/05/2012 14:36

I want to be added to the list but I can't as I think Sandy sent me out to play in the garden.

SuePBlovesaDiamondJubilee · 29/05/2012 14:36

I think klaxon has a point with the anti-fans. Busy little Po.

tethersend · 29/05/2012 14:37

Oh, sorry Lemarchand.

I think perhaps I need to let this one go. I just was baffled as to how borderline racist posts were left to stand and I was deleted. If I had an explanation then perhaps I could sleep at night...

Chubfuddler · 29/05/2012 14:37

Deleting replies to deleted posts is new. Definitely new.

Hullygully · 29/05/2012 14:37

Don't delete anything. Let's go back to self-moderating.

I couldn't care less if someone calls me a cunt or a whitey fuck face or whatever

Is it bad that I had to scroll back up to check how to spell my name? It probably means I'm a troll. Fuck.

Hullygully · 29/05/2012 14:37

Yes it is Chub

And mental

OP posts:
RebeccaMumsnet · 29/05/2012 14:38

@tethersend

"No personal attacks No posts that break the law No trolling, goading or misleading No trollhunting No spamming"

Helen, why then did I get deleted for saying someone's point shone like a burning cross on a lawn?

Mail in tethers, we will happily explain contactus @ mumsnet.com

Hullygully · 29/05/2012 14:38

That is the tipping point.

Even the sainted Paggy, fragrant Queen of our Realm, wants to be on the list.

OP posts:
Chubfuddler · 29/05/2012 14:39

And it makes it look like someone posted something cuntish when they were probably telling some deserving arse to go one.

OracleInACoracleocus · 29/05/2012 14:40

I think the "personal attacks" definition has been widened too far at the moment, one person's angry riposte is another's "personal attack" - too PC by far, sometimes

yes, this.

Chubfuddler · 29/05/2012 14:40

Oh I want to be on the list, I just have ham fisted fingers and it takes about twenty minutes to copy and paste on my phone.

TheRhubarb · 29/05/2012 14:40

Rebecca wants adding to the list she said.

I'm burning my minge in protest! Bras are too lame. Let's be the minge burners!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 29/05/2012 14:40

I have some stats I've just searched for.

The advanced search shows that between Xmas Eve 2008 and Xmas Eve 2010 there were 496 deleted comments.

Between 1st January 2012 and todays date there have been over 500 deleted comments.

ExitPursuedByABear · 29/05/2012 14:40

Stratters gone Shock But how will I know how Mortimer is? If he finds a girlfriend?

TantrumsAndBalloons · 29/05/2012 14:41

So personal attacks are not allowed?

Is calling someone a chattering class, guardian reading yummy mummy wannabee who sits singing kumbya whilst my DCs run around eneducated and not caring if they are at the bottom of the class not a personal attack?

Especially as it was in response to my perfectly civil post saying I don't think 9 yo need to learn a new language On the car journey to school?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 29/05/2012 14:43

AmazingBouncingFerret can you work that out as percentage of total posts? otherwise it might just mean there are a lot more total post now

tethersend · 29/05/2012 14:44

Thanks Rebecca, but I am happy to have the explanation here if that's ok?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 29/05/2012 14:44

tantrums did you report it? They can't delete if it's not reported...

Hullygully · 29/05/2012 14:44

We are in urgent need of a List Master and a statistician.

OP posts:
LtEveDallas · 29/05/2012 14:45

No personal attacks
No posts that break the law
No trolling, goading or misleading
No trollhunting
No spamming

OK Rebecca, my latest deleted post did NOT break any of those rules. In fact I will go so far as to say that ALL the posts from the OP prior to my deleted post WERE Goading - but yet they still stand.

So I don't get it???

AmaxingBouncingFerret - Excellent Smile

Hullygully · 29/05/2012 14:45

Perhaps that's it. Perhaps we all need to report all the personal attacks that we don't.

OP posts:
TheRhubarb · 29/05/2012 14:46

Someone told me that I wanted to encourage my 8yo ds to have an eyeful of women's bodies the other day. That was not deleted but my response to them was.

Is that fair?

jaquelinehyde · 29/05/2012 14:46

I suspect 'The Po' will be making an appearance in the next Dr Who series. They will be scarey looking mother fuckers who move slowly forward repeating nothing but report, report, report in a boring monotone voice.

ChuckUFarley · 29/05/2012 14:47

Is "that's an interesting point of view you have there op. I'm not 100% certain I agree with you. Perhaps you should tie some weights to your shoes in order to bring you back down to earth and maybe next time you pop along to your doctor you could ask him/her for some pretty pills" a personal attack?

Because if not, I'm c&ping it to all threads involving poo.
